  1. I know that feeling! I was having second thoughts about my dress too. I've been looking online and Kijiji-ing to see if I can find a cheap second dress to at least wear for my TTD so I can have something a little different. There is actually a lot out there! JayKay - I think you were the one asking me about the Nina shoes? I got them today - the COD for customs and brokerage was about $8.00. The band and flowers are actually a satin material, a lot nicer than they even looked on the website! I took a crappy cell phone picture for you! My only complaint is that my feet are really small, so while a 6 fits me length wide, the band is a bit loose. I'm going to have to see if I can glue or clip it down somehow. Still walkable, just a little loose for my tastes. If you have normal size feet you likely wouldn't have that problem.
  2. I would do a google search and see if anything catches your eye, then refine it! I searched bouquet roses, then click on the blue (there is also a teal) colour filter on the side. I love the colour filter for wedding stuff! This took me all of 4 minutes to do, so hopefully it helps you get some ideas! (Personally,I like the 3rd and last bouquets the best )
  3. So cute! Thats what I initially wanted if we were getting married in Canada, native flowers and sunflowers and such. I figured I'd go tropical since I was getting married tropical. I still love them though
  4. Congrats on finishing JayKay! I had hoped to be done school by then to, this moving business has slowed me down! I just got my order from Oriental Trading in, so I think I'm all ready to put everything together now. Kya - I fully understand the panic mode! One day you realize your wedding is less than 2 months away, and panic sets in.
  5. Me now! I get to join your thread.
  6. Thanks Ladies. I think I needed to hear it from a few other people to believe it. I do wish I could go try it on to re-assure myself. It'll just have to wait!
  7. I ended up buying them from Shoebuy.com. They are available on a bunch of different sites, so I calculated them all to see which would be less with shipping to Canada. Canada post has their handy quote thingy, and also found this one was the cheapest. I found a coupon for 20% off, so it ended up being about $50 shipped, hopefully not much for duty (I'm expecting no more than $10?) They had all kind of colours! Purple, yellow, blue, white - http://ninashoes.com/hilaria-ivory--14204?gclid=CM6D1cSts6wCFYbrKgodinIXIw There was a similar style that came in white, blush and grey with slightly different rosettes. http://ninashoes.com/hella-blush-royal-satin--15335 I can let you know what my total is when I get them in! I figured after all my seaching, its worth it!
  8. Here is my dress. It really is what I wanted, fitted top, skirt for frolicking, nice and simple without all of the gems and crystals.... and yet. Gah!
  9. Hey Ladies, My wedding is two months away now, and I find I'm waning on my dress. I tried on a ton of dresses, and I was flipping through all of the pictures, and my dress is still my favourite by far! I went for a fitting, and two of my BM's (my sister and my best friend) and my mom came with me. They all live out of town, so hadn't been to see my dress or anything yet. They were all looking for dresses too, and especially my mom was feeling kind of stressed about it, feeling self conscious about her body. Anyways, I came out in my dress, it had been altered so it actually fit this time and...nothing. It was very anti-climatic, I was disappointed. The only person who even seemed to notice was my Nana, who took a picture (and I think shows it to everyone she sees now). These aren't usually selfish or self absorbed people, although I know they were all trying on dresses too, but I feel like there should have been some reaction. Two of them are super prone to crying during events like this, and like I said, nothing! Is it my dress? Am I reading to much into this? I didn't think it bothered me (this was about 2 months ago). Now I've moved to Alberta (and my dress is still in Manitoba) so I can't even go try it on and see how I feel, and I've probably spent a few hours on Kijiji looking at wedding dresses for sale in my area. I can't afford to go get a brand new one (since we just moved, bought a new house, I'm not working yet, trying to finish school etc.). One of my bridesmaids is being super helpful, and we're plotting a new flower and such for the dress - but I am just not feeling it. I hope it's just a fleeting moment of dress doubt. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks for listening!
  10. I was having the same dilemma. After hours and hours and months of searching, I decided to get these Nina Hilaria shoes. They come in a bunch of colours, and they seemed a little fancier that regular flip flops. The only bad part is that my dress is already hemmed, and I had it hemmed for just regular flip flops. I hope it doesn't look weird in the front!
  11. All of those sites are great, just filter by colour. I did the same for green. Nina shoes has blue as their colour of the month. - http://ninashoes.com/ Nordstrom also had lots of shoes.
  12. They are fun, and great for New Year's/Halloween parties too. Cheap booze, and silent auctions - and the grand prize is usually something worth quite a bit! Last one i went to before I moved I won a $400 Norwex cleaning basket. Alberta is going good. We ended up buying a house in Leduc (where the Airport is, as my FI works there). Seems like a nice little town! I need to find some friends though, I've just been moving and locked in my office doing my thesis, it's getting lonely. Thank god for the internet so I can keep in touch with my friends from Winnipeg. Also - I'm getting married in 2 months today. Aaaaack! I had an ordering party and got a bunch of stuff from Vista Print, I ordered my shoes, cake topper, OOT bags, mugs, lanyards and started some of the DIY stuff. Once all that comes in, I can make a pile and see what I have! I ordered Nina Hilaria shoes (after an epic quest for cute green shoes I could actually wear on the beach, since our ceremony and reception are both on sand, I had to forgo the pretty heels). I ordered my cake toppers I think that's all! Eek, going to be a busy two months.
  13. I've lived a couple places in Canada, and They really are a Manitoba/Northern Ontario thing! Here in Alberta, no one has social! It's so weird!
  14. I'm selling my hairflower if anyone is interested - http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/76684/kristi-bonnici-couture-hairflower I believe I posted it earlier up in this thread. I won this hair flower (Retail value $345) but still ended up paying close to $100 between shipping/brokerage/customs. It's a gorgeous flower, its a bit to formal for the look Im going for though now, as I changed my dress.
  15. I am selling a Kristi Bonnici original hair flower that I'm no longer using,as I changed my dress and it just doesn't fit the style anymore. Kristi has been featured in The Knot Magazine, Cosmo Bride Magazine, Bride to Be Magazine, OnceWed blog, Complete Bride Magazine (see her facebook page). The Look of Love Camelia haircomb in white http://kristibonnici.com.au/index.php?/milinery/the-look-of-love-camelia-haircomb-/ is for sale. Kristi Bonnici is a Sydney, Australia based fashion designer and milliner, Kristi Bonnici, who in 2010 launched her exquisite range of bridal accessories. Original price is $345.00 plus about $75 in shipping and duty. Willing to sell for $75 plus shipping, however I will accept any reasonable offer - I would just like to see this beautiful hair flower have a good home. Pick-up in Edmonton, Alberta, or if you want to come see it. Will be shipped in the original hat box it came in. Attached are some photos of the hair flower, and some poor attempts to show what it looks like in hair. I am no pro with hair. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kristi-Bonnici-Bridal-Accessories/180872558618910
  16. We did the legal ceremony one year before our real wedding (Jan 12). So our marriage certificate says Jan 12, 2011, and our wedding is Jan 12, 2012. We invited a witness each (and their spouses) and had a little ceremony in our livingroom, took less than 5 minutes, it was nice - but not my wedding - although I did get a little cake, because I love cake. I think most people know we have to do the legal stuff beforehand, anyone who hasn't asked, probably just assumed we'll do what we're supposed to make it legal. Luckily I haven't been asked that question to much!
  17. Just ordered them. I'm just going to print out a design with out names and such. Either take them to stapes to get printed, or just use pretty paper and my inkjet. Will post pics once I get them.
