The bride finally got back to me on the makeup. She said everything was clean and new for application of the makeup and had staying power. She was married at 2p on the beach and it still looked fantastic when she got back to her room later that night. It stayed on even with the sweating. LOL She also said that she doesn't normally wear makeup and it didn't feel caked on at all. Good thing!

After purchasing the Umbra frame, my fiance convinced me to keep it at home and we'll do it when we get back. Off I was to find vases... I didn't want to spend more money, so I figured I would borrow the resort's set. Yup, rental fee is $50. Because of this, I starting searching the internet and came across this great seller on etsy.com, EtchArt. Below is a picture of the set I purchased. Love that it came with stoppers for travel down and back. Best part! Engraving is free and they even let you engrave a phrase along with your names and date! I had him engrave the first part of our wedding invitiations, "Love makes life a paradise..." I love how they turned out! I jazzed mine up a bit by tying the neck of the large bottle with rafia and added an open heart charm with a palm tree charm over it.

Cinco de Mayo in Mexico
BeachBridein11 replied to Sharon99's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Cinco de Mayo is more a holiday in the US than Mexico, but since resorts tend to tourist I bet they will have something going on. Email the resort and find out! -
Hi AMC! When are you going to be in Jamaica? I wasn't too sure who you were replying to... Anyway I think it is an AWESOME idea to renew your vows while there! I say do it as a surprise! Have her bring/purchase a white dress. Just tell her you read somewhere they have a "White Party" every "insert day". She will love it! Such a great hubby you are! Congrats for conquering cancer! My mom is a 10+ year survivor!

BeachBridein11 replied to lmdels's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
Since there is so much information on this thread, I figured I would post this here as well. Attached is the activities schedule for GP. I plan on putting the information in my Welcome Booklet! GP Entertainment Program.ppt -

HAHA Not too much left to do on my end, I have to still make my Welcome Book and Puzzle Book. Still waiting for all the response cards w/menu choices. Hi Jessica! Yea on your STD!!!!! To answer your questions.... I have sent them emails on what I want, but from what a recent GP bride told me, you don't really need to finalize anything till the day you actually meet with the WC which is 2 days before. They know I have the Waves of Love package in blue, so my flowers are pretty much set since I'm not adding any extra. The corsages, boutinerres, and my BMs flowers I'm bringing with me; RealTouch flowers. Which are amazing and really do look and feel like real flowers!! Anyway, I don't have that much left to do. I'm waiting to receive all the response cards w/menu choice. I need to create my Welcome Booklet still as well as a puzzle book. Then I have my BD shoot April 29th and my shower April 30th, then I'm pretty much set!!! My bridesmaids and I finished our foot jewelry last night and they turned out amazing!! Countdown started yesterday at 2 months!!! Can't wait!!!

Shelly- Remember GP is running on island time! Waiting is not fun, but you will get a response back. As I mentioned on other threads, you receive a quicker response the closer you get to your wedding date. My range has been anywhere between 1 day - 6 days. LOL For the Waves of Love package, you can choose blue or a white/green combo. Have you been to their wedding website? palladiumweddings.com Each package list the available colors. As for a budget... there's a lot of factors that go in. Are you including travel cost in that budget or just the wedding? How long are you planning on staying? How many guests? Those answers are huge budget swingers. Any other questions, just ask! We're here to help! Oh, Welcome and Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the information snowbeltchick, which by the way, I hate your id name 'cause it's snowing this morning!!! AAAAHHHHH! LOL Anyway, that's awesome you got to extend yours! We thought about it, but decided to just move the party upstairs for the live band. LOL I read your 1am, haha I'm thinking I won't be able to make it up that late!!!

I guess I will go into detail for my wedding... We are getting married on the beach at 4p (Waves of Love package) and we've booked the Steel Drum Band! It is a lot for the band, but hey! You only get married once! Plus, after the ceremony you sign papers and there's a champagne toast, so it will be awesome to have that music in the background! Our reception is at 6p at the Blue Lagoon Restaurant. We booked the DJ as well as the Zurielamaka group. My fiance wanted a "true" reception, so that's why we are spending the extra $$$. He really wanted to make sure our guest felt that we went above a typical wedding since we decided to have a destination wedding and "making" everyone travel. I was planning on surprising him with the Zurielamaka group, but I was drunk one night and spilled the beans. HAHA He said he was so happy I told him that 'cause it made him more excited for the wedding and for the guests (though no1 else knows). LOL Photographer... we are going with SunGold Photography. Actually their associates since they're cheaper. I did splurge a little for pictures, we have 2 photographers for 8 hrs the day of the wedding, then another 2 hours the next day for a TTD session. I'm so excited for that!! Have fun planning!!!!

Welcome and Congrats hdinsmor!!! FYI I'm not sure if all of you have checked out the palladiumaddict.net website, but it has great information about the resort and also has a forum. A recent GP Jamaica bride just posted a review and she said everything was absolutely beautiful and perfect!!!! Yea!!!! I can't wait!!! 2 months and 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I will be stealing your idea!!! I agree, all the sites that offer "theme" garters are just too much! This is perfect! hatfiehm- Try footballfanatics.com ... I went there for Spartan and Red Wings earring and both had multiple pairs for only $6.95. I'm sure they will have a good selection for the Packers!

Dyeable Shoes?
BeachBridein11 replied to YaelM's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Any updates on dyeable shoes? I can't find 1-2" turquoise shoes anywhere or at least ones that I like! The previous post mentioned waterproofing them... I don't care if I ruin the shoe, I'm worried about my dress!!! Any brides use dyeables? Experience??? -
I guess that's the way to go (multiple people taking items down). I'm just looking at the pile of boxes I have in our spare room that needs to go down to Jamaica... I have no idea how we will get all of that down!!! LOL And it's only items for OTT bags, I'm not really bringing anything else down except for our wedding favors. I should probably start getting things together to see just how many people we need to take items down. LOL
