  4. They look great....Just definitly make sure you have something to hold it down in all the right spots. Typically runners are hels down with double sided tape and/or pins . Heavy shells or even candle in an shourt, wide vase (with sand &candle) would work well. Sometimes the grooms men unroll it right before the bridal party or bride comes down, I would NOT suggest this!!! Make sure its down and secure ahead of time and just ask you WC to ask guest to take thier seats from the sides opposed to the aisle.
  5. This sounds great!!! I think i am going to do this! Thanks!
  6. Thats a great idea! I will check it out!! If i do this, do you think the people at beaches will raise hell b/c i bought my own flowers from a flower shop to make my boquet? You know them better than i do ! lol
  7. I would love to see pics of the gazebo options!!! Should i pmyou my email???
  8. I want my fiance to come dress shopping with me!!! He totally would too!!! He has great taste, always helps me pick out clothes for me when we go shopping!!! I trust his opinion more than my mom!! What do you guys think? Has anyone done it? Will his reaction of me on our wedding day be any less considereing he has already seen me on it? HELP!
  9. We saw a wedding going on there when wewere on vacay. The gazebo was not on the beach though, it was the one that is kinda of on the middle of the resort behind the casitas. It was beautiful and so romantic....it was dark out and they had candles...very nice! It was also more private than the beach, people could still watch (like us!) but only from the side. Good luck !
  10. We vacationed at the EDR a few years ago. Our swim-up casita room was amazing, as was the staff and the pool. The beach is definitly the biggest downfall, our TA never told us about the sandbags and rocky beach. It was a last miniute vacay,we didnt really do any research. If you want to enjoy a nice beach, i wouldnt recomend it, which is such a shame b/c the everything else is truly wonderful and romantic. We are going to get married at beaches turks and caico b/c the beach is a major factor for us! We did see a wedding going on there when we were there, it was in the gazebo that is more in the middle (to the side) of the grounds. It was semi-private, took place at night with lots of candle lite...super romantic!!!!!!!!!!! We also saw a reception, it was in the middle of the resort, semi-privat, and looked really nice as well. Good luck!
  11. That's great to hear about the menu choice! We too are leaning toward the 3 hour reception. I think having the private reception is the least we can do for our guest who are coming so far to be with us. We are looking at about 20-25 people, but it may go up to 30 if some people decide to bring their kiddies. The calypso band sounds awesome!!! I do no think we are going to do live music, I cant justify the prices soI think we are going to go the Ipod route. We will just make some playlists before we go. Are you doing one of the MS themes? We are gonna stick with BB, and the gazebo is looking like the ceremony site. I saw Chrissys pics of it and I love how it is more private than the beach, also it doesnt need any decorations since the beach is the background.
  12. Brandy--We are in the early planning stages for a Jan 2012 wedding----seems so far way, but I am hoping the more time we give our guests the better our turn out will be. We are definitly going to do a private reception, not sure which one. The three hour one is our first choice, but i saw another post that said you have to pay more to give your guests a choice of entree. They really do squeeze you for every penny you have! We have alot of picky/allergic/foodie people coming with us, and i do not think they would be happy with no choice, i know i wouldnt. I WISH we could do a dinner reservation, that way I would maybe do the hour reception, then all go out to eat later on.What are you guys thinking about doing?
  13. Hmmm...My TA gave me a small booklet that had all differnet boquets, bouts, and corsages in it. On each page is the theme,,,,like for beautiful beginings it shows the orchid boquet, but it also shows a round hand-held boquet of all roses. Do you know what i am talking about? I was assuming the all rose boquet would be an upgrade from the 'comp' orchid boquet. Brandy...what did you end up doing for your MOH??? Like I said I am a floral designer who only does weddings, and my boquet is the only thing i have ever thought about when thinking of getting married. It may even trump the dress...lol. Also, what room did you go with??? There are way to many options!! Are you doing a private reception? And if so for how long? I am going back and forth between the 2 and 3 hour ones. I would love to pick your brain on a million things!!!
  14. I think that is what i am going to do...I would rather spend less money on the STD and invest more in the actual invite that has more info in for people who are serious about coming. Do you have a pic of your STD? I would love to see it?
  15. Thanks! My TA does a website for us, so im a going to see if an RSVP is something included on it. With some clever wording on the STD, I think this may be okay!
  16. Does anyone know the prices of the Marta Stewat boquets? I am going to do the BB package and give the comp boquet to my MOH, and maybe get one of the other ones for myself. I am a floral designer,,,,if the Martha Stewart boquet are a huge rip off....i may send myself flowers from an island florist (if i can) and rip it apart and make my own boquet the morning of. Do outside florists deliver to Beaches? Thanks!! And if anyone needs flower help/advice/ect....let me know!!! www.mdsfloraldesigns.com
  17. Hey all! Planning a Beaches T&C Wedding for 01/2012. Kinda confused about what to do about STD and invites... -I kinda of want to send STD to everyone on my list with a formal invite/info package to follow. Do you guys think it is wierd to ask for a reply in the STD? Even if it is yes, no, maybe? My thinking is that this would give me a better idea of a head count, and i would know who to send real invites/info packages which would be more fancy (passports)?? What did you guys do? I want to send them out in 01/2011 to give people time to save $$$.....Thoughts please!!!
