We have not set up an "official" contract with our TA. But once we set up a room block, we have to put up an initial payment that will ultimately go towards our stay at MP. I told everyone we would be making the room block available in April. So far I really like having a TA. There are times I had some confusion about what MP told me about what we would have to pay for a room block and our TA contacted them to make sure they would honor the lowest amount...even if people went through our TA. She will go to bat for us if we ever have any problems! I definitely make sure I keep EVERY email I send/receive in a folder just in case! No matter what, get everything in writing! -

That website has such cute stuff!!!! Ohhhh I have a feeling I'm gonna get outta control with it! Haha! I think I will probably do my session either in May (depending on if I can get my butt in the gym) or sometime in the summer. I will probably need to do a girls trip though...no fun to go all the way down there by myself! Thanks for all the helpful info! Your hubby to be is gonna LOVE your pics! -

I have clip ins too! I definitely need those for sexified hair! MAC is the BEST! I am a Mac "pro", so I use my discount all the time and spend WAY too much money there! I guess I will have to start scouting for outfits. Where did you find yours? Victoria's Secret seems pretty obvious, but I kind of want to venture out. I'm going to have to start thinking about some creative props to bring with me too. SO HARD!!! I love your shoes too...I have a small shoe fetish, so I would have to pick from the rainbow of colors I have. Pink is kind of my signature color, but blue is very "wedding"! I'm glad to hear she is easy to work with. I will be SUPER nervous as I am crazy self concious. I will have to practice my "sexy" face! Haha! -

Welp...I had my first "don't think we will be coming" due to "concerns about safety". I guess I had to expect it to happen at some point! I just had to do my best to be supportive and try not to sound pushy in any way. I wanted to be ready for this, so I put together an email to send to the people who might say that with websites and articles about how the risks are SO LOW in Cancun! I hope this will help convince people that its ok to go to Mexico! I actually am thinking about putting up a page on our website dedicated to reassuring people they have nothing to be scared of! Here is just ONE good site I found! http://www.cancunissafe.com/tag/is-mexico-safe-to-travel/ -

I forgot to ask! Did you do your own hair and makeup or was tht part of the session? What about attire? I love the pearls and the outfits! Super cute! I'm definitely thinking about taking a road trip down there...and she said she might possibly be coming up my way in May (Olympia I think). I better get my butt into the gym ASAP!!! -

So after reading some posts on MP 2010 Brides, I saw that someone said that you DO NOT have to do the Immaculate Conception package to do a Catholic ceremony! SHOOT! We already paid 50% of the package too. There are lots of things I don't really feel like I want. I wonder if its possible to switch to the complimentary package at this point and add on as we go. Hmmmm...I will be sending an email soon I guess! -
I'm so glad this thread was started! We also cannot afford to do a site visit, so this will be a HUGE help! We are having the Catholic ceremony, so we will be in the chapel, but I have been trying to figure out how to choose a location for the reception!!! If anyone goes, would you take LOTS of pics of all the reception areas?? I also would love pics of each of the different sides. We are trying to decide on doing our room block in either Nizuc or Sunrise! THANK YOU xMILLION!!!!

I hear ya! I really liked these photographers we were going to use when we were going to get married in our hometown. But when we added up the costs for the photography PLUS the travel expenses, it was WAY more than what we wanted to spend, and at that point we might as well have gone with Del Sol. I am happy with my decision to go with La Luna. Since they are the sister company of Del Sol, their work is very similar. We signed up for a registry through them, so hopefully if enough people contribute we can get Matt or Sol from Del Sol for our TTD. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! Is everyone working on your invites yet? I'm still trying to decide if I want to attempt DIY boarding pass invites or have them made. I tried a playing around with templates and the programs, but I think I might be boarding pass illiterate! LOL! How far in advance is everyone sending their invites out? Does anyone know if you can ship anything down to MP? I feel like I have seen that you can't, but how much easier would that make everything?!? A friend brought up looking into sending stuff to a shipping depot and picking it up when you get there. -

We are going with Rachel from La Luna! We haven't decided whether or not we are doing a TTD with her of Del Sol. Depends on finances.....BUT I'm sooooo excited for their beautiful work! I'm hoping she will make me look thin and fabulous! Haha -
I love it! I especially LOVE your BM dresses! They are the cutest things ever! I tried to find her on Etsy, but it says her profile doesn't exist. I googled her and saw her website...I was SHOCKED at the prices! Cheapest starting at $500 on up to like $3k! I can't imagine she charged that much for her dresses on Etsy! UGH!!! Just when I see BM dresses I like, it ends up being WAY out of my price range. DARN!

Man it looks like everyone is getting married in April! Now I feel left out!!! Ha Ha. Our ceremony will be at 4, but after we picked that our photographer said we should do 3pm because the sun sets around 5:30pm and we won't have much time for pics after the ceremony. I tried to switch it to 3, but it was already taken! SHOOOOOOOT! I guess I didn't realize the sun set so early...makes sense since it sets that early in the states!!! Wow apparently I don't always use my brain! -

Congrats! Happy planning!!! -
Well Ladies, This is a little overdue, but better late than never right!? So I ended my 30 days of HCG Jan 30th and moved on to Phase 3 on Feb 3rd. By the end of my round I had lost 14lbs! Which averages out to be about .5 lbs a day (which is the average for women). Not too shabby! Of course I would have loved to lose more, but I am working on it, and still have a good 11 months to get myself where I need to be. Before I do round 3 of HCG, I am doing a 30 day cleanse with Isagenix. Today I am on day 3, and feel really good! I just figure I would get better weight loss results if I did a good detox and got all the crap out of my system...especially as toxins are stored in your fat cells! I will be done right before my FI and I head to Orlando April 3rd for a little vacay, then I will do another round of HCG. Good luck to you ladies!

JLCarrera- Not imprudent at all! That is what this forum is for after all! I have costs for both Del Sol and La Luna actually. I would definitely contact them at some point though. You will fill out a questionnaire about your day and they will get back to you about what package they think would be best to fit everything in on your big day. Melissa is who you would be talking with, and she is absolutely GREAT! She has answered EVERY question I had (very nicely too), and even helped me with picking a resort by sending me tons of albums of all the photographers' work at various resorts. Anyways, there are quite a few different costs...depending on the photographer and the package. There are a lot of extras also (TTD, albums...etc). La Luna: Rachel: from $1650 (3 hours coverage) to $4400 (8 hours coverage) Jonathan: from $1500 (3 hours coverage) to $4000 (8 hours coverage) Melissa: from $1200 (3 hours coverage) to $3200 (8 hours coverage) Playa Del Carmen TTD $1250 all photographers Del Sol: Matt or Sol: from $4750 (5 hours coverage) to $6650 (7 hours coverage) TTD $2000 (beach) $3000 (cenote) $3500 (beach & cenote) Vincent: from $3500 (5 hours coverage) to $4900 (7 hours coverage) TTD $1600 (beach) Juan Jose: from $3250 (5 hours coverage) to $4550 (7 hours coverage) TTD $1400 (beach) Hope this helps! We still haven't decided on who we are doing our TTD session with. We are kind of waiting to see what funds will be. If we have the money I want to do a Beach TTD with Matt or Sol....if not I think we will stick with Rachel. We thought about using Juan Jose for our TTD too, but I think they both do great work, so I don't know if its worth the extra $150 to have Del Sol's name. If we use Del Sol we would go ALL the way and want Matt or Sol! I don't know though...tough decisions as they are ALL fabulous! Good Luck with your planning! -

Merrylee- How terrible! I can't imagine that! That is just so low...you know he will regret it if not right away, as soon as he sees all your pictures! Wow people continue to amaze me! I would love to have a little chat with all the people who think that everything is about them...but of course that would solve nothing and create more drama! We just have to keep doing what we are doing, and have the most fabulous wedding ever! I am about to send out a reminder email to everyone to make sure they give us a preliminary RSVP so we can set up a somewhat accurate room block. So far only our parents and my Uncle have actually done that like we asked on our STD. I'm gong to give everyone until April before I make the block! -
Hey ladies! Thought I would start a thread for the Seattle area brides out there! Maybe we could all be a support to each other and help each other with any info/resources that's in our area. Maybe even have meet-ups for some good times and DIY/planning parties!
