Congrats to all those leaving soon! We leave on the 14th and I've been off this week with the flu, this is the worst possible time to get sick!!! I just started feeling better andstarted packing today, I've got one whole suitcase filled with OOT bags, wedding decor and accessories. I've got half a carry on filled with the rest of the breakable stuff. I also picked up my wedding dress today, our spare bedroom is filled with wedding stuff and suitcases, it really feels real now!

Hi I'm having my wedding in another part of Costa Rica. I'm not sure what your budget is, I remember when I was deciding on a location the Tamarindo Diria hotel had some nice looking weddings. My advice is to try to look up some wedding photographs from the area and look up some of the hotels on Trip Advisor and start emailing them. Trip Advisor also has a comprehensive list of restaurants for the area, you could try calling them or emailing them to find out what they can do. There are some nice sit down restaurants in Tamarindo. Sorry I can't offer any more help.

I work in the business, so also just to add, make sure to remind you guests that their passports might have to be valid for a certain amount of time past their date of travel. Some people don't realize that they need to be valid for up to six months past their date of travel. I always deal with these things through work so it may not be top of mind for everyone else. I sent out a reminder email before Christmas just to remind people to check their passports and their expiry date just to make sure! 23 days to go! And 16 until we leave... I am totally looking forward to spending some time in the sun with sand between my toes!

My wedding is next month and I used Sylvia from Costa Rica Paradise weddings. I found her price a little bit more reasonable than some of the others, although they do great work, I wasn't willing to pay for it.

Hi, I can't really help you out that much... But what I can tell you is there is not a place for wedding planner reviews. I went through the same thing when planning my wedding. I did not end up using Samantha, but I was in contact with her and she seemed really on top of things. Good luck with your planning

I had my last fitting today... Here is the model and me.

I'm at 53 days to go now. I'm tackling all my wedding related stuff today, I transferred money to my wedding planner, I had a skype call with my wedding photographer to coordinate, started on my escort cards got my garter, and I just came back from my last fitting today. I think I"m going to start my seating arrangements and at some point I should probably start cooking dinner... Here's the pic of my wedding dress, they did a great job with all the alterations.

I'm starting my second attempt at Insanity, I started it in June but I stopped after a month. I've been doing hot yoga, which is awesome I've lost a few pounds and toned up. Its also great for stress. So I want to tone up a bit more and will be attempting Insanity again, hopefully Christmas doesn't sabotage my weight loss goals!!!

Mocha I bolded part of your quote. This is so true, and the reason why my FI and I will TTC right away. We are both over 30, so time is not on our side. It took me a long time to come to this decision because I was worried about losing out on those experiences, traveling, moving forward in my career. Some people in my life that are struggling with fertitlity issues, gave me some great advice... your job and those places will always be there... start now because if somethings wrong then you still have time to resolve the issue. I would recommend to anyone considering TTC to check out the Fertility friend website and read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. That book was an eye opener, all my life I've been told that you can get knocked up at any time. Its so not true!

Thanks for the jewelry links ladies, I found some great stuff on overstock.com. I got both my earrings, and my bridesmaids gifts. Like everyone else, I'm waiting on my final numbers to finish the rest of the details. I can't believe the day is coming up so quickly!

Where will you be getting married? You can try asking the venue or the caterer's who other people use. Most of the big florists are based in San Jose, I have some info for those ones.

Just checked and 88 days to go 80 until we leave! Has anyone started thinking about seating arrangements... I'm not going to have assigned seating but I will have assigned tables. I'm debating on doing just a seating chart or escort cards. I've seen some good ideas for both but the thought of transporting something large has me leaning towards escort cards. What is everyone else doing?

Hey guys, I had to take some time away from anything wedding related cause that magic number of 100 days got me all freaked out. I just caught up on thread. It's crazy how time flies! I have my first dress fitting next week. I still have no idea what's going on with my Bridemaids. I don't know what she will be wearing, one dropped out and the other is planning her own wedding. Every other major detail has been taken care of, now just have to wait for the RSVP's to come in.

I can't believe it! I looked at the calender, with Christmas and New Years it looks like about 3 months to do stuff!!! I'm starting to stress out majorly. However one of the things that is good but not at the same time is all those people that said they'd come have dropped out. I wish they would come but money and babies have got in the way! I just got a work up of my centerpieces, I'm going to have different ones on all the tables. Here's a pic, the smaller vases will be on a different table.

Hi Cafuts01, give some good advice. I'm getting married in Manuel Antonio and my fiancee is from Costa Rica. So we had a bit of an idea of what we were getting into. In Costa Rica they definitely work on their own time line, we call it Tico time. However that being said, my wedding planner always has everything done, I'm 5 months away from my wedding and I'm on schedule and on budget. Costa Rica is not like Cuba, Dominican Republic or Mexico where you can get all inclusive packages for everyone. Room rates can be negotiated if you have a block of rooms reserved. Also it helps that my wedding planners sister company is a travel agency and they have been helping guests plan their trip who are unsure of what to do. Also wedding planners are paid to look after your interests, the hotel planner looks for their interest. If you want things a certain way the wedding planner will make it happen. You and your guests will have to have a little bit of a sense of adventure when planning a wedding there. To give you an idea, I would say I've been very frugal with our wedding, we are still having decent decor, food and photography and videography and we will be paying approximately $20 000 with our travel more or less. Some things there cost the same as back home, so you won't find some of the great deals on your wedding. Costa Rica is an amazing place and your wedding there will be amazing. Good luck!

My FI saw this on the Bachelorette while I was watching it and has been bugging me to get in touch with my wedding planner to find out if we can do this in Costa Rica, its such a great idea, I hope we can do it.
