  1. You look amazing in this dress! It was also on my list to try on, but I never did find it anywhere. Congrats, you looks beautiful, the sample fits you amazingly.

  3. Oh, you can totally wear a real flower! Just let you wedding coordinator know ahead of time. At my resort, it's on the list of extras, it's a Dendrobium orchid for $2. I'm sure I can get another type of flower if I want to, but I haven't decided what I want yet.

I'll go stalk you now to see if you ever posted pics Don't you just LOVE Wtoo dresses? They're so well made, unique and flattering. When I started out I was all like "I wanna be a Maggie bride!" and now it's the furthest thing from my mind. I'm having such a tough time deciding, I love them both so much! Most people pick the Dulconee, but I love the Desdemona just as much, I almost want to pick it just so I can stick up for the underdog
  5. Hmmm interesting, I've never heard of that. As I was reading, I was thinking "wow, that's a lot of frivolous things to spend money on, flowers to the room and champagne." But getting the cash sounds a lot more practical. However, I'm not sure I like the idea of people thinking they're getting us an actual "thing" when they're not. What if they ask how the massage was? lol But I can see how this might be nice for a destination wedding, I'll think about it. thanks
  6. I'm not sure how to handle the topic of gifts for our wedding. My fiance has a large family, but not many people will be coming to our actual wedding in Jamaica. We're not planning to do an AHR (I'm not planning on it at all, but we might have to do something small if our parents insist on it later). We're pretty much telling people who ask that we're not expecting gifts, since they're going to be paying for their vacation to attend our wedding. I realize that some people will want to give a gift anyway. In general, what are you guys doing? Would it be in bad taste to register, or should we do it because people will be expecting it? I will have a shower - maybe we should register for that? I just don't want it to look like we're expecting gifts, either from people who are coming, or people who aren't.

Oh, the Jai dress is nothing like the Desdemona, it just happens to have some generic beading on it. And yes, it's mostly out because it's happened to me so many times that I THOUGHT I liked a dress, until I came home and looked at the pictures of my trial. Also, I really really liked the service at the store that sold the WTOO dresses. I wish I could try them on all side by side, but the other store doesn't carry Jai.
  8. This isn't really mine, but it's one that I'm considering getting. I think it's so pretty! The only thing is, I think I would prefer real flowers. Etsy seller AmieNoelDesigns

If it isn't available I'll have to push out the date to December or January, but I'd really love to be married before the holidays! I booked my date around Christmas, and at the time I had asked for any Tues/Wed/Thurs in the 2nd or 3rd week of November. Only 2 Wednesdays were available out of those, so I'm assuming that November may be all booked up by now - but you never know, there may also be cancellations. She replied to me within 2-3 days, which is reasonable I think. We can't expect her to reply within 3 hours when she has 360 brides planning weddings at a time, plus the brides she has on the resort every day. Hey, if you get Nov 14, we'll be there at the same time!
  10. I went with my mom today, to a WTOO trunk show, expecting to show her both dresses at the same time and get her opinion. They didn't have ANY of the dresses I wanted (I had a few more WTOO's that I would've loved to try on). I ended up trying a Jai (Alfred Sung) dress that I've had my eye on, but couldn't find it until now. I did love it on, but they wouldn't allow pictures, so that's sort of a dealbreaker for me. I really can't think objectively if I don't have pics. Anyone else the same way? Here's the stock pic. Quote: Originally Posted by sascolo I have to agree that both look great but #2 is best. I found Maggie Sotteros too bulky and uncomfortable in general.

I JUST found #2 yesterday, so it's kind of new, I'm still wrapping my head around it. It feels like I'm cheating on #1 a bit. As for my fiance - he's seen all my dress pics and he loves them both. He was encouraging me to get #1 before, even though I was holding back because it was out of my price range. But the boutique I went to last night - both dresses are about the same price, and totally within my budget! Stupid other store had the same dress for $300 more! And the service was amazing too at the last store.
  12. I've had such a tough time dress shopping, but now I have two top choices and I just can't decide! They're both WTOO (love their dresses!), the one with the little flowers is Desdemona and the frilly one is Dulconee. Desdemona was my first love, and the day I went to try it on a second time, I got the best associate EVER. I tried on like 15 more dresses, and had the best time with my girlfriends. The very last dress, the Dulconee, she took off the mannequin in the store window. It was going to be the last dress I tried on, I had no idea I would fall in love! What do you guys think? I asked another board, and they were tied 15-15
  13. Check the website of the designer for local stores that carry their designs, and call them to ask if they have the particular ones you're looking for. Or, print those two pictures, and wherever you go ask them to show you similar styles. IMO you really really do need to try a dress on. I've tried about a hundred (who can keep count after the first 10?), and there were so many that I really really loved in the picture, but not on me. I went to lots of boutiques that carry the Enzoani Blue line, give it a try in your area.
  14. Really? When I tried it on I loved it and was close to buying it, but once I thought about it and looked at the pictures, I think it looks terribly boring and old-fashioned. I hate it now. It's so weird how that happens. I also posted on another board asking for opinions, and there was not one positive comment. Right now my top choice is the last one I posted, or the Desdemona from a few pages back. Trying to decide between those two, it's tough!
  15. I really enjoy this thread, so I'll bump it by adding a few more. These are all ones I didn't consider, so be warned that they may not all be flattering on me. San Patrick - Coimbra. The very first dress I tried on. Ella 5459 Mikaella 1565 Watters -Cabo Enzoani blue - Davis WTOO Dulconee (One of my top two - need to decide between this and the Desdemona - a few pages back)
  16. CONGRATS! And diamond white IS the right choice So excited that we're resort twins - it's been awesome meeting so many Rose Hall Suites and Montego Bay brides online. Hopefully we can help each other out with the rest of the planning.
  17. Very pretty - I tried on the original version of it in store. FYI, it's Ella 5500. Make sure to let us know how you like it when it arrives, and maybe post in the knock-offs thread to help out anyone else who's thinking of ordering from there.
  18. I think the type of material is very important for the train. Organza would be best - it doesn't pick up sand as much, and if it does get wet and sandy, you can just brush it off once it dries. Something like satin would be a pain in the butt - think how much water it would soak up, and the sand would really stick. I'm not sure what to think of lace, I guess it would depend. Something to think about.
  19. That Allure style is on my list to try, and I'm so happy to see someone else in it. It looks amazing on you, it gets my vote. I hope I can find one to try on. The Maggie looks pretty as well, but I don't think satin and sand mix well. The Alfred Angelo is my least favourite.
  20. If that's a consideration, take a look at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach or Suites. They're fairly large, but only do one wedding a day.
  21. I'd love to see an entire album of a wedding photographed by Digipix. I'm trying to decide if I really need to go with an outside photographer, or if I can make do with Digipix. I would appreciate if any past brides could share. thanks!
  22. This one is on my list to try as well. I tried the Ella 5500, which I loved in the picture. But it was waaaay too big on me, so I think the proportions were way off - the bust part in particular. I couldn't imagine what it would look like in my size. I'd love to try on yours as well if I can find it.
  23. The one I love but is out of my price range is the WTOO Desdemona. I will have to call some more stores and see if anyone has it for less.
  24. Very pretty dress! I totally know what you mean about not having "the moment." There are many very pretty dresses, but I just don't feel like saying "this is IT." The one that I was the most sure about is slightly out of my price range, and I still have lots of time so I'll keep looking. I'm really hoping that when I find the one, I will just know. I just feel that if I'm spending that much, then I should feel very very strongly that I really really love it I'm indecisive in general, so that doesn't help. I think it sounds like you have your dress though, you're just a bit scared to commit. Let us know what you decide!
