  1. That doesn't help many of us Michael Weiler, HDC are not overseas and are not registered guests at the hotel which would mean we can't use any of them and are stuck with Dreams photography This super sucks as I haven't booked prior to March 16th. Corporate NEEDS to change this policy ASAP. Super bummed
  2. Hi Renee, I'm considering having my wedding at the Colonial but I'm so confused as to the reception options/prices they have! I've tried going to their website but there is virtually no information on any packages/prices. Can you please tell me what were your options, and if you can remember prices? I've tried reading some posts on the board regarding this but I'm even more confused now. Can you have a standard reception with dinner dancing, dj and speeches? All I've read is sit down dinners and buffets. Please help me with any info you may have I'd really appreciate it!
  3. No, if you have your email already entered at some point they should send you it. Even so, if you're in a nearby Old Navy enter it before March 12th just to be sure to get the invite.
  4. I actually work at Old Navy and we do carry Linen pants and shirts for men! We also have little guayabera's or "hawaiian" shirts for toddler boys in case anyone wants to outfit their ring bearers in them. I'd say hold off though for atleast a few more days..we have a friends and family event next week, and all you have to do is go in and put your email address in, and you'll receive an invite for 30% of all your purchases for about 3 days. Hope this helps anyone
  5. I have to admit that I did enjoy the beach at Majestic alot more, only because it is calmer and clearer. The beach at Dreams Punta Cana is a little rougher, and there is alot of seaweed, and coral at the bottom. You have to walk to the left of the ocean where there isn't as much coral. Also, Majestic had alot more huts and the sand is a lot finer, and whiter. The reason why the beaches are a bit different is because Dreams' beach is on the Atlantic side, where as Majestic's beach is on the carribean side. Hope this helps
  6. I've been to both Dreams, and Majestic. I attended a wedding at Majestic and it was beautiful, the resort seems a little more modern than Dreams, but I've decided that I'll be having mine at Dreams. For starters, I'm a native Dominican, and even I got a little sick from eating some of the food. It might have been the shrimp at Sea and See, not sure. A number of us did get sick, one took about 3 days to get better totally bed ridden, and another had to get a very expensive shot to feel better. Majestic is very beautiful but when you look at the small details, I prefer Dreams. Dreams' nightly shows were more elaborate, and entertaining, while Majestic's seemed a little more amateur. The bedrooms at Majestic were a little more contemporary, but to be honest, how much time will you be really spending in a room? I heard from a few that Majestic charges for open bar at weddings, while Dreams does not. At the wedding I attended, the bride and grrom ended up buying liquor duty free at the airport and just brought it to the reception, they ended up providing their own liquor. I had visited Dreams twice befor attending this wedding at Majestic and to be honest, I spent most of my time comparing it to Dreams. I liked the layout of the grounds at Dreams alot better, the pool to me was nicer (biggest in Punta Cana) and I actaully liked the rooms better too. The dark majogany furniture in Majestic's rooms made the rooms seem a little bit less brighter than Dreams' rooms, and I actually thought that the service was a little bit better at Dreams too. For example by day three of my visit at Dreams the guy who made the omelettes at breakfast already knew my name and what I would like on my omelette, where as when I went to the bar by the beach at Majestic, it took the bartender a long time to even acknowledge me and take my drink order, once I did I asked him if he could slip some ice in the drink so that it wouldn't be hot by the time I reached the beach and he acted quite annoyed. I was on vacation and a very easy going person so his reaction merely just annoyed me a tad bit. It made me compare Majestic to Dreams once again, and Dreams won. Dreams is also a bit less expensive for our guests to stay at, and their packages offer more bang for their buck. So in my opinion, I'll go with Dreams
  7. Thanks for the suggestion! Do you happen to have any pics of your set up?
  8. Does anyone know how much they charge for each flower centerpeice that would go on the reception tables? I'm looking at the site and I think its $100 each but that seems a little steep. Am I right?
  9. May I please have an email sent with the flowers as well? My email is [email protected]. Thanks in advance!
  10. Thank you so much! Knowing how much to buget is important, it's a question not many brides are willing to share Thank you again.
  11. I saw a similar question in another post but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the total cost of everything was for their wedding? I'm pretty much set on Dreams Punta Cana but I'd like to know what I'll be realistically spending so that I can budget accordingly. I've seen the prices on the site, but I'd just like to know a real total of the cost. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
  12. Genius idea, I never would've thought of that! I wish they would carry the dress in a pink since ill be using pink as my color though hopefully they'll add new color soon.
  13. Is Michael Weiler based out of Punta Cana or do you have to fly him out there? Also, what do his package prices look like? I've heard a lot of great things about Huellas Del Caribe but after seeing some of Michael's work, I'm leaning towards booking him.. I'm just a bit afraid of what it will cost us..Any help will be appreciated
  14. I was thinking of having the ceremony on the beach but after looking at some pictures of previous weddings I didn't like the floral arch that they used. It looked to simple and somewhat flimsy? Do they still use the same arch?
  15. thanks lyndsay! I'm guess I will need to buy two sets one for the ceremony and one for the reception since they probably won't have time to take the ones off from the ceremony and take them to the reception hall? also, can you have your own music played during the ceremony at the gazebo?
  16. Can anyone please tell me if the resort provides the sashes that will be on the chairs both at the ceremony and reception? Or are we supposed to take our own?
