You can bring certain edible items, like for favors, but you should check with your coordinator to find out the details. You can do decor, aisle runner and centerpieces, but they'll tell you that someone from your party is responsible for setting them up. They usually end up helping with little things from what I've read, but it all depends on the coordinator you get. The other thing they say is no confetti, bubbles, etc. Keep in mind if you're doing an embarkation day wedding, you won't be able to use the ship's salon. You'll need to be ready before you board. If you're doing a shipboard or island wedding, during the cruise you can use the salon. Good luck, and congrats!!

AHR Our AHR will be a few weeks after we get back from our trip. We’re doing a cocktail party on a Friday night at a local banquet hall – open bar, appetizers, some stations, dancing… casual and open seating. I got a fingerprint tree as our guestbook from Etsy seller YourKeepsakeCo I made our centerpieces (hobby lobby, efavormart.com) and convinced the venue to let us bring our own table runners (BBcrafts.com), since they didn’t have a color I liked. The finished ones will have sand in the bottoms of them. We’re doing a candy buffet at the AHR, and it’s been fun putting it together. I got a lot of the jars for our candy buffet at a flea market during a trip to Asheville, NC last Thanksgiving, averaging $2/jar. I also bought a few from Michaels, Goodwill and Salvation Army, and a couple were gifts from friends/family. I made the labels in PowerPoint. Some of the labels will hang on the jars and others will be tent cards. I made a little sign for the basket for the cellophane treat bags (from Michaels). I got most of the candy from www.acandystore.com and www.candyfavorites.com. Gummy sharks, lollipops, rock candy sticks and strings, sour hard candy, gumballs, kisses, yogurt covered pretzels, laffy taffy, airheads, mints, gummy bears, Oreos, marshmallows… I got my thank you cards from Vistaprint, and I have used them for everything from my shower through AHR. So that’s everything! It’s been a long 16 months of planning and waiting. We leave in 11 days, and it cannot come soon enough! Let me know if you have any questions! Other Wedding Events My aunts threw me a bridal shower in January. My cousin designed the invitations. The most amazing thing about my shower was that my two best friends surprised me by flying in from DC and showing up the morning of my shower. They just walked into my room like it was no big deal while I was getting ready, and I just about lost my mind. They had been planning it for four months, and my FI and pretty much every single person in my life knew about it and didn’t let on. They also planned a bachelorette evening for me to Blue Man Group and a party at the house afterward. It was the greatest present they could have ever given me. My stepdad’s sister made the centerpieces for the shower – towel animals like they leave in your stateroom on cruise ships every night. My mom got the cake made using the same ribbon and monogram from our invitations, with little fondant towel swans as the cake topper! It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! I made sugar scrubs as a thank you for the shower guests. From what I’ve heard, some people need refills! I used a bunch of different scents from the soap making section at Michaels, including coconut, mango, pink grapefruit, lavender, melon… The star of my shower – my cousin’s baby girl, Ella, with my mom. During the cruise, we’ve planned a few things that folks are welcome to join us for if they want. Sail away cocktail party on the first evening of the cruise – we’ll pick up the tab for drinks for our guests before dinner. We rented a cabana on Half Moon Cay for everyone to use while we’re on the island on the second day of our trip. Last Fling before the Ring: we’re asking the guys to meet Al in the casino, and the girls to meet me in the dance club for a little partying on the night before the wedding, just something very informal. Back to Reality Cocktail Party (last night of the cruise) – just a little chance for everyone to get together and prepare to get back to reality J Almost done...
