  1. i LOVE ferrets! my cousin has a couple of them, and she always makes hilarious Christmas cards with them in different situations, wearing funny hats and stuff LOL they're so cute in that pic where they're sleeping!! :-)
  2. We're going with Paradise Pictures also. I love their style - bright, sharp focused, relaxed posing, amazing use of tropical colors, all of it. Blue Glass does amazing work, I follow them on facebook also. Their pictures are so romantic :-) Good luck with your choice. I think you should pick the one that fits your personality, like Diem said. No matter who you choose, the pics will be gorgeous!!
  3. Four months and four days for me!! My most recent project was making my garter and boutonnieres for the guys. FI doesn't know about the garter, I whipped it up one night while he was out with his brother I used this tutorial if anyone else wants to make their own: http://offbeatbride.ning.com/forum/topics/diy-garter Inspired by Etsy seller sugarplumgarters http://www.etsy.com/listing/59447963/chicago-white-sox-inspired-wedding Boutonniere for FI - you can't really tell but the white pick is pearl. Inspired by Etsy seller frittsrosenow http://www.etsy.com/listing/69268067/electric-guitar-wpicks-boutonniere?ref=sr_gallery_22&ga_search_query=guitar+boutonniere&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade Guitar pick boutonnieres for the other guys - the bow is a little wonky becuase it wasn't glued down yet, I was still deciding on the style. 5. I haven't really heard anything about it, but the pics look really cool!
  6. if you're up for the challenge, i say go for it! they look great... Maybe a pic of the guest(s) in one corner, and in the other corner a pic of you two as a couple?
  7. I'm sorry your feelings are hurt. That sucks that you're feeling that way :-( My mom and I are very close also, so she's been pretty involved with planning, and we've had to dance around the lines of what she and I should/shouldn't be doing to help each other. I totally second what Jaime said. Sounds like you had the best of intentions and that's she's pretty stressed out. Don't be "done" with her or planning; don't let some little snafu with wedding planning mess up what sounds like an amazing relationship and what is sure to be a wonderful wedding experience. I know that I've needed my mom to be a little more patient with me than usual, simply because my mind is going 4,000,000 miles per minute and I had trouble using my words. Just give her some space and let her tell you when she needs help! Keep asking her if you can help with a specific task, like the flower situation. Good luck! :-)
  8. We want the same sort of thing after getting married at Limetree Beach, and we decided to go with Iggie's Beach Bar, after some info from Janelle at Island Bliss Weddings and some research. Here's what Janelle said, when I asked for a beachy/relaxed venue: For lunch spots, you can't beat Iggies for a fun beach location. This is located at Bolongo Bay Resort and very close to Lime Tree Beach. Also a nice option is Fat Turtle in Yacht Haven Grande – while it is not a beach location, it is a fun island atmosphere and within walking distance back to the ship.
  9. Welcome back!! Congratulations, you looked beautiful. Love the dress, and your hair looked awesome! Is that your husband holding your little girl in that one pic? Too freakin' cute! Those pics of you two tearing up made me tear up a little, and I am NOT a sentimental person LOL Congrats again, can't wait to hear the story and see more pics!
  10. I never got the one I requested for myself, i ended up having a friend invite me, that's the only way it worked for me. PM me your email address, and I'll send you the invite.
  11. here's mine: Fabi by Enzoani on the model... and on me (this is the sample, so it's clipped in the back and a bit loose)...
  12. I think a lot of the girls used manicure scissors to make the little cuts. I chose to make my passes without that detail to save myself some work, mine are straight across the top and bottom, with rounded corners made with a corner punch.
  13. i think its a very beautiful dress. I think it looks great on you. I have dress doubt all the time too!! Follow your gut and if you love it, stick with it!! If not, swap it. Just follow your heart.
  14. Awesome! Definitely set a "per brooch limit" for yourself so that the average ends up within budget. Let me know if I can help at all, and post up your pics when you're done!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
  15. Five months are going to fly by!! What's everyone up to with planning right now? We just mailed our invites today. We also picked up our rings the other day. I tried mine on and didn't want to take it off!! Rings are now sitting happily in the safety deposit box until late March...
  16. cannot wait for pictures!! have a safe trip and a wonderful wedding day!!
  17. it's someone who paid the $30 to the site. Back when I joined, I thought I'd never get 150 posts to be able to open attachments, so I became a supporter and was able to open attachments right away... best $30 spent on the wedding so far!
  18. Um, yeah, you're like 5 minutes from me! I'm off of 63rd Street. Next summer, I'll have to convince you to come to some of the Friday night car shows in downtown Downers. We're out there every Friday evening from memorial day to labor day with our mustangs, in the lot by the train station. I can't wait to just get on the boat. I need a vacation! :-) Right now we have 13 booked between cruising with us and meeting us on the island. I'm sure the next five month will fly by, but I'm anxious already!
  19. Ann - you're in Downers?! Me too!! I'm right by South High School! I'm Erica, I'm getting married April 3, 2012 in St. Thomas, while we're on a cruise. Everything for the wedding is basically planned and done. At this point, we're waiting on final guest count so we can do OOT bags and other things that require a number. Most recent wedding update: picked up our rings yesterday and will be mailing invites this week! We're also in the process of planning our AHR which will be April 20, 2012 at a local event hall. I'm finding the AHR to be much more work and stress than the actual wedding!!
  20. Thanks! It is indeed just satin 1.5" ribbon. I thought it added a little something while still keeping a simple look.
  21. I think this is the powerpoint I used for the return address label (can't open these at home, only at work). I'm sorry, I can't remember exactly where to click to make the lettering curved... return address label image.pptx
