  1. wow! Everyone's rings are fantastic! I will have to figure out how to post mine too...
  2. Being a nurse, I too thought STD stood for something else! Now I feel like I know what's going on!
  3. I don't know. I'm sure someone will be helpful and tell us. Is the signature on the bottom where it will say our wedding date, resort etc ? (I'm not technologically inclined, but I could save your life in an emergency!)
  4. Macy's is a great place to look for mom's dresses. It's so much better than The Bay.

I finally booked my wedding date! Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort December 5th 2011!! I'm super excited now!! (except I'm seeing how much all of you other brides have done...I'd better start posting too!)
  7. I finally booked my wedding date!! December 5th Rose Hall Beach Resort!!
  8. The one she showed me looks similar to this....If only I could be so talented!!
  9. I love the Tiffany blue. My friends are already talking about a cake that looks like a tiffany box for my shower!
  10. Wow. Congrats!! You and I both are in love with the Tiffany palm tree necklace!! Your planning has paid off, everything looks perfect!
  11. I agree. One larger gift that is memorable is a good idea. I'm thinking about Tiffany bracelets. They have some that are around $150, then they will all have matching jewelry too!
  12. That is a good idea. My FI did that for his parents 40th anniversary party that we had at the RIU Ocho Rios a couple of years ago. We took pictures of every couple who attended, and then put them in frames and mailed them out when we got home. They abosolutely LOVED it! We (actually HE) made 2 copies of the photos, and put one into a guest book. While we were there, he got each couple to sign one a 3 inch X 7 inch piece of paper (like scrap booking paper in green) with a sentiment on it. When we got home, we glued a 5X7 picture on each page, and the corresponding words from each guest underneath it. His mom loved it! And now they have the memory of each guest at their anniversary party! It would be a great idea for a wedding too!
  13. I've seen them at Party Packagers. They have a whole section of hawaiian themed party supplies, including palm trees, coconut drinking cups, candles etc...I'm thinking of the same thing for a home reception! Dollarama also has big baskets of shells, for $2!
  14. I have the same dilemma. I know my closest family is going, but the pricing I'm getting for the suites is about $2000/week for the first week of December (from Toronto), so I'm leaning towards the iberostar beach resort. I just don't want everyone to be paying $4000/couple to go, we have to draw the line somewhere! I'm just waiting on quotes for this week and then we will book. I anticipated about $1800 per person to go.....(then there's the point...what's another 200 dollars per person to go to the suites when we're already paying 1800 ?! argh. frustrating, but which ever we choose, we will make the BEST of it!)
  15. The OOT bags are VERY cute! How did you pack everything to get it to Jamaica ?
  16. Check out Air Canada Vacations, their website is the only one that I have found where you can see approximately how much it will be for the week...they only have a $200 early booking bonus, and I think they want it paid in full by March
  17. I am looking for the first week in November, I think 2, 3, 7 9 were still available during that time frame as of last week. I'm waiting to hear back from Air Canada Vacations...their quote for the beach resort seemed cheap, so I'm waiting to hear about the suites...then I will secure a date. I'm guessing you just give them a deposit to hold the date, their info says they bill the rest of the wedding cost to your room and you just put it on your credit card when you check out. Hopefully we will have a wedding date before Christmas! I will keep my fingers crossed !!
  18. Hi Starrysim! I am in the same situation as you are, trying to decide between the suites and the beach resort (we have a few kids coming, so we can't go to the grand) I have seen the wedding packages for both the beach and the suites, they look pretty much the same. You can rent out the private restuarant for $800, coctail hours $10 per person etc. The suites has a few different locations for the wedding (beach, terrace, pool gardens) I'm not sure if you have to have 25 people to rent out the restuarant though...I think we will be having about 40. Tripadvisor rates the suites as #2 in Jamaica and nobody ever has anything bad to say about it! Thats a big factor for me, knowing how everyone else has rated the resort. I'm just waiting on travel agents for pricing before I book, it seems like they are taking forever to get back to me with prices! Oh well, this is the fun of it all!
  19. Now I know what wedding dates are still available for November....I just have to wait for the travel agents to get their act together! I'm really leaning towards booking with the suites. It looks fantastic!
  20. Does anyone know how long it takes the wedding coordinator to respond to your emails at the IRHS ? Im waiting on what dates are available for early November 2011.....and waiting on the TA to give me some ideas about vacation packages.....I think this is the worst part of planning !! The rest (the dress....bridesmaids....favours....) is all the fun stuff!!
  21. Congratulations!! I too am looking to get married in November, 2011! I got engaged on Nov/11 this year and my FI thought it would be a great idea to get married 11/11/11 too, but it seems like alot of other people want the same date, and most of the resorts in Jamaica are booked solid for that day! Try emailing some resorts to see what dates they have available....we might end up with 1/11/11. I didn't think I would have to start planning my destination wedding so quickly!! Marlena
  22. My wedding is not until November 2011...still trying to decide on resorts But...that means I have time to try out Davids Bridal! I will keep you posted...
  23. Hi Penny, congrats on getting married in Jamaica! I'm torn between the Gran Bahia and the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for November 2011...I would have picked the ROR but my cousin got married there 3 years ago, and it was fantastic! They had the steel band play as she walked down the beach...I thought that was a great touch. They had the band until 9 pm....we might book them for our own wedding too!
