NEED ADVICE!! MAID OF HONOR ISSUES (VERY LONG)
Mwise17 replied to Soon2BNJersey's topic in Just venting or funnies
Happy to hear! -
If you read back a few pages, this topic was just discussed They just upped the vendor fee to $800, but there are a few of us on here that had a contract with them for some time now, as it use to be $500. A lot of brides fly their photographer down as you don't have to pay the vendor fee if they stay more then 3 nights....usually cheaper. Bringing an outside DJ (popular DJs in the area are Doremixx and Mannia)...now that is up for debate....when it was $500, Doremixx is $800 so it was still cheaper then paying for the Sensatori DJ anyway...now its a bit over.

I am pretty sure that Del Sol is on the banned list to Azul S., not sure about Azul Beach though, I would look into it. I have booked Luckie Photography for our up coming wedding in October, and went with DJ Doremixx (I also heard there might be a ban on DJ Doremixx now as well....things to ask your WC) I went with Luckie because the price was right, he seemed super passionate about capturing the day how YOU want it to look, and past brides that used him loved his work. I went with Doremixx over Mannia because of price mainly. I heard great things about both, but I liked that Doremixx included little favors like balloons/masks etc. for the guests to get down with.

Advice!!! Dinner: I am having the private event plated dinner. How long does this dinner service take? Do you just have your speeches etc. in and around the dinner? Is that normal practice these days? The reason I ask (need advice here), is that I have decided to do the white board guest book, and am trying to decide if I do it at the cocktail hour and have bestman/maid of honor go around and take the pic etc. OR do it after dinner with my photographer...but I only have him for 6 hours - dinner is at 7pm - he is gone at 9pm.....and don't want people getting up/feeling like they have to go over to do pic etc. with him during dinner. ???? but if we have him do it during dinner, we can have props etc. and it can be a kind of photo-booth at the same time??? HELP.

wedding day mishaps (feel free to add your own!)
Mwise17 replied to boscobel's topic in Just venting or funnies
My cousin married a real prize....she was doing shots in the limo after the ceremony, and when she got to the hall, she was hammered and came flying in the bathroom to throw up (as people were waiting in the receiving line for her)....my brother had his new girlfriend there, and the bride came out of the stall, staggering and said in front of a bunch of ladies freshening up..."WHO THE F*&$ ARE YOU????"..... THEN another cousin married, and drunk bride was there as a guest....where she got hammered again, and started a fight which ended in a massive brawl, police helicopters and a crying bride!!!! (I had the smarts to leave early as I felt the drama tension mounting) I made my own vows at the last wedding.....to not be in the same room as her ever again!!! -
NEED ADVICE!! MAID OF HONOR ISSUES (VERY LONG)

I am happy it all worked out. The exact same thing happened to me, my cousin was my MOH and I could tell she just wasn't happy for me! When I FINALLY picked the resort, she didn't even check it out!!!! (she travels to all inclusive resorts 3 x's a year....) It went on and on along the same lines...after agonizing about it forever, I finally had the talk and it did NOT go well, but I told her it wasn't fair to me and that I need to do whats best for me, and demoted her to BM....that was a month or so ago, and I am so glad that I did it!!!! She is actually helping so much more now, and there are no hard feelings between her and my new MOH (she was a bridesmaid)...SO happy with my decision. Good for you for getting the nerve to trust your gut... Heres to smooth sailing from here on out!!! -
Good job ladies!! I am going to start yoga this week and see how it goes. I hit the gym 3 times this week, ran yesterday and am going for a hike today. Feelin' good!

I went and picked out/ordered my wedding band today, check and check! PS....I emailed renaisance photography re: Erin B. and they said she still does shoots on the side...>YEAH!!!! I am so excited....just have to book something now. Thanks again! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

THanks Murmel...I would def. love if you could email me the original map [email protected] Thanks so much. I did book zavaz for the reception, but haven't decided on the ceremony site (have no clue what the difference between the 3 are)....I know you got married at the one by the pier...any particular reason you chose that over the other 2? Mel

THanks Big Bop!!! I have already booked the reception location, but had no idea about the other wedding location. For past brides that got married on the beach, which location did you choose? I know there is one by the pier, but not sure about the other. When do they tell you where your guests are to meet? I wanted to put a wedding day itinerary in the OOT bags, but wanted to say where they should be half hour before wedding, is it always the same meeting spot?
-
Thanks to Murmel, I found there are more than one option for the beach ceremony. Can you decide that when you get down there? Do they only do one wedding a day? *if you decide down there, are the options that far from each other if you say "beach ceremony" on your in-room itineraries that your guests can't miss it?

Thanks Murmel...yet again, saving my mind from excessive stress! Jaime.....that is awesome. I was going to may the $100 for the pomanders, get them put into a vase after for the centerpieces (which I am sure they would have charged me for....but this will be much cheaper and will have more impact. Love it! Did you bring down your own sheers? (did you get a package for the gazebo or just pay for the gazebo flowers/sheers a la carte?) Thanks again!

For 2 weeks, I have to cut the following.... -cow dairy (only goats milk allowed, soy-no sugar added) -All grains/potatoes including sweet potatoes -caffeine -alcohol Basically, I am only allowed to have fruits/veggies/protein sources are almond butter or other nuts - just no peanuts/fish/chicken/turkey - can't have oranges/tangerines/melon With this, I am taking certain suppliments -Probiotic-for estrogen balance -Fishoils-weight loss, skin moisture, hormonal balance and cravings -A hormonal blend of suppliments-Liver support, hormone balance -A Digestive blend of suppliments-Blood sugar balance, metabolism, healthy body composition -Magenesium/Calcium - to calm nervous system, for energy and craving control as well as to help with sleep -Relora *(I didn't know what it was until seeing the Naturopathic Dr....here is a bio on it. Relora is an exciting new natural anti-anxiety/stress relief ingredient to control stress-related eating and drinking that has the added value of being non-sedating with potential anti-depressant properties. In central nervous system receptor binding assays, the plant extracts in Relora bind to several important targets associated with anxiety. It does not bind to the benzodiazepine receptors that would cause sedation, yet has the relaxing qualities of the benzodiazepine class of drugs in a validated anxiolytic animal model. In addition, it normalizes hormone levels associated with stress-induced obesity and eating/drinking behavior. After the 2 weeks, I need to incorporate things back in slowly (ie. dairy day one - then off the rest of the week to see how my body reacts) Things I have been told to avoid as much as I can (even after detox etc.) -Any diet beverages (its the aspartame, apparently reeks havoc on your hormonal health) -Sugar (obvious) -Alcohol -Your white breads/rices etc. I started on Monday and am feeling good. I have more energy already. I will keep you posted on how it goes! Congrats on all your hard work, keep it up!!!!!!!! It will all be worth it in the end!
