I've already spent hours on etsy! My MIL has said she has a an "heirloom" type jewellery set if I was interested. She has pretty good taste so I'm interested to look at it!

So many dresses! All so lovely. Even if i wasn't having a destination wedding, I would of had a dress similar to this one. It's just much more my style. I can't wait for it to come in, I love it!

Most bridal shops have alot of different dresses with multiple colours available. Might be a good place to go get some ideas!

That is sad. As you said, I know their are worse things in the world - but when you dream of this day and this dress for so long, you couldn't help but be choked about it! I'm glad they're trying their best to make it right.

Great thread, I agree! So far I've designed the invites, and now that I have confirmation of the date and time I can hopefully put them together over the holidays while I'm home (so the crafty people can help me!). When I ordered my dress, I got a credit for a wedding favour website, but since I had to put them in at the same time I did order some favours preemptively. I'm assuming there will be about 30 people, and if not I can sell (or give away to people that couldn't make it) some of the extra things. Research is key I think. The biggest research thing for me was the resort. Vista print stuff is also a good idea. They had a "25 free magnet" coupon the other day, so I ordered those. I'll probably need more, but now the next time the free magnet thing comes up, I already have 25 . Otherwise research and inspiration, so as the smart posters above me said - when the time comes to make these decisions, they're a painless as possible.

When we announced our engagement and destination wedding my dad promptly transferred us $5000 to make sure we could pay for our trip. When I picked out a wedding dress my mom volunteered to pay. My FI family hasn't mentioned anything yet, which surprises me. But we're just planning things as if we're paying, and if they want to contribute then hooray!

I don't have a photo of me in mine yet either, I also ordered it from netbride. I'm so excited for it to come in!

My fiance and I have a deal. I keep procrastinating to finish my master's thesis, and he says the day I finish he'll call and make the appointment for me as my finishing gift! He had it a few years ago, and thinks its the greatest thing ever
