  3. I made sure that both of them confirmed Juan would be doing the photography, printed those emails, and put them in my "important stuff" binder. I wasn't told that I would have to upgrade but that an additional hour was optional. From what I understand, anyone who put their deposits in prior to March 17, 2011, will have Juan Navarro Photography. Everyone else after that date, will have Vallarta Photography.
  4. Yay! Just got my emails from both Claudia and Juan confirming that he will be doing the photography! Such a releif!
  5. I have no idea what we are supposed to upgrade too if we got the ultimate package??? I am so confused I have emailed Claudia about everything, but still no response.....
  6. I think it may just be your photo - You can tell that the model is sorta at a side angel, with one foot in front of the other, where the one you took of yourself is a full flat front view. I like it! I think it looks like a perfect destination dress! What I did with my dress, I'm having the seamstress take out one of the layers underneath. Mine is also a destination dress, but I felt the same way, it was more fitted on the model in the catalog, than it was on me, and like my seamstress said, the models have these dresses totally altered to them, so it is possible they didn't keep all the layers. Mine only has 3 layers, but she said that the one layer would make a big difference.

  8. I would - she said that she is going to give the corperate office my emails so they can see that this is a big concern.
  9. Ok - so I got an email back, very quickly from Claudia. She said that the photographer situation is on discussion with the coorperate offices. Nothing is definate yet. So, we will see what happens!
  10. Me too - I have not calmed down after finding this all out! With the wedding getting close, I've been a little stressed lately. Only a few breakdowns. And today was having a pretty descent day, then BAM! Ugh. I talked to my travel agent and emailed her the "warning" post and let her know the last time Claudia emailed me back, the amount of times I have emailed her, and the whole total of 5 responses I have gotten from her in the last 8 months. Pretty much all the questions I have emailed her, I got my answers from all of you girls on here! This site has been a lifesaver! So, my TA sent an email to AM Resorts, Dreams Resort, Dreams Wedding Dept, Apple Managment, and the Apple Rep at Dreams totally reaming them out about this!!!! Basically telling them they better fix this situation on behalf of all of us future brides. Once we get a response back, I'll let you all know how it goes....She cc'd me on the email, I was kinda scared after reading it LOL - I thought I was mad, she was livid in her email to them!
  11. OK - this is absurd! Claudia did let me know about the videography previously, only because I asked since I had received emails from both vendors and wasn't sure who was included in the package. I was disappointed about that because looking at the previous vendor's video samples, I was very happy with his work and did consider hiring outside of the package, but figured, its ok, the new vendor hopefully does just as good work. Now the photography!!!! I want Juan Navarro to do our photography! I love his photos! This has me enraged! And its nice that we find out on here, and not from the WC. Looking at the quality between the previous & current vendors, I honestly feel like they are trying to save money, but meanwhile are going to charge us just the same! Its just not right! Whats going to be next??? Are they going to tear the gazebo down!?!?! I'm sorry, I'm just mad & upset. Has anyone confirmed this with Dreams? I'm still waiting on responses for emails I sent to the WC weeks ago and my wedding is in April
  12. Hi Girls! I am at a loss with the shoe deal - I wanted to do heals for the ceremony, then switch into flip flops for the reception (reception is on the beach) but after talking with the seamstress, she said that my not be a good idea, or at least to go with a heel no taller than an inch so that at the reception me, or anyone else isn't tripping on the dress. I can't find anything online or in stores! Does anyone know of any good shoe sites???
  13. I went to Borders this weekend and they had "hangover kits" - Let me just say that these ones posted in this thread are far better than Borders! It was hard to tell, but there was barely anything in it and they were $12.99!!! Definitley using this template and making my own!!!
  14. After my experience with Davids Bridal last week, I will never let anyone I know getting married to step foot in there! It started when I made my appt, the girl on the phone told me to creat a profile online, put the dresses I want to try on into my favorites, and they will have them ready before I get there. So, I did that. Took the day off work for my appt cause it was the only time slot they had. Arrived right on time for my appt - but it took 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge I was there! Wasn't mad yet...finally when they decided to check me in, the couldn't pull my profile up (which they said they would do that ahead of time) but I was able to on my phone and they printed it off. The lady helping me asked what type of dress I was looking for, I showed her the ones on my profile (something flowy, beachy, not too heavy) so she says "Oh, you are having a beach wedding, so you just want something short then", I again said "no, I want something like the ones I put into my profile - elegant, lightweight" she looked at me like I was nuts. Ok, still wasn't mad...let it slide...So, she brings me out these huge ballgown style dresses to try on - as if she was being a smart a** cause I wanted a wedding dress instead of what she thought I should wear! I looked at my friend, who tells me to just try a few on, who knows I may like them. So, I did, and kept saying this is not what I want, they are like 25lbs! And too puffy! I asked her about the 7 dresses that I put in my profile, and she tells me that they don't have ANY of them. When I found them online, they were "in store only - and new arrivals" when I told her that, she tells me "no, they were clearanced out". So, I asked if she could call other stores to see if they had maybe even 1 out of the 7, and she tells me she is going to call, but it was taking a little while, so my friend & I walk over around the other side of the store, and she is sifting through more huge dresses! I asked what was going on, and she says that no stores within 50 miles have any of the dresses! I kinda thought it BS. Don't think she ever did call any of them. So, I was polite and told her that I was done trying on dresses, they didn't have any of the style I was looking for and thanks for her time blah blah blah. She has the nerve to tell me that I HAVE to buy a dress that night! Mind you, I was only trying on dresses for an hour at most - it wasn't like I took up her whole day. At that point, I did get mad, told the woman that I was told to have the dresses I wanted into my profile, they never pulled it up, never had them ready and never bothered to call me and even let me know before I drove out there! I didn't waste her time, this is your job, she wasted my time. Then I told her that even if I did find a dress I liked, I wouldn't buy it from her after that comment! Basically, their customer service, & sales I thought were very poor. And just a heads up - they really try to push their charge card on you. I wasn't interested, some people may be, but I had to hear about it 4 times within the hour I was there. It was just one of those not so happy experiences that you hope for looking for a wedding dress. I ended up getting mine at a little bridal boutique that was having a Maddie Sottero trunk show. The people there were wonderful, and most of those private stores offer free alterations. The one I got mine at told me that if they have to do 5 alterations, all included and gaurenteed by the date I need it, even if they have to stay up day & night doing them and they won't let me leave with it until I am 100% satisfied! Davids Bridal on the other hand, couldn't gaurentee me 1 alteration (that I would of had to pay for and need regardless any dress cause of height) because it is prom season. Apparently, during prom season, I was also told by that woman, that prom customers are their top priority, that's why my alteration would get pushed back....Nice....Isn't it called Davids BRIDAL!
  15. I ordered my FI & groomsmen attire from www.cubavera.com. They have a really nice selection - even their sale items (some shirts $14.99) are very nice. If you sign up on their website with your email address, they immediatly send you a coupon code for 30% off your total order. I put my order in last Thursday, got free shipping (orders over $50) and they arrived on Saturday - It was a box about 4 feet tall, 3 feet wide, and 4 inches of inside width - everything came on hangers, and in plastic garmet bags! We were both so impressed! And the quality of their stuff is exceptional and the prices are not bad at all! The groomsmen, their shirts came to $17.99 each, then we got them all linen pants at Old Navy (they are just now in stock! $32.99, many sizes!) This is the suit my FI is going to wear - it is linen, fully lined, and oh so sharp!
  16. I am doing fuschia, tangerine, and lime green - what I am doing with the table (going with one long table) I got a crystal organza fuschia overlay for the table, then a crystal organza tangerine table runner, silk tangerine napkins, little napkin holders I wrapped in lime green ribbon, and for the chairs I got the crystal organza in both fushcia & tangerine to tie together around the white chair covers. I am also going to get some sort of flower, to pin on the back of the chair sashes to off set those colors. For the centerpieces, I am doing a few small ones of lime slices with flowers on top and submersible LED tea lights. I put it all together with my dining room table so I could see if I was doing an over kill, and it turned out great! The crystal organza is very pretty, it makes the colors sort of light, basically, not so bold, so you can put 2 colors together and its not crazy looking. Just an idea! I can send you the website I ordered mine from, the prices were great & they were delivered within 3 days.
  17. Thanks everyone for your comments on my dress! I am so excited! Can't wait for next fitting!!!
  18. I actually looked at that site a while back and contimplated also, they are knock offs - That site specifically had very bad reviews. If you don't care whether you have a knock off or not, there is a site called www.inweddingdress.com and they did have good reviews. I ended up getting mine at a trunk show and the Maggie dresses were 20% off which is alot when talking about hundreds! I saved close to $300 on my dress, and most bridal stores include free alterations.
