Everyone says I made the right choice with the dress. I must be crazy, but I still love my 2nd choice too. Maybe for the next wedding. lol, just kidding. LOVE this!!! I really love the 3D flower textures in wedding dresses. Yes, this happened to me with a bridesmaid dress just a few months ago. They ordered "my size," and it needed like an extra inch! They had to take it out and did a bad job, it was a mess. In the end, I didn't even get to wear it, the wedding is posponed until next spring. Who knows how it will fit then... The skirt on this is absolutely beautiful, and you looked radiant! Congrats!

For your welcome dinner, you can just make a reservation. I would let the wedding coordinator know about that even before you arrive, to make sure you get your reservation and first choice of restaurant for the day you want. You may also want to consider the balcony for your ceremony, that's what we're doing. Marcia Roberts generally gets good reviews and her prices are very competitive, plus her package is all-day, not by hour. When I started looking, I got quotes from a bunch of photographers, it's really not a lot of work. They all have a form to fill out on their website, or an email address at least, and they were all very prompt in getting back to me. Best of luck with your planning!

Oh, yes, I remember you posting about a Galante-like dress. I tried on the Galante as well I loved the ruffles on it, but I didn't like the neckline.

I finally picked up my dress a week ago, but unfortunately I need to do alterations. I really wish I had ordered one size smaller, but I was afraid. I ended up losing some weight, too, so it needs to be taken in quite a bit through the waist. And the bust of course, that would've had to be done no matter what. The length might actually be ok - it would only need to be shortened by a teeny bit, so I'm not sure if it will be worth the cost to do it. I'm soooo excited to wear it, I'm in love with it!

We sent out STD's about 11 months before, and had a wedding website and facebook group set up. 4 months before the wedding we set up our group rate, and the deadline for booking is 2 months before the wedding (this Friday coming up, actually). We sent formal invites 3 months before, but that's just a formality because everyone already had all the info and group prices. I put the RSVP deadline with the STD's as 4 months before, but very few people actually RSVP'd then, maybe 10%. With the formal invites, we set RSVP deadline of about one month before. But I'm not really waiting on RSVP's - I either talk to people personally to try to get an idea, or just assume they won't be coming I also told people who were undecided that I don't mind if they leave booking for last minute, I'm not going to turn anyone away. Our weddings at the Beach/Suites are flexible enough to allow even last-minute additions. I'm not doing a lot of extra things like chair covers and whatnot, so I don't need exact numbers. My wedding isn't on the beach, it will be on a balcony. Here are my shoes. They're a little too white compared to my dress, but I've decided I can live with it. They're Aldo's Strozier. As high as I can go without being uncomfortable, and they're very grippy on the bottom, love them.

I know, I was devastated when I saw the prices. But the thing is, I've never seen prices this low, not even last-minute prices, at any time of year. I'm just glad we managed to adjust our guests' rates (they wouldn't budge on our rate, but that's fine). I think they are selling out - just a few days ago Sunquest had Monday departures, and now they're sold out. So I'm guessing the weekend ones will sell out very soon at the lower rates. I totally understand how you feel, try not to let it affect your mood for the next 3 months. Actually - has your group paid in full? Your wedding is later than mine, and our full payment wasn't due until 60 days before. That's why I was able to negotiate, because otherwise we would've walked away, left out deposit and re-booked (though I was worried there wouldn't be enough seats left, just like you said). Anyway, just wondering if you may still have some leverage to re-negotiate. If not, then try not to worry about it, what's done is done, and in the end everyone will be happy they were there for your wedding How is your planning going? I've had such a crazy year, I haven't had much time to devote to wedding planning. But I have my dress (need to get it altered though) and shoes and veil, bridesmaids have dresses, groom has a suit, photographer is booked. I still need to figure out flowers, jewelery, hair, clothing for the groomsmen, favours... And probably lots of little things I'm forgetting. Hope your planning is going well

Yes, we are working with a travel agent for the group rate. She just got back to me - they are dropping the price for the guests' one week stay, but I'm not sure yet if they will drop our price as well, which was for a 2-week stay. So I guess prices didn't drop wherever you are - it's so odd. I've never seen rates this low, I'm trying to understand why they dropped so dramatically and suddenly. Does anyone have an idea?

Is anyone else having pricing issues for Montego Bay for this fall/winter? We set up our group rate at the end of July for the Beach for Nov 12-19, for $1480 (from Toronto). That was a good price at the time (online prices were $1700-1800), and from what I was seeing for the past year. I've been following prices since last fall. However, prices have DRAMATICALLY dropped in the past few weeks. Sunquest is now offering $1069 for the exact same dates, Sunwing is at $1300. Prices are super low across the board, all the way into next year, not just the next month or two. I'm talking price drops of $500 or more. Does anyone know why this is? Is everyone else experiencing the same thing in their region? Economic reasons? Something going on in Jamaica? Bad hurricanes coming? At this point, I think I will have to advise my guests to forfeit their $200 deposits, and book Sunquest, and still save $250. Isn't that insane? I'm so stressed out. I've been super busy with a recent move, so I've been away from the boards. Sorry if this has already been discussed, I'm just really behind on wedding stuff right now

That's a stunning ring! It's funny how everyone has such different taste - my main requirement was a 6-prong round. I don't particularly like how 4-prongs make the round diamonds look more square. It never occurred to me that others would prefer that look. lol. Anyway, this isn't meant to take away from my earlier compliment, your ring is absolutely beautiful, congrats!

LOL. You sound like my fiance. He's been loving diamonds too. He totally wants one in his band. I got my band this week. I love it, it matches perfectly, and it looks very pretty on its own too. However, they had to size it down 2 sizes, and I don't know anything about these things. After sizing, it looks a little crooked and uneven. It's nothing anyone would ever notice, but it sort of bugs me. Is anyone else's ring a little wonky?

Oh yeah. It says right in the document. My bad. So yes, it does include a DJ and open bar, 8:30-10:30 pm. Available for groups of 30 or more. We are leaning towards having a semi-private dinner, and then moving over to the disco for the 2 hours to do first dances, and start the party. Then we can stick around at 10:30 once it opens to the public. I'm afraid that if we have to move from the restaurant to the disco at 10:30, it will really break up the party. Also, the cost savings is pretty big for renting the disco only ($350), vs. renting restaurant ($800), plus DJ ($450), plus open bar (lots of $$$$). This way, we'll just skip the open bar at dinner. I'm not sure we'll have 30 people, but I'm having the disco prive regardless, they will just have to deal with it. lol

Does anyone know if the disco rental includes a DJ? Or do we still have to pay the $450 extra?

Love them both! You can totally make it work - you can either alternate wearing them, or wear the e-ring on your right hand. Are your fingers the same size on both hands? I wish mine were - I can't even move my e-ring onto my right hand for the ceremony, it won't go on!
