  1. palacebride27 - The second dress is clearly the winner. It's so great that you followed your heart and you're so happy about it latinive - The dress fits you beautifully! Congrats, you look so happy and gorgeous
  2. I received my flower, from etsy seller annapanik. It's really nice, but I'm worried that it pulls away from my hair too much, like it curves upward too much. But it could be just me, I'll see what the hairdresser does with it, and my veil. I don't really know how I want it yet Maybe veil for the ceremony, and flower for later on....
  3. There are so many brides with that dress! It's no wonder, it's beautiful! I'm a Montego Bay bride as well, one week to go!

  5. You look radiant, I love the dress! - coming from another Iberostar Rose Hall Bride
  6. Regarding photographers - I've always gotten replies from Marcia or her assistant within a day or two. They've been easy to communicate with. Misha was also super nice, but will cost you a lot more. I had quite a bit of contact with Brian Nejedly as well, and he was so nice. I also exchanged some emails with the Digipix guy, and he was also very nice and seemed accomodating, I just didn't feel comfortable because I couldn't find many real bride's reviews. In the end, I chose Marcia because she offered the lowest price, without compromising quality. Remember to also factor in whether they bring an assistant/ shadow shooter, and whether they pay the vendor's fees (I know Misha does). As for the quality of their work, it can be subjective. I know I personally didn't like the portfolios of Stacey Clarke or Saab very much, though I can't tell you exactly why...
  7. I'll be using her for video in 2 weeks, I can report back at the end of Nov.
  8. mrstgun - You looked absolutely beautiful, and Marcia did an amazing job on your pics. I think they're some of my favourites that I've seen from her. It makes me so excited, because we have her booked for our wedding in 2 weeks!
  9. This is just my opinion, but honestly, a cocktail hour after the ceremony is useless. I'd rather give my guests time to go back their room and freshen up and change, or do whatever they want to do. Even if you plan a cocktail hour, they may not even stay. They can go and grab snacks and drinks for free anyway. You don't need to keep them entertained for that time. Just my opinion. I would suggest you take that money and plan a welcome party instead, for everyone to meet each other when you all arrive, and to communicate any important info to everyone at the same time.
  10. Does anyone know what kind of knife they provide for cutting the cake, at the Beach? Wondering if we should take our own.

  12. JMikla - You look beautiful, it does fit you perfectly. It seems to be a popular dress these days I actually tried it on as well, but in the end went for a similar style with less bling. Am I the only one who thought the ruffles were odd on one thigh? Like the ruffles went in and stopped, and then started again? Maybe it was just me.

I remember from an earlier post that someone said they didn't have to pay a day pass for her but I'm not sure if that's standard or not. Most of the accounts of not paying for Rashel are from the Suites. I'd like to hear from brides who used her at the Beach.
  14. Any brides at the Beach recently who worked with Rashel? I'm wondering if they will try to charge a day pass fee. For her plus the hairdresser, that's $150, and they won't even be staying. I think I may have forgotten to factor this in when I decided to book Rashel instead of using the salon.
  15. I love them both! I wanted coral as well, but we ended up buying from the mall, and the dress we wanted is fuchsia/red. I love it anyway, I think the colour will really pop (see a few posts above).
  16. Regarding the vendor fees - this is what my contract says for the Beach. It doesn't say anything about an extra vendor fee, so I won't be paying it. I didn't realize about having to pay the $18 for them as well, and I agree it doesn't make much sense, since their day pass fee should cover the cost of food, and they won't need champagne, cake, extra chairs set out, etc. __________________________________ PHOTOGRAPHER: the hotel has an exclusivity agreement with the Photoshop on property “Digipix Ltd.â€. If the couple desires to hire the services of any other photo shop or photographer they should pay for a day pass fee in order to allow the photographer on property. The current fee is $US75.00 per person.
  17. Yep, tell your guests not to wait for last minute if they have their hearts set on going. We just found out today that both the Beach and Suites are sold out between Nov 5-20, and our wedding is the 16th. There were a few people who wanted to book but were waiting - now they may not be able to go
  18. Thanks for the info! I'll probably ask my wedding coordinator for the cost from the Iberostar.
  19. We're planning to go on a daytrip to Dunn's River Falls from Montego Bay (Iberostar). Does anyone have recommendations for where and how to book a daytrip? How much should we expect to pay? Any other tips? Thanks
  20. We picked up my guy's custom-made band today. He was soooo picky, we looked for so long before finding one he liked, and then we even had to customize that one. Who would've thought he'd be the tough one to please? I'm just happy he loves it. I wish we had found this jeweler while we were looking for my e-ring, but that's long done. And here's my set. I've already posted it, but here goes anyway.

I thought he did a wonderful job, and I can't wait to marry my prince charming. Here is a picture of my beautiful ring that he picked out all by himself! I can't quit looking at it. Congrats! There are so many beautiful and unique rings posted lately, but I have to pick yours as one of my favourites, ever! Absolutely stunning! Wow, we're almost ring twins - see my next post below

We'll need about $1500-2000 to take out, minimum, so that's a lot of fees and a lot of hassle too. Tai Flora doesn't want me to mail a money order, they want bank transfer or credit card. I'll have to find out what's the more cost-effective option.

The other payment options are cashier's check or bank transfer, and those would also cost money. I also don't like to travel with so much cash, and with having to pay cash to the photographer and the band, plus random tipping, it's too much cash to travel with IMO. Also, they're not located on the resort and the wedding day might be hectic to try to catch them when they're delivering the flowers, I just don't want to be stressing about it. I might just pay credit card because it's so much less hassle. They also ask to send copy of photo ID with the credit card payment, but I refuse to do that, so we'll see if it's a dealbreaker.
