Please let me know if you have any issues with safety. We are getting concerned and do not know what to do. We may be changing our location due to more and more warnings coming from family friends that live in Mexico.

My planning is good but it sounds like I am a little behind! We have about 40 people going and I will have a solid number on December 1 because everyone has to put a deposit down on the room. I sent out our invitations and they took me forever! I ordered the inserts but I put a starfish & ribbon on all of them and we sent out 75. I have ordered the fans and started on the wording for our programs. I have to do the OOT bags, Welcome books, (I have bought the books but have not printing anything) and a million other little things! We are going to register today so one less thing for out list

I am going through the exact same thing! We have people trying to bribe us to have our wedding somewhere else. We have prayed about it a lot and we have decided that we are going to have our wedding as planned. The wedding is not about everyone else it is about my fiance and I. This is where we want to get married and where it is going to make us happy and if it comes down to just him and I then we will be just as happy. Everyone seems to forget about the point of the wedding sometimes when they get all wrapped up in the details. You dont want to look back one day and regret moving your wedding to another location. You want to remember your wedding as you visioned it with you and your husband. That is what your going to remember the day you married your best friend. I mean traveling to any foreign country is dangerous. Of course when traveling to any foreign country there are certain precautions that need to be taken. The media has blown all of these events way out of proportion, if you look more in detail at these events that are listed they are all incorporated with the drug cartel. I live in Texas and majority of the danger is right by our border cities! We have had so many killings within our American cities near the border and you dont see them exploiting that! Majority of the problems are in the border cities, Monterrey, & several other cities that are listed on travel.state website. It is your personal choice on what you would like to do but there are many weddings going on that have had no problems. The problems will probably continue to occur you just need to be smart and alert and do your homework so you wont put people in harms way. My best advice for starters is book your ceremony site and reception location ASAP! You want the opportunity to get what you want before another bride gets the same date as you. Welcome to the site!

So we had to move our date up 2 weeks to March 12, 2011. Long story but our wonderful resort had another bride and they double booked our first choice of reception location after we already booked! Anyway we moved our date and I am trying to come with wording to put travel agent information & letting guests know they have to put a deposit down by a certain date any suggestions?? This is what I have for the change the date part but I need to put something at the bottom stating they have to put deposit and contact our travel agent to do so. To marry each other we just couldn't wait! We decided we had to...... CHANGE THE DATE! Please note your calendars and join us on our new wedding date of March 12, 2011. We are sliding this in the main envelope separate from our invitation. Any ideas???

Hello ladies! I am having a hard time getting them to budge on room rates? Can I please ask what your guests will be paying per night per double occupancy? We are getting married March 12, 2011.

Congrats! I am getting married March 12, 2011 at EDR!! My first suggestion is book where you want your ceremony and your reception asap!! We had to change our day in order to get where we wanted because we didn't book early enough. We are getting married @ Gazebo 55 & having our reception @ Tucantes. We are super excited!!

I just went through the same thing and we ended up changing our date!! It would have been nice for them to have let us know that we need to get this information turned around to them ASAP so that we make sure to get the spots we wanted. Anyways I have the other locations and pictures and I can email them if you provide me an email. The other place that is similar is the Health Bar and they will only offer it if you complain and request it. It is similar to Tucantes except smaller. That was our problem we have 50 and it only holds 40. So it might work for y'all. Hope this helps!

OMG!!!! I am so happy I found this forum! My wedding date is March 26, 2011 at the EDR and I so need help! This has been very nerve racking doing a destination wedding and I just want everything to turn out nice. Question for y'all did you get a discount for booking a group of rooms? What photographer are you using? I am worried about not having shade during the ceremony too but I really want the beach I am so torn :/ SO much to do anyone else feeling overwhelmed because only so much is in your control?
