I am weighing in tomorrow...a little nervous.....want to be down 3 pounds this week! Worked really really hard in the gym, and my eating was spot on! Cross fingers for me.....
-
sorry to hear.... Hopefully the purge works and you can get back on track to toning!

Hello Ladies! I am getting married in October of this year, and have already started my weight loss journey. I have lost 15 pounds, and have about 40 more to go. I know it sounds like a lot, but I just gained a crap load of weight over the past 2 years....and need to get this off already...what better motivation then a beach wedding!!!??? I am currently being trained by my personal trainer fiance...he has me doing circuit training, and intervals. I am hoping to be able to get out my frustrations on here, and share my weight loss successes.

I see, I see! We are going to have the ceremony on the beach, so I am concerned with them tearing down the ceremony site and having the cocktail reception overlooking (they suggested I have the cocktails on the beach)......so I am thinking maybe having it elsewhere...not sure where though. Because we are going in October....are you concerned with the temperature at night? I am nervous that our guests are going to be cold. I would LOVE to meet up for a drink....

hmmmm.....very interesting!!!! I didn't even think about group pictures..perfect time to do it! We have the ceremony booked for 4:30p as well....I like the 6:30p dinner start, I think I will go for that as well! I was thinking of having the cocktail reception on the beach, we are also having our dinner reception at the plaza....what made you decide to do them both at the plaza if you don't mind me asking? We will be 2 days after you....but are landing on the 20th...maybe I will hide behind a tree or two and check yours out! What photographer are you going with?? (I am still shopping)!

I am going through the same thing right now.......I have booked our October ceremony for 4:30pm thinking it will be over at 5pm where we will go right into a cocktail reception on the beach, and then reception starting at 6pm>>>> apparently the sun sets at around 6-6:15p......so many questions...is this enough time to get photos done? should I start the ceremony at 4pm instead? or the dinner at 6p instead? does the private cocktail reception only take 1 hour?? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm......... anyone gone through it have advice?

Question for those of you that have your invitations done or in the works... Most of the sites I have searched say if you are paying for the wedding yourself, you don't have to put any of your parents names on the invitation... BUT...I am afraid that because we are still 8 months to our wedding, our parents haven't antied up anything because they still have time. There has been no conversation about anyone helping us (which is fine), but I am afraid they will down the road and then its too late to have them on the invitation... I was thinking of just putting "together with their families"....anyone have ideas?? (I really think everyone feels because they are getting themselves there, that is them helping us.....and its an expensive wedding to go to, and are totally forgetting they are going on vacation for a week at an all inclusive!)

I just checked out the lomas travel site today, my TA had me look into it.....I was thinking of a 3 hour cruise with canapes type food and drinks, but on their site its a sunset cruise with hor d.'s /drinks and then you stop at a beach and have dinner served there with a sparkling wine toast and a sax player. That is $87-$100 per person....depending on what dinner option you choose. I wasn't really wanting to make it a dinner...nor pay that much per person...so am still looking into it. I know that some private companies in the Mayan do this, I just get nervous...you just don't know!

When is everyone planning on doing their welcome cocktail party (for those that are having one)...??? I was thinking the day we land (as of right now, we are leaving 6:30am Toronto and arriving 9:30am Cancun)....but my TA brought to my attention that should we be delayed, it could be super tight. Also, would the guests want a planned event right away? My worry is that the point of it (to get to know everyone) will be lost a little a day and a half after we arrive! Any thoughts? As well, for those staying a week and going with the legal ceremony....which day out of your week are you planning your wedding day? I know we have to be in the Country for 3 business days, not sure what makes sense...?

Hello Melissa (I am a Melissa marrying a Chris in October of this year) I am unsure of what we are doing for this part either. Can a minister not perform the legal cermony? I didn't even think about their English not being the greatest...hmmmmmm..... I think I will still have the legal cermony either way, I just feel like it won't feel as special if I do it before...I know a lot do though and say it was great! Good Luck...it will be awesome either way! Mel

THANKS BIGBOP!!!! I do feel much better after the really nice messages of how late others are on things ( I guess misery really does love company!) Appreciated....many, MANY more questions to follow...I am going to look up the DJ you are using....any particular reasons why you chose him over some of the others the ladies are going with? Also, I forgot to mention to you that there is no reason for you to feel unorganized. We are all at different planning stages and we are all here to help each other. I too am REALLY undecided on alot of things re: our wedding, but I find that by coming here and reading up, I'm able to narrow down my desires versus things that don't catch my eye. These ladies are great, so lean on us if you need help! If it makes you feel better, I am 3 months away for our big date and haven't sent out invites yet. ;-) WELCOME!

Jessie: Thank you so much!!! I think you are right, I am going to have to compare the actual prices and what I was planning on adding and seeing if it makes sense. I have a gut feeling I will be going with the free package as most of the others have mentioned. I am not sure about photographers yet!!?? I am still working on that one!
-
What wedding package did everyone choose? I am undecided (on a lot of things), but am not sure if it makes sense to do the "free" pkg, and then add all the private reception pieces we want, or just go for a biggie (gold or whatever its called) and if that will be cheaper in the long run? Wondering what other brides are going with...... **sometimes I avoid coming to this site because I feel so unorganized...you all sound like you know EXACTLY what you want and I am so not there!!!!!!!
-
Just wondering why people were looking to other DJs then what they provide? Was it a tip from another bride that got some of you on Doremixx? (not that I know who he/she is, but I see others have used them). I am getting nervous about making these big decisions not hearing/seeing these people....curious how everyone else came to their decisions...

Yeah, that sounds a little strict. I thought ours was bad....we had to put a deposit to hold 40 spots in order for them to "block book"...so we paid for 40 and regardless, we don't get our money back on the 40 ($150 per person), and they are holding 10 more until 90 days before our date. But we have to have everyone booked 90 days from our booking date (by March 1st).... Does that make any sense? LOL

That means we will be there at the same time!! I am reading over the contract right now, but have our rooms booked etc. as of Monday, we will be getting married on October 24th, 2011 at Azul Sensatori! I am just figuring out what time I want to get married (I put 4pm on the contract)....what time did you choose? And, if you don't mind me asking, where did you choose your reception location? did you work with your TA on that? Congrats, this is so exciting!
