  1. We're having a private reception for 40 people at the Blue Lagoon. We also went with the Wave of Love package! I'm so excited! If you don't mind, can you post the breakdown of cost for the beach reception? I'm curious on the extra cost for that. Thank you!
  2. Below is the menu I created for my wedding using PowerPoint. The table cards, escort cards, and program fans will all coordinate! Just waiting to receive them from Vistaprint (50 free!)!
  3. Haha! You made me laugh reading through your post! Congrats and great job! Everything looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
  4. I say... don't worry about the number of people! It's your special day and I'm sure your parents would love it if they were to walk down the aisle!
  5. I'm currently working on my menu, escort cards, and program fans. Almost done and about to upload to vistaprint! Yesterday I met up with my MoH and BM and we started planning my bachelorette party! So fun!!! On the down side, still trying to figure out what to do with all the men's pants... merrylee - have you started dress shopping yet? Did your FSIL wear a short gown?
  6. The extra $20/pp is for the ceremony portion... it's to cover the extra setup, champagne, and larger cake. I'm not sure about the range of price for the beach reception. If you were to hold a private reception at the Blue Lagoon, it's $45/pp. $50-$90 is a wide range though. LOL She didn't break it down for you?
  7. An update on my order... we ordered the pre-set sizes and they came in tight in thighs and waist. Good news is that they do leave plenty of material to let out. Will update again once I see how they turn out after alterations. BTW, we went to Men's Warehouse to get an estimate on alterations. Wanted to go there first since I figured they do that day in and out, all men stuff. LOL Anyway, since we didn't buy the suit there is was going to cost $25 to shorten the sleeves on his coat, $14 to hem the pants, and another $25 to let out the pants. I must be missing something, cuz it was going to cost $72 total for alterations! Luckily, our friends' mom is a seamstress and pretty sure we can trust her handywork. Fingers crossed! I'm pretty sure we will get a better deal through her. Anyway, just saying it actuallly does cost a lot to get the pants altered!
  8. I'm shocked that after 33-34 years and having kids she would be acting the way she is. It stinks that you're losing a friend you've had for years, but it is true that people just grow apart as they get older. I actually "departed" lol from a friendship a couple years ago with a girl I've been friends for close to 15 years as well. She was still stuck in that high school mentality and I just didn't care or need that anymore. LOL Honestly, can't really say I ever really missed her either. Still stinks to lose a friend though! Best wishes to you as always!
  9. OMG!!! I'm so sorry to hear this! Hopefully she will come around and realize what she's losing! Do you think she's jealous at all? If you don't mind me asking... how old are you two?
  10. They are amazing!!!! I wish I had one of those nifty machines, so that I can do these as well! Good job!
  11. Interested to know as well!!! I'm pretty sure, but unsure. Though I wonder if that would be a signal at customs to pull us aside. Any info anyone???
  12. Etiquette states that you should never mention a wedding registry on your wedding invite. Poor taste. You can have one, but only list that on the shower invite, otherwise parents and members of the wedding party should pass the information along.
  13. Every bride has to go through this and unless you've been to the resort prior, unfortunatly you don't know. I chose the Xaymaica menu... figured we're in Jamaica, so we should have Jamaica food! Good luck choosing!!! BTW, we had the menu chosen before we sent the invites. The guest will at least be able to choose their entree.
  14. Were you sold on this dress originally or did you have a hard time deciding between a few?
  15. Ditto!!! I hope invites havent gone out!! I was recently at a rehearsal dinner where alcoholic drinks weren't included. That was awkward, I can't imagine having to pay for the dinner as well!! If you can't change venue like the person mentioned above, I would come up with cash fast!
  16. My BD shoot falls along the same time as alterations. So 1.5 months for me! Aaaah!
  17. My dress came in!!!!! I was so nervous that it wouldn't fit because when they measured me, my bust, hips & waist all fell into different size ranges. LOL But it did fit! Perfectly!!! So excited!!! I was admiring it for a few minutes before I saw how beautiful the back is! I never got a chance to see it since all the sample sizes were larger and I was clamped up. Yea!!!!!!! Can't wait to wear it now!!
  18. Here's my update... My dress is in!!!! It came in last Wednesday and my mom and I went to pick it up Thursday. I was SO NERVOUS picking it up 'cause when I ordered the dress, each area that they measured (bust, waist, hips) fell into a different size group. LOL That was early December, before holiday eating! I'm so not good at dieting!!! Anyway, I really didn't expect it to fit, but lo and behold it did!!! I'm so excited!!!! I was admiring it for so long before I realize what the back looked like! It was awesome!! LOL I never really got a chance to see the back before since the sample sizes were so large and I was all clamped up! Yea!!! I have a month and a half to be in beach body shape; that's when alterations will start. On a downer note... I ordered my fiance's suit from studiosuits.com and we received them on Friday. We ordered him a size larger and it's too tight around the thighs. We're going to take it to a tailor this week and see if they can let it out, otherwise I'm SOL on all that money!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!
  19. To start, I ordered the pre-set sizes.... I received my fiance's suit Friday along with the groomsmen and fathers pants. We ordered a 34R pant for my fiance which is a size larger since they didn't offer his size in the pre-sets. He just got measured for his brother's wedding the week I ordered them, so I was sure of his size... He tried on the suit and it was tight!! Not so much the waist (which should have been loose since it's an extra inch!), but rather so the thighs! He's planning on losing weight for the wedding as it is, so I'm sure it will be fine (though will thighs shrink?!), but what about the other pants I ordered?!?!? I haven't actually measured the pants yet, to verify they were made correctly, but I'm so scared!! His dad and brother will be trying on theirs tonight... I'm so nervous!! Everyone keeps saying that it was a good thing I ordered them early, so we can return/exchange... I don't have the guts to tell them we can't! AHHHH!
