  1. Sabrina, Your pictures are fantastic! Your photographer has done a great job! After seeing your pics, I'm so happy we picked the beach resort!
  2. Good to know you can use those lights if you buy out the restaurant! I'm thinking we will do that to have a private reception. Our booking deadline is Feb. 15th for the group rate, so we should know in a few days if we have 40 or so people coming. I'm sure the best place to get paperlanterns in online. I saw some LED lights at michael's, but i'm not sure if you can put them in the paper lanterns. (I really don't want a fire at our wedding!)
  3. I don't think I'm on this list either! Marlena & Brian December 5th, 2011 Iberostar Rose Hall BEach Resort!
  4. I'm thinking about asking my girls this week. Our travel agent wants us booked by Feb. 15th, so those who've booked are going to be there ! (hopefully) and then I can sort out my bridesmaids. I guess since it's not too formal we can get dresses somewhere downtown Toronto. There's endless shopping here! I would like to have 4 in total. I know we will have 4 groomsmen, so I guess I wait and see who books this week!
  5. The Bob Marley tour is fun! We went 3 years ago and they tour you around his house and you see his tomb and they talk about his family and they make you sing songs. (they also try to sell you Bob's favourite smoke too) Dunns River is beautiful, and the climb is harder than you think! I'm thinking about the appleton rum tour ? Have anyone done that ? Or even to tour the old house at Rose Hall wouldn't take very long to do from the resort. More time for tanning on the beach!
  6. I'm using Air Canada Vacations. They have an early booking bonus now if you pay in full by March 1st, you get $250 off. At least I know Air Canada will use Air Canada planes! The only thing is that I mailed our STD's last Friday. I don't know where they are. No one has recieved anything!! Worst part about it is they were mailed downtown Toronto at the post office. How does the largest post office lose my STD's ?! But anyways, we threw together an email last night and sent out our booking info...hopefully sometime next week people will recieve it!
  7. I found the info on Vegetarian Options for the beach resort: Stir Fried Tofu with Asian Vegetables & Steamed Basmati Rice Or Filled Ravioli with Ricotta Cheese in Spinach Cream Sauce, Sautéed Wild Mushrooms & Broccoli Or Steamed Oriental Cous Cous with Raisin and Pine Nuts On grilled Vegetables and Balsamic Reduction Or “Rasta Pasta “ Penne Pasta tossed with Island Vegetables , Ackee, Scotch Bonnet, Garlic & Shaved Parmesan Cheese Or Stuffed Crepe with Grilled Mediterranean Vegetables On Tomato Confit & Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce
  8. Breeze616, Do you know what day the Jamaican night was at the buffet ? I've had a few people ask me about that! They are really looking forward to the food.
  9. I'm definately wearing shoes. Then I can go get a pair of Jimmy Choo's and have a really good reason!
  10. Jacki7896, All I have done is the STD and bought a dress too! I don't think I have anything to do for a while...We started booked our travel, but that's it. Have you asked anyone to be bridesmaids ? I'm afraid some of mine will get pregnant between now and then and I'm not sure when to ask them
  11. Iced Coffee, your dress is gorgeous! Is is light ? I tried on so many dresses and I finally went with a chiffon ivory gown, with crystals similar to yours! It will be very pretty when you walk down the beach!
  12. I guess it looks a little small there!! Let me figure out how to post a real pic!
  13. Here is mine! set in platinum! (I made it my profile pic since it's so sparkly!)
  14. Hi Vaneska, I'm thinking about votive candles on the tables with shells that I make one of the kids in our wedding party collect off the beach the day before the wedding! (hopefully that works out ok) The other thing I was thinking was paper lanterns with the LED lights in them to hang around. That's all I have come up with so far. I mean, we could order a bunch of flower centerpieces, then some of our guests could always take them back to their rooms for the rest of the week ? I don't know what else to do either
  15. Vegetarians, I know there is some sort of vegetarian dish listed on the menu, you just have to order a minimum of 2 and they will make it for you (according to the menu list Tameica sent me 2 weeks ago) Once I find it, I will post it for you
  16. DeAngelis2Be, I saw someplace on this site that the pool games start at 4, Im not sure about the grand, but I'm thinking about 330 on the beach will be nice. Remember, the sun will set around 5pm when we get married in December, it depends on how much time you want for pictures with the sun still shining

Welcome! I've just starting planning our wedding in Jamaica. We chose Montego Bay because it's close to the airport, and a few of the tourist spots we would like to go to!
  18. That's a great idea ! I would have done STD luggage tags too, except someone else in the family did it already so we are getting STD magnets instead!
  19. Check out Vistaprint. I found some very cute save the date magnets there, and ended up ordering all kinds of return address labels, etc! (and they were cheap. 50 magnets with our picture for $59.99)
  20. I just ordered my save the date magnets! But now I'm wondering what do I include with them ? (info about booking with our TA? do I put a price tag for the vacation on it ? ) I did inlude 'formal inviation to follow' but I want everyone to know who we are booking our travel with
  21. The cocktail hour seems like such a cash grab. I mean, we are going to an all inclusive! I'm undecided if we will do it or not, it would be nice to keep everyone all together between the ceremony and the reception though.
  22. Shanas, I think you have found the right place to answer all of your questions! There are some very talented and creative brides on this website, and if you look in the review sections you can see many recent pics and planning threads on how to have a 'do it yourself' wedding! I can help with a few of your questions, but I'm just at the beginning of planning my wedding at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort! 1) I just signed a contract with the beach resort that says maximum 120 guests 2)Unless you want an open bar, it's only 18 per person over 8 guests 3)check out this thread, and the wedding planning thread and look for a girl named Breeze616, she's posted some amazing things about how to plan and pack and posted quite a few pictures! I found it really helpful in choosing the beach resort 4) the cocktail hour is $7 for domestic and $10 for imported per person, per hour! and then you can have cocktails as well! I'm not sure if we are going to do this, since it's an all inclusive resort and you pay for the drinks anyway! 5)I'm not sure what other extra costs will be...I'm sure I'm missing something!
  23. I don't have any real plans yet...I'm thinking Tiffany blue and I have some creative friends who are planning on helping me with decorations! Today I'm going to order my wedding dress! And then organize some save the dates (since I have a wedding date now!) DeAngelistobe, that's exciting that we both will be there at the same time! what are your colours ?
