  1. I ordered the bags online. I went to my t-shirt guy (screen prints and embroiders for my school) and he said he could do it. Of course he didn't respond to my email, I had to call him, and he still didn't give me a quote. Instead wanted to chit chat. hahaha! I like going through him though, he used to teach p.e. like me!
  2. yes I did. They are business card stickers. I searched my emails and couldn't find a free option for them, but wanted them anyway. After I got them, I cut them in half, each sticker has 2 labels.
  3. I just finished mine. I ordered business card stickers and had the 2 sideways logos per sticker. They say "you may kiss the bride... But ask Paul first" I will post pictures as soon as I can. I don't think they are lame, I like them.
  4. I want everyone in the wedding party, including myself and fiance to be barefoot. I am worried about the heat of the sand so I'll have to try it out the days prior to the ceremony! On my invites it says "Barefoot Ceremony: July 14, 2011"... hopefully the guests will follow suit!
  5. I love the converible dress! If anyone bought them and used them, please post pictures or info!~
  6. I'm heavily considering this. Has anyone gone for it? Maybe I'll purchase one for them to try on, if they don't like it I'll keep it. If they do, I'll order more? If anyone did purchase, can you post pics?
  7. I'll start with sharing plans for the smaller weddings: We are having a semi-private reception in one of the restaurants. I can't see spending money on dinners that my guests have already paid for through their "all-inclusive" package. Other than that we are thinking of heading to a common "disco" afterwards for some fun. We were also thinking of a scavenger hunt the day before. I'll order the "customer cards" from vista print and have it customized to our resort. Our guests will have to go get their cards punched from different bars or people around the resort ... that could be so much fun, and a great way for our guests to learn their way around and all their options! Anyone else?
  8. It is so refreshing to see this post! Just yesterday I was looking for posts from people in my shoes. I had so many people that were very excited about the wedding, and now less and less. My FI and I specifically asked my uncle, because he was planning to marry us. Him and his wife (who are avid scuba divers and travel enthusiasts) were very excited. We also asked my FI SIL because she's picky... and she thought it was a great idea too! Well they both backed out, along with tons of other people that said they would go. I began buying a lot of things for oot bags, and now am backing off until it gets closer so I don't waste my money. I told my sisters that the girls on this website have tons of people booked, and that I must be doing something wrong! They were so supportive with "Forget them, we'll have a blast without them". Everyone says "You're having a reception when you get back, aren't you?" and everytime they ask this I can't help but wonder if the AHR will have to be bigger then I originally expected just to accomodate the people who can't go (I only wanted a small party back home) This is always what I've wanted, but I guess I expected people to be more honest then telling me what I wanted to hear. Out of 120 invites, we have 5 people booked for a July wedding.
  9. I just purchased from cheap totes and I received them in the mail real quick. I'm currently contacting people about screen printing so I don't have to... we'll see. I think the bags are thin, but great. They will work and for that price you can't complain!
  10. wow! I showed Paul and he swears it was created and is run by women in an attempt to "trick" men into getting involved. he's crazy!
  11. This goes along with the above post. We have the same dress I think! Quote: Originally Posted by KarenM here's mine on the model and on me

  13. thanks for the quick response! Hot pink and yellow it is!
  14. I think if I were in your shoes, I would plan a "dinner" with the parents before we depart, and go to the courthouse (or have an officient come to your home) and marry the two of you. Let your parents know how important it is for them to be a part of it, but that this is also not to be common knowledge to other people. That you will be using your DR wedding as your official wedding date. Then celebrate and enjoy your family... this is to be a happy time with the people you love, the date on your marriage certificate will not matter in your love for one another.
  15. Those are really great dolls. I like the startfish wine stopper as well! I'm going to be broke when this is all over!

  17. I've been wondering this same thing. Would it be comparable in price to mail the bags to the resort ahead of time? My guests are all on different departure dates and airports so I can't hand them out before hand. I could check them as bags, but that may add up.
  18. I think I'm going to go this route, but I was wondering what other brides are doing about colors. Are you getting a variety of colors, and randomly putting them in oot bags... or just purchasing your wedding colors, the women either get one or the other? My colors are hot pink and butter yellow. Those colors aren't for everyone
  19. My fiance and I are both teachers. Many of the people we've invited to our wedding are either paras or teachers so to not have any scheduling problems, we chose July. It would be nice to go to Punta Cana in the winter when a sunshine break is needed, but it just didn't work out that way.
  20. I haven't bought chapstick yet. I've read that dollar tree has 3 packs of chapstick at times, so I'm keeping my eyes open for this. I'll have to see how the chapstick labels work after they come in. I'll keep you posted. I'm adding more to my bags, but I figure if I do a little at a time, it won't seem so costly.
  21. I think that after this wedding is planned I will know enough about what works and what doesn't work that I could go into business for "Destination Wedding Planning". Unfortunatly as soon as you perfect something, you've done it and it doesn't need to be done again. Is anyone making their own bouquets?
  22. So I wanted to share my progress! My fiance and I are both teachers, and a couple days before holiday break I promised him I would put the planning on hold until break... well I sure made up for that agreement since we've been off. I'm getting my oot bags started and I'm having a blast! Here's what I've ordered, I'll post pictures when everything comes in! vistaprint: chapstick labels from sticky business cards survival kit tags from oversized postcards (i may have to reorder with regular sized postcards) luggage tags from business cards towel tags from business cards do not disturb door hangers from rack cards welcome letters from oversized postcards I've also ordered all the free stuff, but not sure what I'm doing with it yet! I've also ordered totes from cheaptotes.com... now going to figure out how to screen print them Stopped at the dollar tree for: 3 for $1 hand sanitizer colorful bandaids soduko books and wordsearches individual tylonol packs even though I still have a lot to still do, I'm excited I got started. One great find is palm tree goody bags at oriental trading co. Now I'm searching for beach towels and fans! happy wedding planning!
