Sandals Antigua Brides??
JB321 replied to carolinechc's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Hey Melody, I don't know if your still on the forum, but I read you were doing the Chic and Natural theme. I also picked that theme! Overall, I am happy with how things are going, but I am a little nervous about planning a destination wedding. We did visit the resort this past spring and saw two beautiful beginning weddings going on. Our favorite wedding gazebo is not on the map, but it is tucked away on the Caribbean side next to the Garden Rondovals (#9 on the map). It is very private and we loved it. Do not be concerned about the ceremony and decor not looking like the pictures. It was exactly like the pictures and the wedding department on site was very professional and knowledgeable. Melody -

You def put a lot of effort into this wedding! Great job! Congrats and Have fun! -
Even though I'm not in love with my fiances last name, I'm in love with him and want to keep a sense of family so I will keep his. I will also keep my last name as my middle name since that is also what they do in my culture.

Hey Diamond, I think I know what dress your talking about. Maybe the Billie? I took a look at her new collection and it looks like she added the t strap to a lot of her gowns. It's popular now. I also was thinking about the Reese, (like the Caprice, with the open front) http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3240 but I thought it was more cocktail. But I have seen some brides in it and it looked wonderful. I think it's more for an evening wedding though. Just my thoughts. I think I may have found my shoes! I was looking for something with a lot of bling, sort of cinderella-ish so these Jimmy Choos were one I looked at...http://coolspotters.com/shoes/jimmy-choo-quinze-sandal. I saw it on some sites for. I also saw it online They also have a newer version.. http://www.jimmychoo.com/sandals/zafira/invt/015zafirasue/ I also fell in love with several Loubotins from their bridal too.. http://us.christianlouboutin.com/bridal.html Shoes are hard, I guess I will fig it out as I get closer. I like the colorful shoe idea too..but I don't think I'm going that route..only thing I know I want is a very sexy/ blingy shoe, 3 in plus. -
Congrats!!! Wish nothing but the best for you both of you!

Sandals Brides-----Roll call
JB321 replied to Tennyt1's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
OMG The dreaded OOT bags! I am trying to figure out mines as we speak. Since mines is in Jamaica (like you Tenny), I was going to include blue mountain coffee, appleton rum, a Personalized reggae cd mix (with pop jamaican artists like Sean Kingston etcc also), shot glasses, and another jamaican favor..not sure what. I love the idea of the hangover kit as well! I sort of wanted to give them memorable things and items they can'y buy. Since sandals is an all inclusive I know they won't need much, and my guests are the type to bring their own first aid kits, sunblock etc anyways. (Over packers lol). -
Thanks Katelynn, I am well aware lol. We have 100 guests coming so they've been a little flexible with me.(Customer is always right My only outside vendor is a photographer, but I am also using theres as well. Just wanted more of a pro to be safe. They also have several add ons and other features they don;t always mention online so I've also added a bunch of those. HAPPY PLANNING!

Sandals Brides-----Roll call
JB321 replied to Tennyt1's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Hey Ladies!! I've been trying to find mors Sandlas Brides myself and felt like I was the only one posting for a while lol. I'm getting married May 14, 2011 @ SGOR as well Tennyt1! I went with the Chic and Natural theme and have been adding on just about everything lol. We plan on having 75-100 guests. Here are a couple things we added: 4 tier cake, ice scupltures, violins (for walk down aisle), band for first hour, and dj for last 2 hours of reception, rose petals down aisle, and candle light rose petal walk while for entrance for reception, custom lighting for reception and welcome/rehersal dinner, sand ceremony, cupcakes, I'm sure theres more prob. When I first heard about all of the "extras" we could add we went a little crazy and I wanted to make it my own as much as I could. Photography package we did there biggest one with the videographers, and we're also trying to bring in an outside photgrapher as a back up since I wasn't wowed by their own. (Pulling the strings on that as we speak). Some photos were cute and then the others were to say the least. I felt like any of my friends could take those shots. We've been to the resort before back in 2008 so we are familiar. We still have to pick rehersal/reception/ and ceremony locations. Even though we've been there, it doesn't make it any easier. I def do not want a beach wedding, thats the only thing I'm sure of since I know I'll get annoyed by the wind and sand in my face. I thnking more of a tropical garden setting, but we are def going to take pics on the beach. MRS.J, you sound a lot like myself. I was a little like wth? Why arent there as many sandals brides? A ll I can tell you is that I've been there and loved my experience with Sandals, we had a great time. But the thing I hate is the restrictions that Sandals try to impose on such a special day. I want the ceremony to feel like us, and that obv means spending more money.. which is a bummer. Either way I know it will be a day to remember. FYI: I didn't even think to use a TA. I've noticed that so many people have. I'm sort of a bridezilla so have been doing everything myself and did enough research to write a book lol. But I plan on using one when we book our honeymoon. Luckily I've had great WC's, but I know how to play the game as well. You can always get your way I can't wait to share info with you ladies. Congrats! -

How getting wedding stuff to resort?
JB321 replied to rpingree001's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
My resort advised me not to send anything there because sometimes luggae can get "lost" etc, so I have to pack suitcases as well. I have yet to book my flight, trying to wait for after the holidays. Hopefully it all works out. I can already tell I'm going to be stressed about this.. -
Welcome and Congrats! This site is truly addictive! I agree...

Alternative to OOT Bags?
JB321 replied to Tina5978's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I'm glad you posted this! I was debating what to put in my welcome kits and whether or not to even do it. I think less can definetly be more in certain cases. I think I will just do a welcome letter, shot glas, jamaican rum and coffee, a reggae cd, and a mug, and hand them out to guests during our welcome party as well. Thanks for the advice ladies! -
