  1. Do you know where to buy those lanterns with the pics in them? Or how to make them?
  2. I see a buffet warmer there. Did you have your cocktail hour right there on the beach afterward?
  3. The bonfire is $250 I think, then you have to pay per person for bar (I think $8/person but I will have to double check that).
  4. Did you wait until then to choose your ceremony and reception locations? I know the resort doesn't list a beach reception but does anyone know if it's possible?
  5. We would like to do something like this too. Are they able to provide a dj on the beach?
  6. Hi, Does anyone have a contact email for the wedding coordinator at this hotel? We have worked out room/airfare with our TA but cannot get a wedding date confirmed. We are going to lose this rate if someone doesn't get back to us and have to go looking for a requote which is likely to sell out or go up (this has already happened to us once). If anyone has some contact info where I could get a wedding date confirmed that would be great. Thanks in advance!
  7. Did you make or buy the flower strings? If you bought them, can you tell me where I might find some?
  8. Hi, Can you email these price lists? I cannot open them either. Thanks~ [email protected] Ryan Lue-Clarke Photography.doc Saab Wedding Prices.doc Sungold 2008-2009.doc
  9. Thanks for the review! How many people can fit on the terrace for the ceremony? Do you know where I can find information on add ons for ceremony set up/receptions besides what's listed on the website in the packages?
  10. How's the ocean for swimming? In all of the pics, it looks like there is nobody in the water. We are thinking of honeymooning here afterwards.
  11. I'm from Ft. McMurray and we are getting married at Azul Fives on July 11th, 2011.
  12. I am not sure if you have read this. Here a review I just read on Trip Advisor: "We were not originally scheduled to stay at Azul Fives, but due to an explosion at the Princess resort; we were relocated to Azul Fives by Karisma. . . BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO US. I want to thank all the staff and management at Azul Fives – you made our week and most important our Wedding the most memorable time of our life. We appreciate everything you have done for us during that week. We appreciate you being able to take us in such a short notice. We would like to congratulate you on a week of hard work – I have never seen people work so hard while being friendly and smiling all the time. Faith Wishnie (Karisme Hotels) you are absolutely amazing, thank you for pulling this off – so organized – you got this done!!!! I will keep you in my books for a long time. Estefania, Claudia & Arturo – (wedding coordinators) Valeria (Lomas Travel) Miguel & Alberto (food and beverages) - Estás personas maravillosas, No puedo gracias lo suficientemente. ;0) GRACIAS! Upon arrival, we were treated like royalty. They welcomed us with champagne and personalized check in. We had the option to choose between 3 aromatherapy scents and 3 room scents during our stay. Ok boys! I know you don’t care about this but this is good for the ladies!!!! Wedding Experience – BETTER THAN PERFECT! Flawless…. We arrived Thursday afternoon and Friday we met with Estefania, Claudia and Arturo to go through our wedding plans. They are the most fantastic people ever. We were greeted with champagne and or d’oeuvre. Yummy! We also sat down with Miguel (head chef) What a GEM! He took such good care of us, and he would do absolutely anything for us. We pick the deluxe grill menu. OH my gosh! It was so good - they grilled the meat fresh on the BBQ the night of the wedding! The food was sooooo good! We also met with Alberto (beverages director). What a sweet man. He made us special purple drink for our cocktail hour to match our wedding colors. He then met with us on our second last day and spent some time with us chatting about all kind of things. Truly wonderful man! Estefania, Claudia, Arturo (wedding coordinator) & Valeria (off-site wedding contact). I don’t have enough words to explain how great you guys were. From the moment we were switch resort to the day we left your resort – we were treated with so much respect and anything we needed you were there with a smile on. I remember one night having diner with my husband at the Tsuki restaurant and Arturo came to see us to chat and congratulate us – it made us smile, to be greeted like this. DJ – soooooooo cool !!!! The music was perfect, the lights were perfect and the balloons, the glow sticks and the bubble machine WOW. Thank you. SPA: The NEW spa is gorgeous, 2 stories with many different treatment rooms. The hair stylists are good and creative. I DEFINETLY RECOMMEND THE BEACH CEREMONY, COCKTAIL AT THE SKY BAR, BEACH DINER AND RECEPTION AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAVING THE DJ ON THE BEACH. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! Service at this resort is top notch. The people were so friendly and helpful and would do anything to help you. We had four younger children in our group and the staff was so accommodating and friendly to them all the time. Pool – infinity pool was amazing, looking out to the ocean. You can’t ask for better than that! Pool staff were always there bringing you towels, setting up your chairs. They come around with cold scented towels, evian spritzer and gourmet “treats†like fruit/frozen fruit on a stick at the pool. Thank you Christian! We always had a good pick of chairs – although the resort was busy it never felt like we didn’t have room to sit. The bar staff coming up to serve you your drink on the beach or at the pool It was PERFECT! These boys work hard! The Rooms – it doesn’t matter your room type they are all gorgeous. They are all nicely located. Almost every room has a pool side and swim-up bar. Food/Drink Service: • Food was amazing – Luis our favourite server, WE LOVE HIM! • Breakfast at Flavours was amazing, the “food display†(they don’t use the word buffet) but it was awesome and they would make you anything you want • Ate lunch at Sea Olives (Mediterranean) for lunch and diner several times, sooooooooo GOOD Asian restaurant called Tsuki was amazing and would make whatever you wanted especially in terms of sushi. • Also have 2 “gourmet corners†(snack bars) the Lizards and the Palmas at 2 of the pool bars...had amazing guacamole, thin crust pizza & panini! The staff there is so fun!!!! And they work really hard - Entertainment (daytime/night time) Lester and Halario – were the funniest, most entertaining guys there! Excellente! Water aerobics, salsa, volleyball, Human darts, croquet etc. We ask for music they play music. Great guys! Zky Bar after diner is amazing, great ambiance, large plush outdoor “bedsâ€. Great drinks & music and shows AZULITOS: There is a full kids club on site, with a kiddie pool and kiddie beach beds. They also offer the Fisher Price Toy Lending Program plus the My Gym trampolines and climbing equipment. They will also offer in room movies and popcorn service!! I wish I could go back to this resort right – it was clean, beautiful, fun, the weather was great. 5 star hotel!!!!"
  13. Hi Melanie, Were you able to wear shoes for your ceremony? Also, was the ceremony set up included in the package or did you have to pay extra for the flowers and fabric?
  14. Yes, mine are baguettes on the side. I love it! I believe there is another Tacori style that is the same but with the round diamond on the side. I love yours too Keedon!
  15. Thanks so much for the information! The pictures are beautiful. Have a wonderful week in San Francisco!
  16. I also have my heart set on a legal ceremony. Has anyone done a legal ceremony in Mexico and wished they had not? Has anyone done a legal ceremony in Mexico and really happy they did?
  17. Where are you located? I am in Canada so if you are in the US, it probably wouldn't save me much once we add the shipping.
  18. We'd like to do something like this! Thanks for the great idea. Did you mail out dvd's to your guests or did you email them with the video?
  19. Hi, I am also hunting for info and reviews on this place. We are planning to book here for July. Here is some information I just got from another bride that just had her wedding there: "We chose the Silver package and it was worth every penny - but actually was cheaper for us than the Princess! (We were supposed to do the private beach reception at the Princess so our wedding was looking to be very expensive there). Our ceremony was on the beach and it was a beautiful setup. We also had a beach reception with the family style dinner and a DJ. It was great fun and I would definitely recommend it. We moved into the bar afterwards to continue dancing. The resort was not full or very busy so you never had to jockey around for a beach chair, which we loved. The staff is fantastic. The wedding itself went very well - the wedding coordinators there are super attentive and helpful - they made things easy. The explosion happened two weeks before we were set to leave, and then they closed it one week before we were set to leave. It was so stressful - but the Azul Fives was really beautiful. And it's only 5 min away on the beach from the Princess! I didn't make it over there myself, but some of our guests did and all said they were happy we were where we were. The beach was amazing - the sand was SO soft. I was told that right into the water there are some rocks right away, but I also heard that if you go down a little bit there aren't any rocks. Or if you have water shoes its fine. I was all over the pools. I was worried that there are only 2 pools too - but the infinity pool is gorgeous and the winding river pool is ridiculously huge - you don't even notice, trust me. We had a DJ for our reception - complete with fog machine, bubble machine, light show, balloons, neon bracelets - it was hilarious. We had that till about 10 and then heading into the Zky Bar nearby. We were going to do a cocktail reception, but decided to scrap it. Our guests just went to Zky Bar or freshened up. It worked well. No idea if they have a donkey option!! My stylist is a good friend and she and her BF came to our wedding. I paid for half her ticket and she did all of our hair! I did my own makeup - went to a couple places here in Calgary and got makeovers and took notes. I toyed with the idea of getting it done, but decided to stick with what i know. I love doing makeup. One thing i didn't like about the resort was the lighting in the room - its not great - especially for putting on makeup! Must have been designed by a man. But it worked fine - i didn't look clownish!! So I don't have any info on hair/makeup at the resort - the spa is gorgeous and I heard great things from our guests who had some services there. All of our guests were moved into the Deluxe Room category. We were refugees from the Riviera Princess so Air Canada Vacations moved us all there. Its weird, the deluxe rooms only come with 2 beds, you can't get a single king in them. The rooms are lovely, and noone complained - i just thought it was odd. As the bridal couple, we were upgraded for free to the 1BDR suite which is HUGE and gorgeous. You will likely get that too". Hope that helps. I think this place is a great pick and we are super excited to book our wedding here!
