  1. Is it wrong I want more pics of the car?? Mine is my baby too, and aren't our FIs are so lucky they found girls to put up with their obsessions!? :-)
  2. is that your Mustang?!? I have a 2007, and FI has a 96 racecar. love the last pic, so cute!
  3. I think Catholicism is the only one that requires pre-Cana and being inside the Church. You should be able to go with any other religion to skip pre-Cana and to be outside the Sanctuary. Maybe Lutheran, Protestant, Episcopalian, non-denominational? I think they are all less strict with location requirements, but could be very wrong. Orthodox won't work since they have even more rules than we Catholics, I believe. Good luck with your search!
  4. thank you so much for the link! I really really want to do one of these but was having so much trouble figuring it out using the crappy tutorials that I found. That link is so much better!! You have given me hope :-)
  5. Some people are odd aren't they? Have you ever been to a wedding!?! since when is it even close to ok for someone other than the bride to wear white?? if she's really going to FREAK out and ruin your day, just let her do it. she'll look like the rediculous one in white. It won't take the focus off of you. Everyone will still know who the bride is! (And just tell yourself you'll look prettier anyway LOL)
  6. beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!! and you have the most gorgeous eyes ever, BTW!
  7. lost 3.8 this week!! so stoked! just enough to keep me going after a rough start to my week at work. FI was out tonight so I had a great opportunity to do the 30 day shred video.... and yet I sat on the couch and watched My Strange Addiction all night. No snacking though. I'll call it a win.
  8. oh wow. you have done a great job!! can i ask - how did you connect stems to the brooches? where did you learn to do that?
  9. beautiful! you'll have to post in the "pics of you vs. the model" thread! :-)
  10. very true. I just am so blown away by how NASTY some people can be. I have been planning every friggin aspect of my wedding based on how to make it the best vacation possible for my guests. Never once have I said "it's MY day." Wedding Etiquette is subjective, but general manners, kindness and compassion are not. Thanks again for having all of us here, Tammy!! I think most of us would say that we would have no idea what we were doing without BDW.
  11. Why is every wedding planning forum out there nasty and negative?!? Shouldn't this be a positive experience?!? I'm so done with every forum except for this one. People are rude, and dictate etiquette that I've never heard of, call me selfish for asking my guests to pay their own effing travel expenses. Where the hell does it say that we should pay for an inside cabin for every guest (cruise wedding) and two nights and travel (destination wedding)?? And it wasn't even a bride that did this, it was some MOB/FOB (not sure) poking their nose into a conversation that had nothing to do with travel expenses!! calling every bride on the forum selfish and "needing an eye-opener" for asking guests to travel at their own expense!!! Ugh, I am so disgusted with every wedding planning forum out there except for BDW. Thank goodness I found this place - there is actually positivity, intelligence and support!! Thank you to the administration for keeping this place running. you ladies rock :-)
  12. No way about looking like we had a no-show! Those are our best friends, and if that's just how many there are, that's ok!! Bunch together for pics, instead of standing in a line and it'll look great!! I'm so glad you were able to make the group rate, that's awesome! For you and for the extra friends who got to partake in the discounted rate! P.S. assmonkey is such a great term. One of my coworkers is a MAJOR assmonkey today and it has nothing to do with a wedding.
  13. Awesome, go you!!! Good luck tonight! I haven't been pushing myself as hard as I should and I only lost 4 lbs in the first month - I need to move more. I came down with the flu and I'm down 10 from last week, so i'm hoping that by sticking to points, I won't pile all of it back on! Weigh in on Wednesday!
  14. Al is 9.5 years older than me. He likes to lie about his age constantly though - such a giiiirl! LOL
  15. can you please post pics and sizes of the flower girl dresses (the blingy one and the one with the blue sash) and pics of the garter?
  16. I agree, if you make the committment, especially if you had all the pricing info up front, you should keep your word and act in an appropriate amount of time (so as not to screw everyone else. Awesome.). But some people, man... We're might have an uneven bridal party, but we're not even sure how uneven yet LOL could be two BMs and 1 GM or three & three or anywhere inbetween. I've seen a bunch of pics of uneven bridal parties, and they look just as nice as even ones, I promise! Try to not let it get you down too badly, hun!! I'm still hoping that, as your friend, she finds a way to make this happen for you and the rest of the group! I'm an eternal optimist.
  17. Just saw your other post, I didn't realize she would impact everyone else getting the group booking rate. Is there someone else who would be willing to book early to make the quota?
  18. First of all, welcome to the site! Honestly, I don't think there's a reason to act swiftly. It would be her loss if she weren't able to be there, and it wouldn't prevent you from getting married if she were or weren't there. I know you're irritated with her (I'm also having a problem getting one of my BMs to book) but things like this can change from day to day. Maybe she'll take care of business once tax refunds come through! Good luck!! When is your wedding date?
  19. Another home run by Brandy and Rebecca! Brandy, you are going to have such a cohesive, beautiful wedding!
  20. can you post up a picture? I'd love to see your hard work!
  21. I know some people around here have paid for some or all of the travel expenses or some of the reservation or deposit, and more power to them! Not in our budget, unfortunately. We'll be paying for bridal party attire, gifts, specialty restaurant dinner one night and a cabana rental at one of the ports during the cruise. That's about all our budget can handle!
  22. yeah, girl, I'm way too much of a planner to deal with TWE. not knowing ceremony/reception location until two weeks out? no thank you! I love Grand Caymen! Do you have a date yet? Can't wait to see everything as your planning goes forward!
  23. hi there! Congratulations on your engagement! FI and I are getting married in St. Thomas in April 2012, while in port during our Carnival cruise, using Island Bliss Weddings as our on-island wedding coordinator. When doing a cruise wedding you have a few main options: 1. embarkation day wedding - can include non-sailing guests, have to use the cruise line's wedding department. 2. mid-cruise wedding - shoreside or on ship, using the cruise line's wedding department 3. shoreside wedding at one of the ports, using an on-island wedding coordinator - this is what we're doing, so I'm biased. But its cheaper and you can have more planning control. As much control is possible for a destination wedding of any kind! good luck with your decisions and happy planning!!
