  1. How did you print on 110# paper? What kind of home printer do you have? I've been having a world of trouble trying to print my invites on heavy cardstock (80-110#)!! Thanks in advance for your advice :-)
  2. I'm trying to print my boarding pass invitations, and I'm having major paper feed problems. What printers do you guys use to print on heavy cardstock? I'm using cover-weight, matte cardstock paper (8.5x11"). I've tried my HP 4280 all-in-one, a friends HP N110 (?), and an Epson Stylus NX430. The HPs were front feeding, but the Epson is rear-feeding, and none of them can handle the cardstock. The weird thing is my HP handled a few pages of cardstock and then changed its mind and now it refuses to print on cardstock. Explain that to me?!!? Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get these damn invitations printed? The colors were coming out all weird when I tried to print them at Kinkos. Maybe I'll try taking them to Office Max and see if their print center is any better than Kinkos. What printers do you guys use to print on heavy cardstock? I'm so frustrated at this point!!!
  3. how much for the napkins and all the shells? I'll gladly pay shipping :-) Thanks!
  4. Hey JulieRose, I'm on CC with you also. Sorry you're feeling like this. I know it's hard. My bridesmaids are 800 miles away and won't be involved with anything either. But maybe that might make it a bit easier? Less opinions to hear? :-) Check out this thread for the April 2012 brides: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/76331/april-2012-bride Maybe it'll give you some girls to chat with about ideas...
  5. That's quite an undertaking but it looks awesome so far! Can't wait to see all of them all together!!
  6. Great thread so far. Can't wait to see what's to come! My bridesmaids dresses are also malibu - good choice! :-)
  7. of course... I'm a bit slow today! :-) Definitely, just trying to think through it before I start working on them. I designed some that were similar to skp1's programs (4 panels per 8.5x11" sheet, tied with raffia) but more in luggage tag shape. I'm still just thinking through what I want to do. Plenty of time left! :-) Thanks to you ladies for your help though! Good suggestions to ponder...
  8. Thanks for the font info, Janet! I love it! How many panels did you put on each 8.5x11 sheet? I'll probably just design in word, since it's what I'm most comfortable with.
  9. love these! I saw them from the other bride also. They are a great style! Would you be willing to post your template or names of the fonts that you used? :-)
  10. I ordered my dress at the beginning of September, hoping it doesn't take too long to arrive. Post pics when it gets to you! :-) I need to get cracking on invites too. They're already designed, but we finally signed a contract for our AHR venue, so we can print and cut the invites with AHR info on them! I need to get this done soon, time is flying by! Hope everyone is doing well with planning. I feel like everything is about to get crazy busy for me... six months left!
  11. I didn't get the package that had the disc because I figured I wouldn't ever use the pics again and I don't have any photo retouching software. If only I had skills! I thought her best pics i saw in her studio weren't even on her site. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get someone to capture his expression. Were doing a cruise wedding and we won't meet the photog until were off the ship. Maybe I can gr his brother or my friend to snap a pic for me. I hope so!
  12. Hey Mich! I just had the shoot yesterday! I went with Serenity Boudoir Photography: http://serenitygallery.net It's a husband-and-wife-owned company in the north burbs of Chicago. They have a great little studio in Greyslake, IL. I was so nervous before the shoot, but the photog (Harper) was the sweetest person ever. She immediately made me comfortable, and the girl who did my hair and make-up was also very sweet, and she did a great job. Harper put out strawberries, chocolate and mimosas for me while I was getting my hair and make-up done. There was even a little sign in the studio window that said "Welcome Erica" when I walked up :-) She started out with very close-up shots and eventually went to more full-length shots. She was very encouraging the whole time, and gave a lot of good direction. I was supposed to only do three clothes changes, but she used all the clothes I brought (about five changes since I couldn't decide beforehand). She also was very aware and respectful of the areas I didn't want to show (my belly), so I'm sure the pics will be very flattering. She never once made me feel curvy or tubby. She made me feel great about myself! At the very end, she had me do a couple pin-up type shots (jeans, white tank, heels, polka-dot purse). I'm interested to see how everything turns out! Two weeks is going to take forever!! LOL Curvy girls in Chicago - go see Harper! She's awesome and she will make you feel even more gorgeous than you already are!
  13. Thanks, Mich! I really like the photog, she's very sweet, so I think it will be all good. Finished up the shopping last night - navy undies to go with the Bears jersey! :-) The shop was awesome. It felt like the most glamorous boutique every, very chilly in the store (good for trying on dresses!), huge dressing rooms, it was awesome. Any plus size girls out there in MD, go here!! http://www.curvaceouscoutureonline.com/ I tried on about 6 dresses I think. A lot of their dresses were outside my price range because they carry the fancy designer names, but I did find an Enzoani dress in my price range that I loved. Success!
  14. We finally got rid of our previous TA and switched everything to Patty. It was a challenge to get everything transferred to her, but it was completely worth it. She's awesome!!
  15. I have my BD shoot next week and I am NERVOUS!!! Picking up some last minute items this week... Glad to hear you had a good experience, I hope I do too!! I did have a much better time dress shopping than I expected a few weeks ago, especially at Curvaceous Couture, a plus-size bridal shop in Columbia, MD. They were awesome, and they only carry plus sizes! Even the skinny little consultants were the sweetest girls, they never made me feel anything less than gorgeous!
  16. It's so beautiful, and you looked gorgeous!! Wow, stunning! You just put my mind at ease. I've been wondering how this will look with a white dress and white roses... thank you for posting!! So I guess I'll have to start working on my arm muscles now!
  17. Start a thread about your finished projects, post pics of your dress, talk in the shoutbox, ask for advice about upcoming DIY projects, or pay the $30 to become a sponsor - BDW is worth it! Heads-up, asking for templates through email is against the rules. Good luck!
  18. your pics look great! We have a similar BM dress color, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest. Can you please link to your review in this thread when it's posted?
  19. My mom and I drove to Maryland from Chicago today and were going dress shopping with my two bridesmaids tomorrow! So excited, but nervous! We have 5 places to try in the next 2 days for all 4 of us, so hopefully we will find something for everyone :-)
  20. I'm not sure if Brendee wrote a tutorial, but I did one for mine if it helps: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/73419/diy-brooch-bouquet Good luck!
  21. Haha I know!! These girls are bad influences LOL I wish I could get some of them done, but they depend on a guest count, which I just don't have yet. :-(
  22. Thank goodness because it gets really annoying, so thank you!! When's your wedding? I'm sure you'll be at 150 in no time, you're more than halfway there!
