Hello ladies! I am selling my brand new David's Bridal Wedding Dress. Style #1404-0161, size 8 in ivory. I bought this one a bit too early in my search for the perfect dress and realized its not "the one". I hope it's "the one" for you! The bust of the dress is detailed with crystals, there's a sash that tightens in your waist (it makes your waist look so small!), and the bottom of the dress has a lace overlay. I've also included a more detailed pic of the lace over a darker surface. It retailed for $900- I'm asking $300obo. -Sorry I didn't know how to edit the first post...I'm new to this!

Does anyone have any hotel bar recommendations on the Nizuc side? I am getting married at Tucan Beach and we are probably just going to have guests head over to one of the bars for our informal "cocktail hour" instead of paying for one. If anyone has any recommendations of decent outdoor (by the pool) and indoor bars that would be great!

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has or will be getting married at the Tucan Beach? I'm told it's directly in front of the Tucan Gazebo that's on the Nizuc side. My fiance and I are most likely just going to have all of our guests head to one of the hotel bars after the ceremony while we take pictures instead of doing a cocktail hour. Can anyone recommend any of the bars that are nearby? We're looking for an outdoor (by the pool) option and back-up indoor bar in case it rains. How is the lobby bar? We are going to have around 20 people. Thanks!

Hi! Moon Palace in Cancun on February 19, 2011!

Hello! We are having our AHR on 3/12/11...about three weeks after our wedding at Moon Palace! We have a photographer coming out for 8 hours to take photos- and doing the bride/groom & bridal party photos at a different location prior to the AHR. Since it is the middle of March, I'm debating whether I want to risk planning on outdoor locations for photos b/c the chances of good weather aren't that great. Does anyone have any beautiful indoor locations in Chicago or North/Northwest suburbs that are nice? We have a couple of hours with the photographer ahead of time so it would be nice if the places had enough versatility to spend an hour or so at each. Thanks!

We are doing personalized shot glasses from favorfavor.com. They have a silhouette of a palm tree and our names & wedding date. They are really cute and actually ended up being quite large! Larger then a normal shot glass. We also got a deal for a photo booth- one of those that prints out 4 pics on a strip of paper. Groupon.com had a coupon awhile back that was super discounted so we went ahead and did it! It was truly the only thing I wanted for the AHR!

Hello ladies! I am getting married at Moon Palace 2/19/11 -- I am starting my search for all the fun stuff to give the guests I'm looking for approx 20 OOT bags to give my guests...I'd prefer they all be similar but I'm not that picky. If you have any left over misc items that go in the OOT bags (aloe vera, sunblock, bath poofs, lanyards/plastic card holders, beach themed things, etc) please let me know! I'm looking for all of the above! I will continue to search everyone's threads as well!

Hello ladies! My FI and I are doing an AHR on 3/12/11...3 weeks after our wedding day on 2/19! We spent a lot of time researching different locations in Chicago to do a very casual AHR...appetizers, open bar,etc. After A LOT of research (and I'm not joking), we started to realize that having an open bar with just limited apps would be as expensive as having the whole sit-down reception in the suburbs. I figure if I'm gong to spend thousands of dollars...it's not going to be on quesadillas! So, we ended up going with the McHenry Country Club up in McHenry. Yes, pretty far from chicago, however it will end up costing us less then a casual bar thing in Chicago!

Great thanks! I did ask the TA in passing, but since all of our guests have not paid the balance in full (we paid the deposit and the rest is due end of December) she said she can't look into it until then. It seems that getting anything "free" requires a battle so I figured we weren't going to get an easy "yes" at that point anyway but i'll definitely work on being persistent when the time comes that we can start asking!

Hello again ladies! Has anyone here received the free cocktail hour and/or private reception if you didn't do the group room booking through the resort? I went through a travel agent (Liberty Travel) and am wondering if I should try to see if they will accept the rooms we have booked through the TA. Is it worth the effort? Thanks!

Hello ladies! It has taken me a good 3 weeks to get through all the posts here but it has been well worth it! I'm getting married on 2/19/11 and have learned so much from all of you ladies! Thank you all for making the effort to spread the info! I have a few questions...how has everyone accumulated enough points to open linked documents? I swear I post often, however I am no where near 150! If anyone has any points they can donate (I saw that you can do that??) or any ideas that would be so helpful! I have read on a few posts that many of you ladies have created word documents to outline the specifics of your "wedding plans" for your wedding coordinator. Since I can't open any docs, if you have created one can you please send it to my email? [email protected] -- I would REALLY appreciate it! Also, I am doing the complimentary package and probably just the dinner reservation at one of the restaurants. I have asked my WC if we can reserve an additional restaurant for the rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding. I haven't heard anything back yet -- will they do that? I don't think i'm going to get any "free" cocktail hour or reception/events...so will they allow you to book more then one reservation at a restaurant? Would they charge for it? Thanks ladies!

Hi Matt, Thank you for all of that information! A few questions for you: -How long did it take you to get a response from them regarding them approving you to work at the resort? -Can I ask what the amount of the fee is? -I've asked about an approved outside vendor list and they continue to avoid the question. Very frustrating! I am trying to get a photographer for only a couple of hours (2-3 hours) and it just doesn't make sense to me that they need to have a room booked for that short of a time. The photography packages they offer on the resort are SO expensive based on the amount of photographs and time you get from them. Any tips you can give me on what I should specifically ask, request, or be firm with them about would be helpful!
