I totally forgot to mention! Can you guys believe it, I randomly ran into another BDW bride (sn2bMrsMarshall) at the resort, her wedding was 2 days before mine. Not sure where she's been since the wedding - Sheena, if you're around, I wanna see pics!! I didn't get to see her wedding because we were at Dunn's River Falls that day, but my hubby saw them taking pictures on the beach later, and he said she looked amazing.

I didn't want to stress over every detail, so I left it up to them. They just make you pick square or round, chocolate or vanilla. I didn't even tell them whether I wanted white or green or pink orchids on it, I didn't really care. It really was delicious though, I wish I could've had more, but it's all such a whirlwind when you're in the middle of it. And they do provide the knife to cut the cake, and the WC cuts it all up and serves it once the photo op in finished.

One Steakhouse is Uncle Tony's, and the other is Aunt Ruby's. One is at the Beach, the other at the Suites (I always forget which is which). As for the weather, it was totally fine for us in mid-November. Not as humid as the worst of Toronto. There's usually a bit of a breeze too. That said, my legs got really hot and sweaty under my dress while sitting down during dinner, but otherwise I was fine. My husband was fine in his suit for the ceremony and pictures (a very light wool suit - please don't make yours wear polyester!). Hope this helps!

There's only one, located at the Suites, and available to all 3 resorts. I suggest booking as early as you can, if you want it. I asked about 2 months before, and she said it was too early but put me on the list. I did get it in the end. I don't know if it's a common request, and what the chances are that it would be requested by more than one bride. Just ask early.

Here are a few more details. I'd be happy to try to find a picture if there's anything else in particular you're looking to see. "A" menu appetizers Arch flower arrangement (Tai flora, standard $85 as per pricelist) Standard cake - it was delicious!! flowers - my bouquet wasn't standard, I upgraded. Standard boutonniere for groom, and corsage for mom (extra $$ as per pricelist)

Actually, the beach location at the Grand is very private. The Grand beach is not as crowded anyway, there's no one ever at the very end. The spot is all the way at the west end of the beach strip, and there are some rocks there too, which makes it nice. Let me try to find you some pics of the location.

Wedding Gowns - You VS Model
starrysim replied to ~Melissa~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I don't have the pro pics yet, but I couldn't wait to post in my favourite thread -
The rehearsal dinner isn't supposed to be for your whole group, just the bridal party and parents. I really wouldn't suggest having a dinner for your whole group the night before. Maybe you can book a few a la carte dinner for groups - one night for friends/co-workers, one night for your side of the family, one night for his side. We had 31 people, and we booked two group dinners - one for my side, one for his side. We had a rehearsal dinner the night before for bridal party (and their partners) and parents. On another note, glad to hear you've got the steel pans band! We had them at our ceremony. They played while guests were arriving, and they also playved the Canon in D for my entrance, and they played while we were signing, and champagne afterwards. We had them for an hour, it worked out well. I liked it so much more than recorded music. We forgot to tip them though

Yes, I will post a review and a planning thread, but I need a few days to get back into the swing of things at home. Steakhouse reception was good. There were barely any other people, especially because we were there right at the beginning of dinner time, people arrived later. Honestly, I didn't even notice anyone else. The only thing is, you can't do speeches or dancing or anything. But it's so much more cost-effective to rent the disco instead ($800 restaurant, plus open bar and DJ, versus $350 disco, which includes open bar and DJ). Service was wonderful, throughout the resort in general. Silvia also moved the arch centerpiece behind our table at dinner, and our arrangement from the signing table became the head table centerpiece. You don't need a lot of decorations IMO. All we had were the 4 orchid cylinder centerpieces, which everyone loved. It wasn't too hot, though my legs got hot under my dress. But for normal people NOT wearing 8 layers of polyester, it was fine. Not sure about the weather in April. I really liked that we rented out the disco. Silvia actually had the little golf carts take us right from the Steakhouse to the disco, so it was quick and we didn't loose people in the migration We didn't do any decorating or anything at the disco, it's really not needed. The DJ was allright. I took my iPod touch with the songs for the first dance and father dance, I even told him when to fade out the song, and everything was seamless. I also gave him a few songs to play later on (foreign language). He pretty much played the kind of stuff we asked, and he also did our intros for the dances and speeches. Then we danced and kept going when the club opened to the public. I liked that we didn't have to stop at 10:30 and then move over, as we would've had to do if we had a restaurant reception. The flowers were all very nice, except my bouquet. Some of the flowers looked wilted for some reason, the lilies weren't open enough (barely showed the colour), and flowers kept falling out. Otherwise, all the other flowers and centerpieces were perfect. hope this helps

Hi girls, I'm baaaaack I'll do my best to answer all questions, so ask away. Our ceremony was at the Beach resort, on the terrace, and the reception was semi-private at the Steakhouse, followed by private rental of the Disco. At the end of our stay we moved over to the Grand for a few days, which was amazing! We also had a bonfire w/ appetizers for our welcome party. We used Tai Flora for flowers/ centerpieces (cost under $500 for my bouquet, corsages, bouts, 4 centerpieces, no bridesmaids bouquets), Rashel for makeup/hair, and Marcia Roberts for photography. So I can answer any questions relating to those things. I don't have pro pics from Marcia yet, but here are a few teasers from our guests.

Thanks girls! It's coming together, all my random errands and chores are done, all that remains is packing. I can totally pack in 12 hours! Here are my girls' bouquets, I got up at 6 this morning and made them I have so many pictures that I've been taking along the way with the planning thread in mind, it's too bad I won't get to do it until after we get back.

Oh my goodness, I'm leaving in about 24 hours, and haven't packed a single thing into my suitcase, I'm still putting together the welcome packages, and I still have two bridesmaids bouquets to make! A word of advice - don't procrastinate as the day nears. There's a million things to do, even though I've tried to keep things simple. But, no matter what happens, as long as I have my passport, my dress and my man, all will be well I really really wanted to do a planning thread, but at this point I have to give up on that idea. I'll do it after we return, better late than never. I'll be back Nov 26, and will report back with pictures and info for sure! Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
