  1. As the actual wedding favor at the reception... we're doing shot glasses! When we travel, we always buy a shot glass. We're personalizing them with a Palm Tree and "Jamaica" and then our names and date in small print. I'm thinking of ordering extra and using them as candle holders and use them as part of the centerpiece. I love candle light!!!
  2. I love the idea of putting some of the sand from your destination in your frame!!! I say do it!!! I'm still debating on doing the sand ceremony. My concern is transferring it back to the States. Wouldn't it get mixed around and not look as nice?
  3. Such a great proposal!!!!! Definitely love the lab detail... mom to a 2 yr old yellow lab pup here!
  4. I'm a little late posting this since I got engage back in July, but I think he did a wonderful job!!!!! Here's my wonderful story as posted on my wedding website... Leaving very early on a Friday morning in July, Brandon and Stephanie left for a long weekend on Mackinac Island. Throughout the whole day, Stephanie couldn't help but notice Brandon being a little weird, either jumbling his words or just being out of it. She blew it off as him just being tired since they woke up so early. Later in the day, Brandon told Stephanie they had dinner reservations for the evening and to be ready at a specific time. Though Steph wasn't familiar with any of the restaurants on the island, B refused to tell her the place. Before heading to dinner, Brandon suggested a walk along the beach since they had time to spare. But before they left the hotel, Steph asked Brandon to carry her chapstick. He refused left and right, claiming he already had too many items in his pockets. With his phone, camera, and room key, he couldn't take the chapstick. Laughing the whole time, Steph was able to convince him to take it. While walking out of the hotel, he kept complaining about having too many things in his pocket. As they walked along the beach in front of Mission Pointe Resort, Brandon stopped Stephanie and started to kneel. He put his hand in his pocket and after struggling a bit (due to the chapstick!) he pulled out a ring and asked Steph to marry him! She instantly said "Yes!" and grabbed the ring out of his hand! Brandon had a private horse and buggy waiting for them to take them to the restaurant! When they arrived at The Woods, the manager congratulated them (B gave advance notice) and sat them at a very nice, candle-lite private table! Steph was now on Cloud 9 and Brandon was back to normal...
  5. I'm loving the oranges in the vase with water. Does anyone know if oranges are easy to come by in Jamaica?!?!
  6. Thank you very much!!! Dress shopping was sooooooooooo much fun!!! A little sad it's over now, but so much more to look forward to!
  7. Thanks!!!! I love it!! I just can't wait to try it on for the first time in my size! I've been calling it a mermaid, but I'm not sure if it's a "true mermaid". Close enough! LOL I believe it drops lower then a drop waist, so that's why I'm sticking to calling it a mermaid!
  8. I'm so excited for my dress!!!!! I ordered a San Patrick gown, Eresma! I love how it will flow in the Caribbean wind!!!!
  9. We're having a Steel Band perform during the ceremony and I'm so excited for it!! The only song I have picked out is Canon in D by Pachebel for when I walk down the aisle/sand (so original, I know!). Any suggestions for my bridesmaids (only 2)? Before? After? I'm thinking of keeping it "calm" when everyone is escorted to their seats and having it pick up after the ceremony. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Definitely will have them play The Tide is High!! LOL
  10. Yea for another June 2011 - Jamaica wedding!!!!! June 17th here! Have fun planning!!

  15. ehpage- Thanks for the update!! Quick question... does the Attraction & Tours have the year printed anywhere in it? If not, do you know if it was updated to reflect the new Dolphin Cove in Negril (I believe that's where they are advertising the new location as). Thanks!!!! Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
  16. fmichelle you are awesome!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!!!! Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!
  17. Okay I need some insight on the sun! LOL We want to take pictures during the sunset, which is slated for 645p in June. Now what does that mean? I'm confessing my ignorance here! Would we start taking pictures are 645p or would we do it before? If before, what time does the "pretty" colors show up? LOL Main issue... we're currently set for a 6p reception. We're fine with the delayed entrance if we take the pics starting at 6, but will the "process of the sun setting" be occuring then? If not, should we push the reception to 630p and start taking the pictures then? LOL Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
  18. We're having 2 people stand on each side. We're paying for 3 nights/flight for MoH and BM, but only 3 nights for the other two. Because of this, how "big" of a gift should we be giving to them? I know the trip itself can be considered enough, but we still feel like we need a token gift. At the same time, I feel like we need to give something significant 'cause they are still spending lots of money to come to the wedding. What to do? What to do??
  19. For Paula & Damian - www.sungoldphoto.com $1800 (2 hrs) - $3500 (8 hrs) Associates - www.wpajamaica.com $1200 (3 hrs) - $2800 (8 hrs) All include copyright free CD/DVD w/all usable images. There's multiple packages that all offer something a little different. The package/associate I chose includes a 2 hr TTD session and 2 photographers. Really excited for that!!! The above post is correct. The packages that are offered Mon-Thurs only are cheaper due to it being on an "off" day, so better deal. Packages that don't specify a certain day of week include your weekend days.
  20. FYI The post w/the pricing is from May '09. The prices have gone up since then. When I was quoted in October '10, they now range from $1200-3500 (US Dollars).
  21. Not sure where you heard that they don't work weddings on a Friday. Was it a certain photographer that you were trying to get? I'm currently booked with RS for my Friday wedding.
