Justiner57- I too am looking into the pocket fold invitations with travel info. Thankfully for me my fsil is very creative and we will be making the invitations. Check out some of the forums on here. Some of the ladies post how they make their invitations. Hopefully that helps

I just got back from an international trip so I will have to call my wc tomorrow. Now that I am done with this trip it's strictly wedding planning. My contract says $500 for photographer but I didn't see anything about other vendors. Just that is must be booked by the wc. I wanted to get dj Doremixx for music. Not sure about the dj they use.

I am going to hire a videographer. Just for the ceremony and maybe a little after but I don't need an hour hour video of us dancing. People in my family have video cameras and my uncle loves to capture family moments so that can be his job

My mom bought me my dress. My fiancé and I are paying for the wedding. I'm her only daughter and my mom never really had a "wedding". Very grateful that she is doing that. I knew I didn't want an expensive dress since it would be in the beach so nothing too fancy. I made her laugh when I told her I needed another dress for my ttd.

I'm so excited. I can't wait to register. In NY when we have our bridal shower we get gifts from the registry. For our wedding we usually give money. I'm not sure how the wording is going to be. Since it is a small wedding hopefully we can tell everyone to not bring gifts away. If they'd like to give us a wedding gift they can give it to us when we return but we will not be askig for gifts. A dw is an expense and don't want for people to feel pressured. Their presence is the biggest gift I can ask for in sharing in our special day

I know from my experience I had to put down a $300 per room. At the end of the it will be put towards my stay. I probably won't spend as much but I am going to put it towards my mom and brothers rooms. It's almost like I paid for their stay upfront. Which is good being family of the bride it's nicer to pay little by little. At the end all the expenses can add up.

I'm getting married at Azul Beach too. I like those Mexican colors. Its different and totally doable in Mexico. Definitely fiesta colors. I'm using lime and purple but not everything will be those colors. I just booked but still deciding on extras.The booking is different that you do it from a website. Hopefully we can help each other good luck!

Hi Mandi! We choose the Pearl package the other packages had things more for a legal wedding and my fiancé and I are only doing symbolic ceremony. We will be getting married in NY before we leave. I believe you can't change things in the packages. So I didn't want to pay extra for things I don't necessarily need. Check out the lomas travel website. They have a section for weddings and that's where you pick things out. I wish they'd give us the name of the vendors. They do for photographers but not for dj, florist,or makeup. I have Grace as my wc and I'm sure I'll be asking her a whole bunch of questions. For those of you who booked already what type of rooms did you block for your guests?

I can understand. I thought a dw would be easier to plan but it's harder! My hotel is small and is more boutique so I had thought of that until my mom said thT spring breakers would not be coming to my hotel for a wedding. Its also the hotel your staying at as well. Good luck with your search!

@jetsettinbride. Have you thought about April? I know it's with Easter and everything but it'll be fine. I told my other brother who is in college when he signs up for that semester try to not have a Friday class. Or he'll have to take off that day and just come for the long weekend.. He'll miss Friday and Monday class if he has. Plus I think they'll understand hopefully if his sister is getting married. I'm the only sister the school ends late in June so we'd have to do it in July and I though it'd be really hot so we decided on April. It's so hard to try and pick a date with everyones schedules in mind. At the end of the day I'm like this is our wedding it shouldn't be hard lol. Hopefully you find a date and place. Good luck!

So I had to answer when I saw this. Originally I was going to have the wedding on cinco de mayo for 2012. It was hard to pick out a date when everyone was out of school. I have an 8 year old brother, little cousins, and in laws that work in the school system. I was set on my 5th with the hotel but then I was told that in NY the first two weeks of May are state testing. I was so annoyed! I'm half Mexican and my fiancé and our friends always celebrate cinco de mayo so it would have been great. We eventually changed it to April 7,2012. Everyone will be out of school so we are free. Until I realized that April 8th is Easter lol. You can't win everything. Who knows maybe we'll have an Easter egg hunt on the beach. Not to mention we'll beon vacation I think everyone would rather the beach

Yay! Azul Beach has it's own thread! so excited. Our wedding is April 7, 2012. Now that the hotel and date are set. Next is going to be dj and photographer. Those book quick! Any advice I would take ladies.
