  1. Where are you going to have the bride and groom sit, with the I-shaped table? Do they sit in the middle, or at one of the ends? I think we're going to go with an I-shape too...
  2. Ohmygod those photos were so amazing! I love how the slideshow takes us through the story of your magical day, with all the emotions and celebrating among friends and family that the day brings. I'm so excited to have Del Sol do our wedding too! Congratulations - your wedding and TTD were so beautiful!
  3. Congratulations on the wedding Tweets! So happy for you that everything turned out great! We're going to Le Reve to meet with Arlenis in July. So excited! Thanks for helping me do my research.
  4. Ooh I love this circle arrangement! I think this is a great way to do it. We'll have about 25 guests, and I think it would be lovely to have everyone standing in a circle. I hope it's not a problem on a hot day in Playa del Carmen. We're going to make sure the ceremony isn't too long - i don't want folks passing out on the beach. Heehee. Hi Matt, thanks for the lovely slide show. After spending many hours on the Del Sol website, we're going to go with a guests-wearing-white theme and the standing circle arrangement. We're so excited to have you photograph our wedding!
  5. I'd never thought about getting weather insurance. But now I'm going to look into it. Thank you so much!
  6. Hi everyone! I just found this thread. I'm getting married on Sept 11 at Le Reve Hotel in Playa del Carmen. Yay! Our wedding colors are white and light green. We're doing a site visit to work out all the details, pick the menu, see the florist, do a make-up/hair test, etc., on 4th of July weekend. We were too too busy to go down there beforehand. But this forum (especially a few members who corresponded with me) was super helpful, and I love this website! Yay BDW! I have my first fitting a couple of weeks after we get back from Mexico. Yikes. I hope it goes all right. My biggest concern is that the wedding is going to be in Mexico in September, so the weather will be hot; yet my dress is made of rather heavy material. The dress looks lovely, but I'm worried that I'll cook inside of it... I'll post a photo of the dress once it arrives. We have about 25 guests coming (so far). I think that's how many have booked their rooms. And I'm very glad that Le Reve lets you bring a dog - so our doggie is coming!
  7. Great post Jen. It's comforting to me to hear from someone who considered both La Amada and Le Reve, and went with Le Reve. I was excited to read the all-inclusive option for Le Reve, but then I saw that you have to book all the rooms for 3 days, and I just can't commit to that with our guests. (Sigh). About Le Reve being flexible with things, do you know what they charge for the corkage fee if you bring your own alcohol? When you did your site visit, did you do a tasting - and how'd that go? I'm planning to do a site visit in a couple of months (probably 3 months before the wedding - it's the most convenient time for us), and i want to get the most out of it. It's so exciting that you'll be getting married at Le Reve soon!
  8. That would be wonderful! thanks! I really want to know what the all-inclusive package is, and the alcohol policy. Good luck with your planning too! I also would like to see the menu and prices for Naay. Another huge huge reason I love Le Reve is -- they let me bring my little doggie! woohoo! I think my dog will love being part of the beach wedding!
  9. wow, these photos are so great! I think I want to have our wedding at Le Reve too - and your threads have been the biggest influence! I just love how all the photos look, and I'm so impressed with what I've read about the place. Ayita, you said that "We will be getting our champagne, wine and liquors from La Europea, in Cancun. They have very competitive prices, and they take back the unopened bottles." Does that mean Le Reve allows you to bring your own liquor to the reception? Do they allow that (and charge a per person per hour uncorking fee)? I'm a little concerned that all the costs and extras are driving the total budget up...
  10. Hi guys! I'm excited to have a destination wedding, and I'm just torn at the moment between two hotels that really appeal to me - Le Reve Hotel & Spa and La Amada. I've had some initial communications with the hotels' wedding coordinators; and I've also spent a good amount of time researching the posts on this forum regarding those places. They both seem super lovely, but at the moment, I'm leaning toward Le Reve. I just love the idea of having such a small boutique hotel to ourselves or mostly to ourselves (I'll probably have about 35 guests). But, when it comes down to it, it seems that a wedding at Le Reve would end up costing quite a bit of more. I saw that you can bring your own alcohol to La Amada (with a $4 per hour per person uncorking fee)... At Le Reve the costs just seem to add up so quickly... Can anyone chime in on the costs at Le Reve? How much can a guest expect to spend (aside from lodging) for a 2 night visit there? thanks!
