  1. Thanks, girlie!! I got the pashminas from Sears; they were the most affordable place that didn't have a minimum order since I only needed 12. Everywhere else required a $200 order or a minimum of 24. They must have been on sale when I bought them, because they were $4.99ea and now they're listed at $20ea?!? Odd. I got the holders and lanyards from http://stores.ebay.com/gcishoponline. I know I've seen these at Hobby Lobby, but way more expensive. I'm actually 3 lanyards short, so I'm glad I saw them at Hobby Lobby a few months ago! P.S. I have 11 zipper pouches leftover, which I can send you if you pay shipping. PM me if you're interested.
  2. that is beautiful. I love the lace top with the beachy skirt! I could NOT pull off a mermaid dress, let me tell you LOL I'm glad your mind is at ease, because it's stunning. Man, I hate dress doubt, don't you?!!
  3. I did all the labels myself. Except this morning I realized, I need ONE friggin extra of all the cruising stuff, becuase FI's mom is bringing a friend and I don't want them to have to share a bag. I'm a dummy LOL oh well, easy fix. We only have 15 people on the cruise with us, so you've given me hope that we won't have too much stuff. I'm hoping everything fits in my little roller bag, so I can use my big bag for all my clothes and stuff. Fortunately we're driving to FL, so we don't have to worry about baggage fees and weights and stuff. Post up some pics if you have a successful shopping day! :-)
  4. All of you ladies look so freakin' gorgeous!! i love how different everyone's dresses are, but each one is just such a perfect fit for the girl who picked it! Amazing! You're so sweet to ask... Second fitting is not until March 14! It's going to look like a completely different dress, I want it done now LOL Tell me your progress, and remind me of your dress choice?
  5. I just did a massive amount of printing for my OOT bags! Seriously, when FI is out I get so much stuff done!! I printed monograms for the front of the welcome packets, Carnival photo releases for the cruising guests, chapstick labels, pashmina tags and keycard holder inserts. As soon as a few packages arrive this week, I'll be putting together my oot bags! I can't wait to have these done and off my chest. Here is a quick pic of the keycard holder inserts, one version for the guests cruising with us and one version for the guests meeting us on St. Thomas: Here are the pashminas rolled and tagged (sorry the pics is so crappy, i'm keeping them in a plastic bag to keep them away from the kitties): Yay for progress!
  6. Favors sound cute! Similar to one of the things we're putting in our OOT bags, except we're doing guitar picks instead of matchbooks. I also need to start working on an iPod playlist for our AHR. Why does that task bug me so much?!? i keep putting it off... Yay for the BD shoot! I had mine a few months ago, and that little book is burning a hole in my nightstand! I need to make a cute tag and wrap it up. I already asked one of my BMs to deliver it to him on the wedding morning and she's excited to help out. She said she's going to sneak a peek before she hands it over LOL Don't be nervous, tap that inner diva, and don't forget to put on earrings and accessories for each outfit change like I did!
  7. So excited! I'm rocking out projects left and right, right now! Had my first dress fitting a week ago, can't wait to go back in a few weeks! I need to get my local guests pretrip packets delivered, which basically means driving all over Chicago to hand them out, and I need to start putting together an OOT bag mock-up so I can see what I'm missing, but I think I just ordered the last little bit of what I need for my bags this weekend! Leaving for Miami 5 weeks from tomorrow, holy crap!!
  8. I made the circle stickers in PowerPoint, turning them into a jpeg once I was happy with them. I made them 1.5" and printed them on full page mailing label stickers. I used a circle punch from Michaels to cut them out. My template for the circle stickers is in post 3, in the packet templates files.
  9. Beautiful dress Allie!!! I adore that skirt! You look great and so happy :-)
  10. Are you going to be using super heavy cardstock? What weight is your paper? For the heavier stuff, you'll need a top or rear loading printer. Often laser printers work better for heavier stuff, but I've had really good luck with an HP Deskjet 3050A. Good luck!
  11. Here are the shoes from David's Bridal: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Satin-Peep-Toe-Platform-High-Heel-with-Bow-Maribelle
  12. Thanks :-) It was kinda awkward, so I couldn't get any pics, but we chopped out the hoopskirt, a bunch of crinolines, turned into a semi-sweetheart neckline and changed the train to a sweep train. I am so excited to see how it looks at the second fitting!!
  13. We thought about just letting him see it, but our moms had more to say about it than we did, so he and I decided he wouldn't see it in advance for them. They're not pushy with wedding stuff for the most part, but its something they were pretty vocal about LOL Me tooooo!!!
  14. I finally got my dress yesterday!! Had to drive all over creation to some FedEx facility 45 minutes away, but I have it in my hands and (thank God) it is too big!! We leave six weeks from tomorrow, so it was really coming down to the wire! I have my first fitting tonight, so I'll have to have my mom take some pics for me!
  15. Yay, Lindsay!! They are so beautiful! I checked out the pics last night, but it was just on my phone. They are gorgeous on my computer! What's the name of the Etsy seller?
  16. Hi Sara! Welcome to the group! Sorry you're not in Downers anymore (not that I'm biased or anything ) Maybe we'd have to get together in Downers or Woodfield for the burbs girls or something! I don't think you're behind in planning. Yes, a year will go quickly, but you're fine! Don't worry too much!
  17. Seriously?! Well, crap, I swear by this printer. I know how you feel. There is nothing more frustrating than technology problems you can't fix when you're on somewhat of a deadline!! Please let me know what works for you. I have some projects planned with shimmer cardstock and now I'm crossing my fingers.
  18. So gorgeous, MsBliss!! love your hair in the first two pictures, maybe half-up or side pony? something that will show off the beautiful neckline of that gorgeous dress! congrats!!
  19. What is the weight of the paper? I had major trouble with 110# cardstock, and tried everything, front loading inkjet, front loading laser, work copier, Kinkos, OfficeMax... even the industrial printers couldn't handle the heavy paper, but they could probably handle 60-80# paper. Maybe take a PDF on a thumb drive and a couple sheets of cardstock over to them and see if they can make it work? After all my drama, I got some advice from a bride on here to get a top/rear loading printer (HP Deskjet 3050A) and it was the only thing that worked for my super-heavy cardstock. Good luck!!!
  20. I'm so sorry, I have absolutely no idea where I found it! I used Excel to make my own (pasting the final version into powerpoint), using lists I found on different cruise/travel advice websites. Quote: Originally Posted by mrlddst Congrats on you pending nuptials!. I love it. These are all great ideas. Now I'm going to looking into the folders. Thanks!! Where did you find the list before you modified it? I don't have enough post to download yours.
  21. Thanks, girls! I'm really happy with them. I did make the luggage tags using Zazzle business cards (crap quality) and adding my own address label on the back. Holy crap Maritza! 70 notes?! I was ready to cut my hand off with 40! But I'm sure you're glad to be done with writing them!! :-)
  22. Just finished my pretrip packets! I'll be dropping them off and mailing them out in the next couple weeks! It's amazing what I can get done when FI isn't around LOL I could not be happier with these things! Here's the thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/78031/pre-trip-packet-passport-packing-list-luggage-tags Here's a pic of the packet.
  23. The Whole Package I put everything together into a black folder from www.envelopperinc.com, tied with blue ribbon and a Countdown to Paradise monogram tag. I personalized the monograms depending on the guest’s destination (cruise or St. Thomas). My mom had the awesome idea to tie the luggage tags to the front instead of trying to cram them inside (they’re kinda thick), and it turned out beautifully. Love my mama! The thank you for booking business card, wedding day timeline and wedding week events postcard were all free from VistaPrint. Everything went into white envelopes with address labels I printed at home and leftover return labels from our STDs. Other Files that Might Be Helpful That's all I got! Let me know if you have any questions! Can't wait to send these out! pretrip packet monograms.pptx passport_stamps2[1].pptx
