  2. Ok, that makes sense! Your bouquet is beautiful! Did you get your bridesmaids bouquets from Dreams too? I'm not sure what to do about that? Whether to bring them, or buy them? I couldn't find prices on those bouquets.
  3. Thank you so much! And thanks for looking for the band too! I really appreciate all your help!
  4. If you are looking for some cool items to put in your OOT bags, Del Sol (items change color in the sun) is having a huge clearance sale online! I ordered 5 totes, 3 t-shirts, 1 frisbee, 2 nail polish gift sets(2 nail polish & flower barrette in each set) and it came to $65. If you are familiar with Del Sol, this is a major price break! Their totes are usually $18, t-shirts $25, and nail polish $10 a piece! Everything changes color in the sun! Their website is www.delsol.com and here is a coupon promo code for $5 off - GIVEME5 I have 3 kids coming to Cancun with us, so I decided to use these items for their OOT bags!
  5. Hello! Looking for a little advice on hair extensions. I have never bought or used them before. My hair is about an inch and a half to two inches above my shoulder, but shorter in the back and I wanted to have an up-do done for the wedding. I contacted the salon at the resort today, and the lady said they can definatley do an up-do, but suggested I get hair extensions just in case. I know I should look for human hair, but, I dont want the ones that glue into my hair. OH, and I am asian, so, should I get the real asian human hair? Or is regular human hair ok? I also wanted to get my hair highlighted for the wedding, my hair is a very dark brown, and I was going to get caramel highlights. So, should I buy both dark brown & caramel extensions? Or should I not get highlights? Or do they make ones that have highlights!? And, does anyone know a good, reputable website to order from? I really don't know anything when it comes to extensions! I just know I need to get them! Thanks!!!
  6. Hi Girls - Just thought I would share a website I found that has pretty nice favors & such at great prices. Its www.favorwarehouse.com .
  7. Does anyone happen to have any correspondance from the wedding coordinators on which bouquets are included in the ultimate package? Claudia emailed me the VIP bouquets which are very pricey, but, I'm curious what the ones already included look like. Between the cost & tax on the VIP, I'm contimplating on looking at external vendors. If anyone has any info, can you please pm me? Thanks!!!
  8. Lyndsay - where did you get the guest room list brochure with the Dreams logo? Did you make them yourself, or did you contact the hotel? I really like that idea too!
  9. Nevermind....I couldn't find any wedding dresses on this site
  10. Here is another site someone else suggested www.ideeli.com I haven't checked it out yet, but they said it has designer dresses at incredible prices
  11. Thank you girls so much for your opinions!!! I think I am leaning towards #2, but I will let you all know what it comes down too! Thanks again!!!
  12. I am at a loss! I have 3 dresses in mind that I absolutley love!!! Please give me opinions!!!
  13. I found this wedding dress on www.inweddingdress.com - does anyone know what designer this may be a replica of? Or if anyone has had any experience with them? I have read some reviews, and most sound pretty good....
  14. I am searching for my dress also. I came across a site called www.inweddingdress.com . And basically it is replicas of designer dresses. I have read alot of blogs saying to stay away from these sites. But I have done my research and this site in particular has some pretty good reviews. The shipping time is approx 5 weeks though, but I think you can upgrade to rush shipping. But, check it out, they have a section of beach wedding gowns and alot are very similar to what you are looking for.
  15. Wow!!! That all sounds wonderful!!! I'm definatley going to look into those little love shacks!
  16. Hi! I may be wrong, but I think that his packages start at $1200. I assumed, and maybe I shouldnt, that the photography included in the ultimate, is that first package he offers for the ceremony. You can email him through his website. I did awhile ago, and he responded that same day.
  17. My rule of thumb is "you treat others how you want to be treated" - The ball is in your court, you could royally mess her day up bad! Funny she doesn't even realize that! I understand you don't want tension between the brothers, I'm kinda in that position too, You could always wait till you are all at a family function and accidentally have one too many drinks and "accidentally" spill the beans!
  18. Hahaha! I should have said something about the pirate hijackings! This may be weird to say, but it's nice knowing there are other people going through the same thing as me. Not that I want anyone to be slighted or ridiculed but I started to feel crazy, or like maybe I was wrong and just convinced myself otherwise! Ugh! Just so frustrating! You can never make everyone happy. And we even contimplated on getting married at home first, that lasted 3 weeks of planning till I said FORGET IT! Once again, when we thought about a wedding at home, we had people (family) putting their two cents in. Regardless of what we do, we seem to be wrong, but we ARE doing what we want to do for our wedding! And damnit, we are getting married in Mexico!
  19. I can sympathize with you in this situation...My future SIL (FI's brother's wife) caused me so much grief when we originally booked Cancun, of course all behind my back though. She was running her mouth saying the all the same things and that the Mexicans are going to try to steal her son! But, it all got back to me...so I sent her an email just explaining to do her research, and she would find that all these terrible things are happening in OTHER parts of Mexico. We will be at a private resort, and just don't go wandering if you don't feel comfortable. And I put it all into very nice, concerned words. Soooo, she decided to take my email and forward it to ALL my future in-laws! Majority sided with me, (not that they feel its safe still) but it was nice of me to take it upon myself and nicely resolve a situation without making it into a situation. All but my future MIL! She freaked to begin with, but ever since that stupid email, she just doesn't speak to me now. And if she does, its all about how wonderful my future SIL is. My future BIL & her got married on a cruise. I've been on cruises. What I can't understand is why is it safer to get off at a port, go where ever you want to go in an unknown counrty without the cruise ship even knowing where you may be, safer than going to a private resort in Mexico??? I just don't get it...Aren't in-laws just wonderful!
  20. Hi! I am getting married at Dreams Cancun April 2011. I have been googling reggae or steel drum bands for hire for our reception (resort offers one but very pricey!). Does anyone know of any reasonably priced? I am not having any luck looking online.
  21. I have my wedding planned in Cancun for April 2011. When we sent out our invites, we unfortunatly got alot of negative feedback from our friends & family because "Mexico is dangerous". Out of 60 people, we have 14 booked, and majority of the ones not going, are the people that fear we are putting their lives in danger. First it was a toss up between Jamaica & Mexico, and before we were dead set on Cancun, about 40 of the 60 people were definatly going. My future MIL litteraly had a panic attack in my house when we told her that we narrowed it down to Cancun and she had to leave our house. My future sister in law, I was told she was running her mouth about it, so I talked to her about it and let her know my intake on Cancun, and before we knew it, she will not let my fiance's own brother go. Its a shame how people react, grouping parts of Mexico into one lump. Yes, it is another country, but I have been to the Bahamas and seen the bad bad parts there. I have been trying to tell people that the US has ties with Mexico, and because we border it, they plaster everything on CNN. BUT, there is a difference between Juarez, Mexico City, and Tiawanna, and Cancun. And there is a major mileage difference too! Its sorta like saying that Philadelphia is dangerous, so don't go to Texas? I did alot of research on the crime rates in Cancun, and it is typical, I guess I shouldn't say typical, but, basically, don't get wasted and wonder where you dont know where you are going. And it seems to spike during spring break with muggings & rapes, which makes sense because majority of the tourists are drunk 24/7! Cancun relies on their tourism, they are going to make it as safe as possible! New Orleans is very dangerous, but the US never puts travel advisories out about not going to mardi gras! Things happen everywhere, you just got to use your head. And don't do anything that will end you up in one of Mexico's jails! it is aggravating. Planning a wedding is supposed to be a happy time, and why people can't keep their comments to themselves is beyond me. We feel like we learned alot about the people we know planning our wedding. The people that should, and could afford to go, aren't because of the news, and the people that we didn't expect to go and we didn't think could afford it, are doing everything they possibly can to go. We had contimplated changing destinations (especially after my MIL had her panic attack about it) but, we figured, those who want to be there for us will. And when we get back with all our photos, and our guests brag about how much fun they had, all those who didn't go because of their hestitations will be jealous!
