  1. That's so sad. It sounds like an accident (one newspaper said potentially natural gas methane built up from a nearby swamp). My sympathies go out to the families.
  2. I think I have reassured most of my worriers, by sending them the government links. It really is to bad that things are so out of control in the border area, and that people can be so small minded to associate one area with violence to equate the entire country being violent.
  3. Has anyone experienced the new photographers at the Barcelo yet? On that note, what seems to be their policy now for bringing outside photographers? I seems to change everytime I read something.
  4. I concur with those that said it depends on how long you are staying. For 2 or 3 days, I think it would be cheaper to go non all inclusive. Most of our people are staying for the full week though, so it will be worth it.
  5. Has anyone gone recently? What does the policy seem to be now that they have a new photographer?
  6. Sounds lovely. I hope you revisit this thread and post some replies, we all have the same questions! =D
  7. You all look lovely! These dresses look so much better with curves in them, instead of stick thin models. Can't wait for my dress to get in. Yay!
  8. You just made my wedding! What song? The Luke and Leia theme? Haha. I was thinking of doing that, yay girl nerds. I also really love the Gerudo Valley Theme song from the Legend of Zelda. I think it would be a fun walking out song. A good friend of mine hired a violin player to play the theme song for Serenity/Firefly. It really was beautiful.
  9. Depends where outdoors, any buildings nearby that you could project on?
  10. I'm going to invite everyone I think. Or else your immediate family will miss out!
  11. I would definately like to do a backyard sort of BBQ idea. Unforunately our yard is quite small, and our families don't live here. We might end up moving it to a park where there is more room. Same idea though! I like the idea of the slide show.
  12. Are you having a formal reception? Or more of a casual event? If it's casual, having mexican appetizers, or make your own Fajitas would be fun. If there is a Mariachi band in your city that would be great! I can also see a pinata being a hit with kids.
  13. Lovely! Glad it seems like there are a few around that have it.
  14. January 2012 at the Barcelo Maya Palace for me, we have 11 booked. When you ladies get back I'd love to here all about it! (Or if you have any good info now!).
  15. I kind of assumed that if people were coming, they would know ahead of time because of taking vacation time etc. That's not fun, I hope mine are better! Lol.
  16. Hello Ladies, Initially I designed a boarding pass style invite - thinking that it would be the STD. As I worked on it, the more I liked it. This made me wonder if I needed to send two seperate invites out if I had the wedding details by the time it came to send it out. I would certainly send out an brochure type notice about a month before with any sort of itinery and details plus the website and emails would keep them updated. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
  17. Ah just hit submit and thought of another question. What paper did you print your boarding passes on? Did you print those ones at Kinko's as well?
  18. Wow, you're amazing. I was worried about how much time the boarding pass invites would take. Lol.
  19. They look amazing! What did you do for making the envelopes? Also, while i'm asking questions What type of paper did you print them on?
  20. I'm getting excited! I still have a year to go, but I want make them already! Let's hope my assumptions for how many people are right. I did get started a bit. I ordered my dress from Netbride.com. When you order from them you get a 120 credit towards and veil and 50 towards shoes. Im not using a veil and none of the shoes really suited what I wanted, so I was able to use that credit towards wedding accessories. So I got wine and bottle openers (beach themed) for the OOT bags (since when we were in Mexico, we wanted them for our rooms!) and personalized lip balms. http://www.myweddingfavors.com/lovekisses-personalized-lip-balm-stick.html http://www.myweddingfavors.com/shell-opener.html http://www.myweddingfavors.com/beach-themed-starfish-wine-opener.html I probably would't have spent as much on this sort of stuff normally, but it was free (not to mention my dress was $200 cheaper to start with)!
