Thanks Katydid, good to know there are good things being said about Secret Silversands! I will most definitely update you and share pics when I am back! What was Secrets Capri like, we considered that for our honeymoon too xxx -

We fly on the 6th November, get married on the 10th and then on the 13th leave to go to Cancun for a week at Secrets Silversands for our honeymoon. We are planning on going away next year to the caribbean maybe around our first anniversary for a 'proper' honeymoon but thought we might as well have a mini moon and give us time to reflect on the wedding alone while we are out there. I am so excited... we fly 8 weeks today. -

No not stressed at all - yet lol, just really enjoying the experience. Ours is going great too - pretty much everything finalised. Chosen location for ceremony and reception, confirmed decorations, booked alterations appointment for my dress, bought bridesmaid dress, booked in for at home hair trial, finished welcome booklet, booked catamaran and airport transfers - just on countdown now :-) Like you I am so looking forward to some time with our family and friends. Yes I am very excited about the Dreams resorts, I have heard such good things about them. You are at las cabos that is supposed to be lovely too. When do you fly? -

I know time is just flying - how is all your planning going? x -
I will of course let you know how I get on. What was the name of the TC representative you got an email from I may see if I can phone and speak to her/him ;-) Its not far away at all, we fly 8 weeks tomorrow eeek! I went to an early morning boot camp this morning which was murder and as I was running round feeling like I was about to die I kept thinking "8 weeks, 8 weeks!!!"

I know just how you feel, this is my second marriage and I only really have my parents and two old family friends going from my side, the other 17 guests are all from my fi's side. Its hard, I was very young when I got married first time and sometimes it feels like just cos I made a mistake then I am have to pay for it now. I know money comes into it and not everyone can afford it but I think if you really wanted to be there you would. I feel paranoid that cos its my second wedding no one is bothering. I am lucky though because a lot of my fi's friends are now my friends and I get on really well with the girlfriends/wives so thats nice, just not the same as having your own friends there. Hey ho its a risk you take doing a destination wedding!

Hi Selina, I spoke to Thomas Cook and they said that as I have not booked my wedding with them I cannot have the extra luggage allowance so I guess I am stuck with what I have got. I was considering taking it to another level, seems a bit cheeky really - all my party have booked holidays with them - totalling £25k - yet they cant give us some extra luggage allowance! Stupid! I am still going to try and take it on the plane with me I don't see how they can stop me really as long as I have it in the right size case, which I know you can buy online. Don't worry about your dress if you look at all the pictures online very few people actually choose a 'destination' wedding dress and they all look perfectly happy to me!!!! Carrie x

Wow Selina you are very organised. We are getting married on 10th November 2011 at Dreams tulum! Our plans are good only 9 weeks till we fly so have got pretty much most things sorted. Like you, I chose the dress I wanted and didnt go for a 'destination wedding' dress - I guess we will just get hot! I am soo excited and panicking that I will forget something

I too would like to know the answer to this. I personally fully intend to take my dress on the plane with me, I don't see how if it is the right sized box they can stop you taking it on with you. It would terrify me to put it on the plane.... Has anyone else had experience with Thomas Cook flights? Also how did you get around the ridiculously low baggage weight limit? 20k per person is nothing, no idea how I'm going to transport two weeks of clothes and all our wedding stuff on that amount x

Hi girls, I just had to come on and share my delight with you all. My dress came in last week and I went to try it on again today and oh my word I just love it!!! So happy with it, and to make things even better I have lost a stone since I last tried it on and boy you can tell the difference which I am totally delighted about. Feel so much happier and confident in it! It feels incredibly real now - we fly 10 weeks tomorrow and I cannot wait. Now I have only to decide on my hair, I have decided I want some kind of sparkles in my hair - maybe a hair band or a clip. I want to wear my hair half up and I cant make up my mind what would look best? What are you girls doing? Hope you are all good xxx
