For orders over 1,500 he will take 15% off to help with the outside vendor fee. We are using him for brides bouquet, bridesmaids bouquet, bouts, centerpieces, and ceremony decor to get to the $1500. He said if you just use him for bouquets and bouts he can drop them off with someone in the lobby and you don't have to pay the vendors fee, but he needs to set up centerpieces so you need to pay the fee if you order those.

Hey txbrideinmexico, Margarittaville is right across the street, as well as the Outback and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory. We split our site visit between the Gran Caribe and The Royal, so while we waited for our room at The Royal we had lunch at Margarittaville. It was pretty quiet because I was mid day but it was good sized and it's some place I would definitely like to check out in the evening! I would also love to go to Señor Frogs. That would be a taxi or bus ride away.

Hey ladies, I was wondering what everyone else has gotten done so far. I feel like I should be doing more. So far I have: ordered my dress, booked the ceremony/reception spaces, chose food, booked our rooms, booked our airfare, booked the DJ, booked the photographer, sent save the dates, purchased our invites (plan to send them out in the next couple weeks), started a group block of rooms, made a wedding web page, started looking for bridesmaids dresses, bought wedding jewelry, and in the processes of choosing flowers. I think that's it, but i could be forgetting something. I just feel like we are getting closer (just under 6 months now) and that I should be doing more, or that there should be more that needs to be done!

I was wondering where everyone picked out their bridesmaids dresses from. I am really looking for turquoise or Tiffany blue, but haven't found it. I went to Davids Bridal and Alfred Angelo and no turquoise or Tiffany. Alfred Angelo even has a color called blue box which they refered to as Tiffany blue but it's not. I'm torn between continuing to search or just changing my colors. I don't want my bridesmaids to have to spend too much which is why I chose those 2 places to look. I'm getting so frustrated and was wondering what you ladies think.

Happybridetobe- they will require you to sign a form acknowledging the rules of the chapel. I emailed the priest directly, and he said he would make an exception for only the bride. But from what I've heard on the forums people have signed the form and wore strapless dresses, as did their BM and guests and no one said anything so I'm really not sure. Catish11- we picked the shrimp with jambalaya rice and the beef fillet. We also tried a pasta from the vegetarian menu and it was just ok.

Yes it is. Thank you! I think it's perfect for us. I can't wait! -
A private welcome dinner on the beach is $30 per person for a 3 course meal. What I didn't like about it was that the menu choices are the same as the choices for the wedding meal. We did a tasting of 3 meals when we went for our site visit. We chose the 2 we liked best. None of the other foods really stuck out to us. We don't want to do the same food for a rehearsal or welcome dinner as the wedding. The other option is the buffet which sounds great but it's a min of 50 people, meaning you have to pay for 50 people either way, and at $40 a person that is a little pricey. If we were actually going to have 50 people I would't mind, but we are expecting about 35, so we've decided against this.

I was wondering how many people are doing a rehearsal dinner or welcome dinner. Our wedding is on a Fri and we have quite a few guests coming in on Thurs., so a welcome dinner probably isn't an option for us, but a rehearsal dinner is. We got some quotes for outside restaurants but most were pretty pricey. They offer a "semi private" dinner for $15pp, but we just found out it is for 30 people or less, and we have more. The private dinner is nice and can be on the beach, but the menu choices are the same as the menu choices for the wedding, which we already picked the 2 we like from that list for the wedding. There really aren't any other options on it that stick out to us. The other option we have is to do a buffet which looks great, but it is a min of 50 guests, which means we would have to pay for 50 guests @$40pp, bringing us to about $2,000. Do you think it's crazy to spend $2,000 on dinner at an all inclusive resort? FI kind of does, but will go along with whatever I want to do. Our only other option would be to just do a cocktail reception which would be $15pp. Just interested in getting some other opinions!

JetBlue finally came out with airfare for May! I feel like I've been waiting for it for so long! We finally have all of our travel booked and its a big relief. Some family is waiting to see if ther rates go down and debating about doing connecting flights, but atleast now that option is out there. I was not willing to wait to see how the prices would fluctuate...I just wanted to get it done...lol.

Ladies I have a question for you, So we are considering doing a catamaran tour for our guests. The only problem is we don't want to do it the day before or after the wedding which is a Friday. So we were thinking of doing Wednesday, however my family, his parents, and his groomsmen will all be there but none of my 6 bridesmaids would be. It definitely wouldn't be as fun for me without them there and I don't want anyone to feel left out, so we are debating if it's worth doing it. I'm so confused. I don't know if we should go ahead with the catamaran or if we should do a private dinner the night before so everyone is included.

Should we still do it or maybe go for the private dinner the night before instead?

show us your rings!

I was wondering if you have picked out your wedding band yet. I have a similar e-ring and am having trouble deciding on a band. -
That is something that has concerned us a little too. We will be having guests staying at both resorts. My fiance and I will be there for 2 weeks. Originally we were going to move to another resort for the second week, but since we feel like we will spend a lot of time going back and forth the week leading up to the wedding we wanted to make sure we would have time to enjoy the Royal. Most of my family is staying at the Gran Caribe because quite a few of them have kids, and they all want to be together. Atleast half of my bridemsaids are staying at the Gran Caribe. All of my fiances groomsmen and his parents are staying at the Royal. We are doing Sat-Sat (2 weeks). My family (parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and their kids) is doing Tues-Tues. I have some bridesmaids doing Wed-Sun or Thurs-Sun. Fiances groomsmen and parents are mostly doing Sat-Sat, so there is some times where we will have only people at the Royal, but for the rest of the time we will be back and forth or on the beach....Should be interesting.
