Have a talk with them! At my wedding the Best Man got really drunk the night before and was basically useless to my husband the day of. At the reception my maid of honor got so drunk she ended up puking all over herself. I would have thought they both would have had enough sense to keep themselves in check but that didn't happen.

Our lounge furniture cost about $500 and that was for seating for 16 plus delivery and set up fees. Sadly the only pictures of the furniture I have are in a video so I can't post them but they were white couch type things that had pillows in orange and pink to match my colors. We also had coffee tables done in white with clear glass like tops and small round tables in orange and pink. Here's a pic with one of the tall orange tables.

Don't give up on your hopes for a DW! Have you considered doing a legal ceremony at home with the brother present and doing a symbolic wedding in the DR? My husband's only sibling did not go to our DW because of the same reasons except his kids are 7 and 4! One is diabetic so they were afraid that something would happen and the doctors in Mexico wouldn't know how to treat her. I agree with the other comments DO WHAT YOU WANT, not what is going to make everyone else happy.

Personally out of all my trips to the Riviera I would not return to the Grand Xcaret, the beach is man made and out of all the resorts I have stayed it the food here was the worst. Also I found there to be a strong sewer smell throughout the resort, even in our rooms some days. On the plus side the Grand Xcaret is next to the Xcaret park and Xplor so it was very easy for us to get too. The Gran Bahia complex is huge, with 4 resorts on the property (Coba, Tulum, Akumal & the new Sian Kaan) its probably about 30 to 40 minutes from Playa del Carmen, but its an easy drive on the highway or you can take a collectivo (form of public transit). I liked the Gran Bahia due to its size since there was always something to do, numerous pools, restaurants and lots of entertainment. The food at the Gran Bahia was great and for us very affordable, we booked a last minute deal from Halifax and only paid $900 taxes in for a week. The Gran Bahia complex is also very close to the Tulum ruins.
