I am also getting married in May 2013 and am looking at photography. I would love to have Del Sol but we aren't sure it will be in our budget. If not we are looking at Juan Navarro or Ivan Luckie and then do our TTD with Del Sol.

I am also having the same feelings. I bought a dress at Priscilla of Boston when they were going out of buisness. I really went just to look but one dress caught my eye as soon as I walked in and I loved it when I tried it on. But I am 1 yr and almost 4 months out and I can't stop looking at other dresses. I feel like I didn't try enough dresses on but because I didn't have the option of looking around and coming back for this dress I bought it. Now I am really torn on what to do.

Babigirl21, I'm also getting married at the Gran Caribe. Ceremony in the chapel and reception at the villas terrace. We will be staying at the Royal. Vacationed there in June and loved it! We did half of the week at each resort to get a feel for both. We will have to get a 2013 gran caribe thread going at some point.

I am booked for 5/11/13 for the chapel at the Gran Caribe and also plan on staying at the Royal. My fiancé and I went for a site visit in June and it confirmed how perfect these resorts are for our wedding. We met with a wedding coordinator, did a food tasting, and saw quite a few weddings taking place. If you have any questions let me know.

I'm so excited that I found my dress! I went to Priscilla of Boston just to look because I love their dresses and they are going out of business. This dress was the first dress I saw and I fell in love with it. It's 2 sizes too big and way too long right now but here it is!

Hi, I also am a 2013 bride looking to get into shape for my wedding! I was a gymnast/gymnastics instructor for 10 years and now since I've stopped it's a lot harder to keep my body how I'd like it to look. Having other brides to talk to and help keep me motivated would be really great!

In June my fiance and I went to the Gran Caribe/The Royal for a site visit and we are so happy with everything! The chapel is absolutely gorgeous! We did a food tasting and were also impressed. We did see some of the work of their photographers while we were there which we weren't all that impressed with. I inquired about adding a civil ceremony to the catholic cermony and was told that we could do it, and that it would be additinal 30 mins to the 1 hr catholic ceremony. We feel like that's too long to ask our guests to sit in the heat. We plan on legally getting married before we go to Mexico.

I wish I was good at DIY projects. So far I have bought a dress for my TTD session. When we went for our site visit we chose our menu. I think our colors are going to be turquoise and pink. We are currently looking at save the dates but aren't sure how early to send them out. I'm also debating between doing real flowers or ordering real touch flowers.

The resorts are connected by a gate and are very easy to go between. If you stay at the Royal you can go over to the Gran Caribe whenever you want. You are able to use all the facilities at both hotels. We loved the Royal so we are planning on staying at the Royal and getting married at the chapel at the Gran Caribe. Our guest will be split between both hotels so we are going to be spending time at both.

So my engagment ring is a 2 carat 3 stone ring. The center stone is 1 carat and the side stones are .5 each. I am debating between two 5 stone wedding bands. One is 1 carat tw and the other is 1.5 carats tw. Since my fiance got my e-ring from Blue Nile we are going to get my wedding band from there as well. Unfortunately this means I can't try the rings on. If anyone has similar rings or has any input it would be greatly appreciated! Any pics would be great too. Thanks!!

Is anyone else thinking of renting out a catamaran for a group excursion? I've read that other brides have done this and we were thinking it might be a nice way to thank our guests.

Bridetobe2013, My fiance and I stayed at the Majestic Elegance a few years back and saw a few weddings between there and the Majestic Colonial. The weddings looked great, and we really loved the resorts. Quite a few resorts we had contacted said that they didn't have rates published for 2013 yet, so they weren't booking. When we contacted Real resorts I'd already done a lot of research on this site and their website. I talked back and forth with a wedding consultant and they were able to reserve my date with a $200 deposit. I was really excited since I really had my heart set on this resort!

I'm also originally from Lynn! We are not getting married until May 2013 but I can't wait! We are staying at The Royal Cancun and getting married in the chapel at their sister resort The Gran Caribe Real. We did a site visit last month and loved it!

Hi Amanda, I too am getting married in 2013 in Mexico. I'm actually here as we speak (checking email and such while fiance naps...lol) We looked at the Palace Resorts but it was rather pricey for our guests (about $1600pp for a week from Boston). We have decided on The Gran Caribe Real and after this site visit couldn't be happier with our choice. My son is 8 so having a kids club is important. They have a nice kids club/pool with plenty of activities. Next door is The Royal which is a newer luxury resort by Real resort. Anyone who stays at The Royal also has access to the Gran Caribe which we liked because it gives our guests the option of the GRC for a nice but more budget friendly resort ($900-1000pp for a week from Boston) or the Royal if they are looking for a more upscale resort. There is a beautiful chapel, gazebos or beach locations. They also have multiple wedding packages as well as add ons. After a lot of research and visiting the hotels and doing a food tasting we are really happy with our choice. Of course everyone is looking for a different experience for their wedding and this is just my opinion. I did research on this site and also trip advisor. I went to Expedia and looked at resorts that were in the range I felt comfortable asking my guests to pay, looked at them on trip advisor and researched them on here. Good luck and congrats! Emily

I'm currently at the Gran Caribe Real/The Royal for a site visit. Nice resort, great service, good food. If anyone has any questions I'd be more than happy to try to answere them. We arrived Sunday and are at The Gran Caribe until tomorrow afternoon then upgrading to the Royal until Saturday evening.
