  1. I've learned MANY MANY things, but the most important: Do what you and your fiance want. Your wedding is about the two of you, and while families are important, they have way to many overbearing opinions... Be accomodating, but make sure that it will make you happy too. People will say there are coming, but life happens, and many won't be able to because of finances, or just bc they lied in the first place! Not everyone will support your decision to have a DW but if it's what you want, DO IT! You will definitely learn that during your planning process who you can count on - for me, it's been my fiance! Photography is one of the most important things to have on your wedding day! You have to be willing to give up some control of your wedding bc you're planning from a different location. Having a travel agent is awesome! Look for inspiration online and in the forum! And take your photo's with you to your destination! I'm not buying real flowers for decor, only for my bouquet & his bout, I can't keep them, so I'm not paying for them! The happiest day of my life will be between my fiance & I! No stress, no unwanted opinions, just us!
  2. I asked people to RSVP 2 months before the wedding date. But we asked for a informal RSVP about 6 months before... But we had 20 people say yes 6 months beforehand and 2 months before, nobody had made any reservations, so we told them that we'd just be going alone. But I think 2-3 months before your date is good for an official RSVP, which I would say means that they have made their reservations. I'd say 5-6 months before to get an idea of who'll be there for planning and budget purposes.
  3. Yeah, I definitely didn't cry when I found my dress, but I just had an amazing feeling that it was the one. I already knew that I wanted my dress to be long and flowy, and I knew I wanted a corset. So I think you first need to think about what it is that you really like about your favorite dresses. Is it the color, the shape, is it what you imagined yourself wearing? And, think about what your budget is, if something is totally above your budget, eliminate it if it has equal potential as the others. Just make sure that you feel beautiful in the dress!
  4. A sew in can definitely work as long as its not a full sew in. If you have them leave all of your edges out then it'll be fine for a bun. I'm doing a side ponytail with loose curls and that's what I'm doing to do. You could have tracks glued in, but if you plan to get in the water while your there, don't count on it holding up for a long time. I don't know anything about the clips, so can't really help you with that!
  5. I hadn't even thought about this... I guess that's more makeup I need to buy!
  6. There are so many, but my coordinator is Andrea, her email address is [email protected] But if you go on the Royal's wedding website and fill out the contact us link, you can fill it in and they'll contact you.
  7. Your photo's are absolutely gorgeous!!! I absolutely have some questions to ask you if thats okay???
  8. I believe my flight does have closets, but I'm being prepared for if they say no they can't hang it there. I just purchased a cloth garment bag and if I have to put it in the overhead bin, I'll just wait until everyone has already put their luggage up and lay it on top of my things or in an empty overhead bin.
  9. I think you will be fine. My carry on wasn't the exact dimensions that were listed but as long as the combined dimensions were equal or less than it would be fine. So your total dimensions are equal to the airlines, I think it will work out just fine.
  10. Yeah, my flight time has been changed about 8 times since we booked. But it's the only direct flight to Cancun that day so I doubt they'll cancel it. They'd better not!
  11. I'm definitely doing a hair flower instead of a veil... At first I wanted a cathedral veil but when I tried it on with my dress & the way I want my hair styled, it seemed better to go with the flower. I already have all my jewelry, which is pretty simple because my dress has lots of swarovski crystals. I;m almost ready, I still have a ton to do! I only have 45 days left!
  12. I'm sorry you have to postpone your wedding... Maybe you should consider if it's because he doesn't have a job right now, or if you don't think you'll be financially stable in the long run? Maybe it could help to take some premarital classes and specifically focus on finances. My fiance & I didn't take classes with a minister, but I found my own material in books & online and we discussed a lot of different things about finances. It definitely helped us a lot because at a point of time, I wasn't sure if he was very good at money management. But, what I realized is that he'd never had to talk about or sit down with a budget in front of him. So now, even without myself working, we've still been doing very well sticking to our budget and saving. It just takes some communication and compromise. If your just postponing because he's not working right now & you can't afford it, well that's something a lot of people have to deal with these days. I'd say the only thing you can do is be patient, encourage him, and maybe help him in his job search. You guys can do it when you both feel your ready. Good luck!
  13. Try department stores... My fiance got his from Von Maur, but he tried them on at Macy's, JCPenney, and Men's Warehouse. You could also try studiosuits.com. They're inexpensive too if you don't have a problem ordering online.
  14. I thought about using a picture frame but my fiance didn't like the idea. I found some really nice one's though on etsy.com. They were between $45-65 too...
  15. I paid for my dress, my fiance and I are paying for all our wedding expenses... Unfortunately, our families are not very supportive of our choice to have a destination wedding, so my mom wouldn't even tag along to come watch me try on dresses.
