A week from Sunday we have our engagement picture session! I'm so excited! I have NO clue what to wear, but I made sure to get my hair done and have a mani right before. I debating on whether or not to get my makeup done professionally or not. Now just to figure out what to wear! -

Great planning thread! It looks like it was a beautiful wedding! I love they men's' suits. Did you get their shirts from there also? Congrats! -
I am not a post bride yet, but I would assume not. I don't know how long your ceremony would be, but 3 hours is not much, and I'm sure you'll be surprised by how quickly that time goes. What about photos of you getting ready? I think the worst would be to feel rushed. The last thing you need is to have that extra stress to get to the things you really want covered (all the bridal party and bride/groom pictures you want, toasting...etc). I would hate to look back and wish I had a little more time to do this particular pose, or that particular location. For me photography is one of the most important aspects of our day. It is what we will look back on for the rest of our lives to remember one of our most important days of our lives! I do understand being on a budget though! All in all I think it's about what will make you the most happy at the end of the day. Go with your gut! Only you know what you really want and whats most important to you! Good Luck!!

Hey ladies! I was going through my photographer's slide shows, and saw a few for Dreams Cancun! I really love the resort! There are some great pictures of ceremony/recpetion sites as well as all around resort photos. I think you can get some great ideas for decor and what not. I LOVE the gazebo! Thought I would share! Happy Planning! http://www.delsolphotography.com/vincent/weddings/may&yili/ http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=317 http://www.delsolphotography.com/vincentguihard/weddings/sherry&bo/ http://www.delsolphotography.com/vincent/weddings/trish&matt/

Welcome FutureRN2011! You will find lots of great advice, support, and ideas on here! It has been a life saver for me! Congrats and happy planning! -
So the pick up went smoothly, which seems to be common...but what I wonder about is what happens when your coordinator (or whoever) sees you with a bunch of bouquets that THEY did not give you? Did she say/do anything? I'm sure it was obvious enough you used an outside vendor...I want to do this too, but I'm worried about that!

This link may be helpful also. It is a list of slide shows of different resorts in the Riviera Maya. They are amazing and really showcase the resorts and surrounding areas...and of course has beautiful weddings! http:// http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/wiki/del-sol-photography-slideshows-riviera-maya

Hello and WELCOME!!!! I knew I wanted to do a DW when we decided to plan the big day. I did a lot of searching for the best places. It took me a few months to decide on Cancun (the most affordable for us), but once I did the next task was picking a resort...and there are TONS! I honestly used this forum on to help me decide. Read reviews of any place that you are interested in. Look at pictures. Look at packages. We ended up choosing Moon Palace because it was close to the airport (so no one had to be in the car for long after the flight), they had a place I could have a Catholic ceremony, and the price. PLUS if you get so many rooms booked you can have free unlimited events (ie welcome dinner, cocktail hour, reception...etc). You have come to the right place to get you started! All the ladies on here are SUPER friendly and helpful. Never hesitate to ask a question (even if you think it's dumb), because I promise we have all been there at some point! Congratulations and Happy Planning!!

After LOTS of searching, I found these! They aren't too expensive even with personalization! I might just use these! I love that they come in 2 colors too. I would do pink and green then switch the straws! Check them out! http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/sports-bottles/2276/16-oz-double-wall-acrylic-tumbler-with-straw.htm

Hey Ladies! I was thinking about things I would put in my OOT bags for my guests, and I thought about how much I LOVE my 20 oz insulated Starbucks cup with the straw! However those are like $20 and of course say "Starbucks". Does anyone know of a good place to get these cheap and/or possibly personalized? Or even good ideas to personalize them yourself?? Thank you so much!!!

This is awesome! I want to do a BD so bad, but I can't say I am the most confidant person when it comes to my body! I would be worried I would have unflattering poses...and I don't know if I know how to do a "sexy" face! Haha! I don't think I will do mine until the fall to give me some time to get in shape and find the PERFECT outfits!

Royal Cancun
krsmith replied to cruzer01's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hey Ladies!! I was going through my photographer's slide shows and saw a couple for The Royal! I love the Royal! What a beautiful resort! It was a top contender in my search for a resort. In the end MP had all the things we wanted. I thought I would share since they have some great shots of the resort, and have some great ceremony/reception shots that can give some good ideas! Hope it helps! http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=179 (great shots of the gazebo and lawn reception) http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=269 (great shots of beach set up and an AMAZING cocktail hour) http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=368 (great shots of a terrace reception with dance floor) I have Rachel with La Luna booked and I am SO excited! Jonathan was my other pick. It was so hard!!! They are both amazing! I can't stop looking at their photos! You can't go wrong with either company. They are top notch without a doubt! Here is La Luna's site with all the photographers' portfolios: http://lalunaphotographers.com/ Happy Planning!!! -
I couldn't agree more! I have had NOTHING but the best communication from Melissa and the Del Sol/ La Luna family. Whenever I start to stress about the resort or other vendors not responding, I can't thank my lucky stars enough that I have them to work with. I am addicted to their work and can't ever get enough! I am going to have Rachel with La Luna for our wedding day, and as a treat for ourselves have Matt from Del Sol do our TTD. You get what you pay for and it is obviously one of the best investments you could make!

Moon Palace 2012 Brides
krsmith replied to krsmith's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Well I never expected to do a DIY monogram or spend the money to have one made, BUT when I found the 3 for $20 from Allurements by Rebecca, I figured WHY NOT?!? I should have my first draft today I think! Now we can maybe use them on totes and what not. They are simple, but cute! Much better than what I could do! -
Introducing La Luna Photographers
krsmith replied to Matt Adcock's topic in Destination Wedding Vendor Marketplace
I can't even tell you how happy I am that you put La Luna together! I am a budget friendly kind of bride, but for me photography is the MOST important part...La Luna is a no brainer! Del Sol quality but at a price for those of us that has to be budget/price conscious! I look forward to working with you guys as you have already made my planning process so much easier and less stressful! Thanks!! -

I can honestly say that I am SOOO THRILLED to have Rachel booked as our photographer on our wedding day! Not only is her work incredible, but at a price that my FI and I are comfortable with. I think I am most excited to work with her and see all the great photos she gets (after marry my wonderful FI of course)! Here is a link to slide shows of the weddings Rachel has done: http:// http://lalunaphotographers.com/blog/galleries/rachel/weddings/ I am counting the days!
