  1. If they miss the early booking deadline, they miss out on cheaper rates. Their bad. Don't stress about that! I think you should make it a little more casual or conversational. Its very formal (and very well written) which might come off a bit harsh. Off the top of my head, I think taking out these lines would change the tone of the whole piece: "If we do not receive your RSVP by March 28th we will assume that you do not plan on coming." "Your response would be greatly appreciated" Maybe change "Thank you for your consideration!" to "We hope you can join us for our celebration in Paradise!" or something like that. Good luck!!
  2. That must be frustrating! Long distance adds even more of a challenge to planning! Stay strong, and feel free to vent away, you're almost there!
  3. Flowers, you can post away in here - you'll be there in no time! Are you so excited? Less than 2 months to go for you!
  4. I feel the same way, BeachBride!! Its irritating to see the same response the whole way down the column in 50 threads!! Check the date of the first post, most of them aren't around and have been married for years already LOL Ditto on the guess that she was desparate to open an attachment! I had no patience, so I paid the supporter fee - best money spent on the wedding so far!
  5. that's pretty cool. they have some really cute designs! this one is so funky http://cgi.ebay.com/Delux-Beach-Sandal-Wedding-Invitation-Kit-CD-/380062880793?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item587d835419
  6. Same here, we'll be on the Liberty, March 31-April 7, 2012. It'll be spring break so I'm sure it'll be insane!
  7. I've always heard: formal names and address on the outside envelope (Mr. & Mrs. John Doe) and informal names on the inner envelope (John & Mary), all handwritten, all in script, with "And guest" only included on the inner envelope. But really, do what feels right and looks best with the style of invitation. Our invites are less formal, so we're throwing traditional addressing etiquette to the wind. We're doing envelope wraps, printed by computer and no inner envelope (just a boarding pass ticket jacket). Shame on us LOL
  8. this was a great one also! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/70036/steph-s-diy-passport-invites-pictures-instructions-and-advice#post_1555663
  9. I think you should maybe highlight your names at the top a little more... maybe make the names a larger font? Love the starfish icon! And I like the swirly decoration things better than the flowers on page 2... just my opinion, but they look great!!
  10. We spent the weekend with FI's brother, uncle and cousin. At one point, the topic of our wedding came up. The idiot uncle made some rediculous comment about how there's no way he's going because of how dangerous it is to travel to the Caribbean because of all the stuff going on in Mexico. Um... I'm sorry.... what?!?!? It's a cruise to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and Grand Turk. St. Thomas is dangerous because there are a few drug problems in Mexico? 1. We're not even going to Mexico. 2. We'll be on a boat most of the time, and only in these places for 8 hours each. 3. Mexico's not even that dangerous if you really look at the statistics compared to major US cities, you uneducated redneck. Moronic comments laden with f-bombs flew out of his mouth all weekend, so I guess it was par for the course. He's never left the county though, so maybe he's just scared. Hope all you wonderful ladies end up having your beautiful dream weddings!! I know I will, regardless of idiot comments.
  11. Awesome job! They are absolutely beautiful, and the presentation is so nice. Sounds like you had a ton of challenges to overcome while doing these, but I love your write-up. Thanks for sharing it with us! I've been overthinking every aspect of ours also (boarding passes, not passports). Time to just get them done and get it off my plate!
  12. This was an amazing thread about how to make funky pocketfold invites!! I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more pocketfold invites around here because of this post! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/67837/my-diy-linen-invites
  13. Hi Ashley, I've heard nothing but good things about the ship photographers! On my last few cruises, all of our pics turned out beautifully (not weddings, just portraits). You'll probably have to stay on top of Carnival constantly with phone calls and emails to get answers. TWE isn't the most responsive company - damn cruise wedding monopoly! LOL Good luck with all your planning!
  14. Hi Ashley! Welcome! I'm a cruise bride also - what cruise line are you using?
  15. Missy, you look gorgeous! I haven't started dress shopping, but I love drop-waist dresses with the blingy embellishment like that!
  16. that is beautiful! i love when they do those little green pieces swooped over like that!
  17. Nice re-purposing you did there! I need about 110, and I found a vendor that sells in packs of 150 on etsy. We'll see how the quality is!
  18. i am wondering the same thing. I think I might start visiting Goodwills and other thrift stores to pick up cheap vintage earrings and pins, but I always prefer an online site if anyone knows of one!
  19. so nice, wow!! (wiping drool now) thank you for humoring me! :-)
