  1. I agree that it might be easier if you personalize it....either way you're going to get some questions. Since you just came back, could you send thank you cards and write a combination of a thank you and the altered plans at the same time?
  2. Above the portion where you are writing there are options for font, size and an icon with a picture with a house...click on it and add an image from your computer or wherever...
  3. I wanted to do something for my niece so I made her a flower girl card. She said no lol...she's 4 (my SIL said she has to though haha) I used a gold metallic pen to decorate the dress etc. She calls me Co Hang... This is the poem that I put in her card... When I was just a little girl About the size of you I dreamed one day I’d fall in love And then get married too So now that I am all grown up And about to be a bride I want you to be my flower girl To be right by my side Now I'm on to passport invites....
  4. I also gave girls my Will you be my MOH/bridesmaid cards as well. I got the idea from http://www.oncewed.com/16446/wedding-blog/diy-wedding/diy-bridesmaids-cards/ I made one for each girl and customized their hair. Even though nobody would have noticed, I did the back of their bodies as well...they just looked naked without them! This is the poem that I printed and glued onto black poster board. I made the envelopes with a die-cut we had at work. No matter where life takes me No matter where I roam When I’m with you, my friend My heart feels right at home And now my life is changing and I’ll need you now more than ever Please say you’ll be my Bridesmaid now and my friend forever.
  5. I have never been a DIY person, but seeing all the awesome stuff on here inspired me. I'm Vietnamese and because we are planning on a destination wedding, my parents wanted to throw an engagement party....a small intimate engagement dinner of 140 lol... So we decided to do boarding passes. I spent a month reworking them until I felt they were perfect. Even though we didn't have the exact date, we wanted to get them out there and give people lots of time to save up. We had one of these in front of every place setting (saved on postage, but had to make double because each person got one instead of sending one per couple/family). FH really wanted them to have an authentic look and wanted all the little details like rounded corners, no script font, perforated edge etc. I used the free template from ayleebits. http://www.ayleebits.com/templates.htm My SIL was so helpful. After I designed and printed them, she folded, cut and she even had a perforated blade to give the passes an authentic look. All I had to do was cut the little indents and assemble them. When making the envelope, she used double sided tape from the dollar store. Worked amazing! It's hard to see, but in front of every place setting is the envelope with favors on top of them.
  6. A question for Canadian brides - I noticed that Transat has wedding packages for Barcelo again. Anybody have any experience with them? How much extra do they charge you to have an outside wedding? Is it the same food? The packages seems reasonable $1500 is the most expensive...
  7. http://s1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa342/780chick/ hmm....until I can figure out how to post the pics, here's the direct link to the album

  9. I hope I can help.... Save the PDF file onto your computer. Then open it in Adobe, under edit, copy file to clipboard. Then open up Word or Powerpoint and paste. Then add text boxes and you should be able insert text to do your invites that way.
  10. How much was the shipping to Canada? Did you get dinged at customs?
  11. I'm a teacher in Edmonton and our calendar was out in the summertime. Good luck!
  12. I love the wedding video. How much did you pay for your videographer?
  13. Love all the stuff. I'm from Edmonton and am looking at the Barcelo for my wedding in 2012. I look forward to hearing your review. Have a great time and if you decide to sell anything afterwards, PM me with the thread!
