I think it depends.. my skin isn't that bad, but i've found that when I'm on it I have no issues with my skin.. I got to the point a couple of months where I started to see no difference so I stopped using it.. and as soon as I stopped using it my skin got irritated.. so I tried other things (Murad - sell at sephora) but it wasn't like Proactiv.. I figure since it works, why change it so I went back on Proactiv and I think its worth it. My gets facials now and then and the lady who does them recommends Proactiv.. she says people don't use it long enough to see the results and stop to early.. ok now I feel like a Proactiv consultant haha.. but I don't buy directly from Proactiv, I felt like I paid more since they take out money monthly.. I just buy them from the Proactiv kiosks in the mall.

I'm not crazy about short wedding dresses but there is something different about that one, its gorgeous you should go for it!!

I was going to use an ipod and just use their sound system, but you have to pay to use their sound system and Mayte said thats $400.. so we're just going to pay the $600 to use the DJ.

I have so many more to go.. I figure I have time lol

Hey Ladies, just wanted to let everyone know that Jetblue & Airtran posted more flights today.. my TA called me today to let me know, I haven't spoken with her yet but when I just looked Jetblue seems a little less expensive.

Your wedding looked amazing! I've been trying to look for information about flowers in the dominican around the time I'm getting married (November) but I haven't had much luck. Did Mayte tell you options about flowers and what were estimates on prices? Just wondering what would be the best solution.

I went to the first store.. tried on about 5 dresses total and kept on going back on forth between them and then decided on my dress when the sales woman got a dress that I never would have tried on and it was the one.. then I went to a local shop right after that I've been to multiple times (she includes free alterations & holds the dress until your day) and ordered it from her

Its gorgeous! my dress came in yesterday and I can't try it on until next month since I ordered it in my hometown & we're not visiting til then.. I'm dying lol.

Astef, 1- You give Mayte what you are planning on having (doesn't have to be the total number of people, just an estimate you can always add/change things later) such as what menu you're choosing for the amount of people, hours of open bar, DJ, transportation, etc.. then she'll send you a preinvoice and you have to send 10% of the total to them. They're really laid back/Mayte is really busy so its not something that has to be done right away 2- I'd book your date as soon as you know.. Mayte holds your day for you as soon as you tell her, you don't need your deposit to hold your date. 3- Can't help you with that.. having our Ceremony & Reception at the Jellyfish I know people ask to get things emailed, etc.. I wouldn't worry about it.

I just got a reply from Mayte tonight, I had not heard from her in about 3 weeks.. I sent her a couple of emails because I never heard from her after I sent my deposit for the preinvoice.. she responded and everything is good.. now I won't be emailing her until closer to the wedding so I'm finally at ease! lol.. She actually said "Wedding seasson, crazy!!" so shes extremely busy.

After years from now, are you going to be happy looking at your wedding pictures and knowing that you didn't have your wedding where you both wanted it? My fiance and I both decided on our destination wedding.. and maybe people haven't come out and said it, but we've only had one person question our destination wedding.. and it was a person he wasn't even planning to invite (his mother, they've never had a close relationship). I just found it ironic that the only person to complain, was the one person we weren't planning on inviting, but invited her because it is in fact his mother. I think the people you want there and who want to be there.. will mean everything. I know at times I've second guessed our decision.. but then I think about how all my friends weddings are so similar and I want ours to stand out and reflect our personalities. Hope your wedding planning looks up.. you shouldn't feel like you're making a bad decision.. the way I see it, what if you change your wedding for another person.. and then they don't come for whatever reason.. at the end of the day, you have to do what makes you both happy.

Hey Ladies, How are you planning on wording your invitations? I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate staying at the Majestic Elegance and our Ceremony & Reception at the Jellyfish without adding so many words. Also.. are you guys asking what they're planning on eating in the response cards or are you letting them order at the reception? Any past brides any info would be great

I transferred money this past week too and I have not heard from her.. I emailed her and I also left her a message on facebook.. I'm going to wait a little bit more and then If I don't hear from her I'm going to get a calling card and call.

Mayte recently had a baby so I know she hasn't been working her regular hours.. she is still checking her email and working, I haven't heard from her in a couple of days and I'm waiting for a reply to an email.. shes good at checking her email and responding but its probably because shes busy with her baby now and I know they always have weddings going on.. I wouldn't worry about it, I've been in communication with her since November and I just paid my deposit this week, she holds your date and they don't rush it..

Same boat here.. our TA is telling us flights will be about $600-$800 and the frustrating part is that not all flights are out for November 2011 yet, some airlines are but Jetblue and Airtran aren't out yet.

I was unsure of this.. but I decided that we'll hire a videographer. My best friend hired a videographer and she loves her video.. her sister even did the whole thing of having someone video tape the wedding.. and then afterward she had to hire someone to put it together to make it more of a wedding video.

Hi Ladies! I'm originally from New Bedford, MA but currently living in Alabama (FI is active military).. all my wedding planning is being done in MA since all our friends/family are still there. I was just there this weekend and we ordered our bridesmaid dresses! Anyway, we're getting married 11/12/11 in Punta Cana.. staying at the Majestic Elegance and getting married at the Jellyfish Restaurant.

Heyy.. I'm not taking any malaria or cholera pills.. I've traveled a lot.. especially on cruises (5+) with stops all over ever since I was little and have never had any issues.
