I looked at this tread a lot and want to contribute my dress as well! I bought in a few weeks ago and love it! Tried on about 30 dresses in one day so was slightly overwhelmed... don't do what I did! Can't wait to wear it in 8 months!!!!!! It'll come in sometime in July and it's Allure 8815
I realllllly liked this one too, but tried it on without my mom and didn't tell her (before buying "my" dress). Sometimes I think I like this one more (San Patrick Eresma).... I need to get over it though!

Hello hello! 11/18/11 Dreams PV for me. And we live in Lakeview!
-
Update! I just bought a Living Social deal $10 for $50. It was a little tricky and had to chat with a Vista Print rep to get the credit but it worked out. 20 tote bags turned out to be $30 instead of $80. Then all this was free over the course of 4 orders, only had to pay shipping!
3 tote bags
4 Pens
3 Shirts
1 Hat
50 Brochures
300 Post Cards
Return Address Labels
2 Post it note pads
20 calendar magnets
10 sheets of letter head
“Eat, Drink, Be Married†rubber stamp
I'll post pictures when they come in!
I am DONE with Vista Print for a while!!!! LOL

I just received my ring bearer shell and flower girl basket set from Etsy and it is too cute!!! I can't post pictures (I need more points?) but here's the link:
Was shipped really fast too.

Here are the bottles to use (they were listed in the Martha Stewart article)! I haven't ordered them yet, waiting on a better head count, but when I do I'll let everyone know if the bottles are big enough to get paper in and out

1. Budget. About $3,500 and it is included in our overall "wedding" budget
2. Type. Formal, but no sit down dinner. Passed hor d'hourves, open bar, dancing. No DJ though, we'll be bringing our own music/system.
3. When. 2 months after
4. Food. Heavy appetizers
5. Clothes. My wedding gown... why not right!
6. Invitations. Formal... sending them out right before our Mexico wedding (2 months before AHR)
7. Photographer. Nope. But I might change my mind on that...
8. Cake. Nope. Rasberry tarts and other assorted desserts!
9. Decorations. Lots of candles! Our venue is already so gorgeous so it won't need much.
10. DW Photos. Yes! Not sure how yet... maybe a photo book and a few select pictures in nice frames?

Thanks for posting the pic! I haven't figured that out yet :-) And instead of using a glass vase to hold the sand/bottles, I'm thinking of bringing a tray of some kind (wood maybe?) so it doesn't break in our luggage. Haven't decided yet!

Hello fellow brides! I found this in a magazine and wanted to share. We won't be doing specefic place cards at each seat, but I want certain guests at certain tables, so I think I'll be doing this as a DIY!
Anyone else try this before? Thoughts?!

Hey Sofiavig - the vases I ordered are pretty light and small... so i'm planning to put them in my carry on and keep them in the original shipping boxes!
rpage06 - we already sent out save the dates in Feb for our 11-18-11 wedding! We'll be sending out invites in June, though I kind of want to just get them out! We thought about not doing response cards... since people are already booking and we have a good idea of who's going, but most of my friends/family recommend doing cards. I haven't decided yet!

So pretty! I'm planning on doing this as well, actually just bought the vases on Oriental Trading, but wondering if 1) you got stopped at security for carrying on glass and 2) if the candles blew out at the reception? We'll be outside near the beach and now I'm worried the candles won't even stay lit!

11/18/11 for me and I'm already feeling the need to buy things!!!! Just purchased some OOT bag items and vases for our centerpieces on Oriental Trading and some post cards and other things on Vista Print. Is it way too early to be buying little things already? I want to get as much done now as possible and don't want to spend all my $$ later on.
Is anyone else starting to buy things or am I out of control?

Another vistaprint addict here! Just placed 2 orders for $30 with shipping for:
25 Pre-wedding brochures
100 "Welcome" post cards for OOT bags
100 "Thank you" post cards for after the wedding
3 tote bags
2 pens
10 sheets of letterhead
and a "Future Mrs...." Tshirt
Amazing!!!! Oh, I love this forum.

Hi Lauren - I'm thinking about using our bouquets as centerpieces as well... did they charge you to use vases from the resort?
And I've asked about fabric for the huppah and it sounds like even the regular white material they charge you for. Not sure how much though...

Hi SarahInLove -
They really do need to describe things more. Although I have a feeling they do this to make even more money, which is why we're pretty much doing everything a la carta.
With any private reception white table clothes/napkins are included as well as chairs with white covers. We're upgrading to the Tiffany Chairs.... I just love the look of them!

Congrats Krista! I also live in Chicago and am getting married Nov. 2011 at Dreams PV! What's your wedding day? Ours is 11/18/11.
Anyone see the news on fuel prices spiking = higher airfare?? Getting a little worried about our guests!
-
kerrib you're the best! I heard back from Esman about the times and he said the reception was originally quoted for 3 hours. A 4 hour reception (6:30 - 10:30) is an extra $15 a person. Ridiculous!!!! I've been emailing him for weeks, mentioned the 4 hour reception and he only responded that the DJ would be extra. So, I'll see what I can do. We're already giving Dreams so much money for our wedding and all of our guests staying there. Another $800 for an extra hour is out of control. Has anyone else been quoted this fee???
-
We definitely want to hire a DJ (reception at Dreams PV) but does anyone have a recommendation?? I've heard the Dreams DJ is awful.....!!!
-
Question for all the Dreams PV brides out there! I'm getting mixed emails about the actual timing for our wedding. Have any of the WC's told you how many hours total you can have your events (ceremony + photos + reception)? I'd like to have the ceremony 4:30 - 5. Photos from 5 - 6:15. Reception 6:30 - 10:30.
Has anyone else been able to secure a similar time block? I'm getting worried that they're going to kick us out or something....
Thanks!!!
-
I had the same questions/concerns about the deposit and Esman explained that the deposit goes through when you actually book a hotel room. I just booked my room through our travel agent and the next day the deposit had been posted. Our wedding is in Nov. Strange but maybe that's the hold up!
-
I was originally working with Louise but Esman has slowly been responding for her... and now I only talk to Esman. He is AWESOME and way more on top of things. I guess he's been working there a while in overall event management (conferences and whatnot) but they promoted him to WC. So, I'm sure he'll be ok since Dreams will just give him all the vendor info.
I hope!

Hey ladies! We're getting married 11/18/11 at Dreams PV. Beach ceremony and reception on the Las Palmas Terrace. Yayyyy!
-
11/18/11 using the Dreams WC (Louise) and my own DIY touches here and there!
Doing the bonfire on the 17th and reception at las palmas. They've said 10:30 for me... so they better not kick is out early!
-
Okay.... I'm trying to make sense of this as well! We're planning to have a friend get ordained and perform our "symbolic" ceremony at Dreams in PV. We'll get the marriage liscense before we go, and then can our officiant sign the papers at our wedding in mexico and drop it off at the county clerk after we get back? Does the court need to know (or will they find out) that we said our vows out of the country???
I'd rather not say our vows before we leave.... so tricky!
