I'm thinking linen for the men as well. I will have to check out that website. I have been having second thoughts since the day I ordered my dress. It due in by January. I really hope I have one of those moment I keep seeing on Say Yes to the Dress. You know when the girl decides she absolutely loves the dress. Here it is. Do you think it's appropriate for the beach?

We have a 14 month old daughter, so he's already been through all that. I guess if he dealt with that for over a year, he can survive the next 8 months with me and this wedding. So far I have booked the date, sent out save the dates and invites, ordered my dress and BMs dresses and booked the photographer. He has yet to ask his gms other than my brother (I did that for him). I started looking at gm attire, hairstyles, flowers, private event sites and table decor, but haven't decided anything on that. My latest fixation is on the OOT bags. So excited to do those. My guests are slow to book though. I think a lot of people are going to use their tax refunds to pay for the trip so I will not have a final headcount until March. Damn procrastinators! Haha! I sent the save the dates out in March. Despite all the people who have emailed me telling me they are definitely coming, only ONE has booked so far. Got to love my friends and family! haha!! How about you? Have you gotten far with planning?

I keep reading all these posts about how windy it is on the beach. Have you girls had any thoughts on how you are going to do your hair? I wanted to wear it all down, but it sounds like that could make some awful pictures in the wind.

I would also love to know how you went about this. I already hired an outside photographer and would love to get an outside DJ as well. Any tips for getting mp to agree to this?

This is so true. I have to keep reminding myself of this. I'm driving him crazy with all this planning. I hope he still likes me by the time May comes around.

Thanks again for the great advice. I am the same exact way. I hate to be the center of attention. I was a BM in a wedding a few weeks ago and the pictures of me walking down the aisle are hilarious. So serious and tense and it wasn't even my day. I'm not having anyone walk me down the ailse at my wedding so I will definitely have to keep this in mind.

I had all the same worries too, but have decided to do the legal wedding here and have two friends who are not going to Mexico be the witnesses. At first I felt guilty about not telling people the ceremony in Mexico will be symbolic, but as far as I am concerned, Mexico will be my real wedding. My friends and family are going to witness us promise ourselves to each other for the rest of our lives. To me, that is much more important than signing a legal document.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change your wedding package? After deciding to get an outside photographer and flowers I'm actually paying almost a $1,000 more than I would have had I just got the free package and added things on. I wish I found this site before I booked!

Based on the reviews and some of the post I read on here, I requested Kalena. There are other WC I read good things about, but I can't remember their names. I can't remember seeing more than two or three bad comments about any of them though. Everyone seems to rate the on site WC's really high. That's definitely reassuring.

I would get some notice out to guest as soon as possible. It's up to you whether you want to just send out invitations or save the dates now and invitations later. I sent my save the dates out in March and just sent my invitations out this month. You have plenty of time for planning everything else. That's what I keep telling myself anyway!

That's part of the problem. I have no idea. I asked her to send me examples of decorations and centerpieces they typically do for outside receptions. I want to keep it pretty simple (inexpensive). I definitely like the strings of paper latterns and maybe some candle center pieces...then again, I don't know how they will hold up outside. Here are the questions I asked my WC in Miami so far: Q: Are there multiple photograpers to choose from? Can I see samples of their work? A: There is more than one photographer. MP just entered a new contract with Kodak. There should be a website up with samples soon. Q: The Caribbean Terrace is not included in any of the private event info I received so far. Is it still available for use. A: Yes, there is an additional $12 per person set up though. This additional cost will be applied even if you qualify for the unlimited free events. Q: Can I request a specific WC? A: Yes as long as the person has not already been assigned on your day. Q: What are the prices for live entertainment for the reception? A: Mariachi - $580, Mexican Trio - $450, Soloist - $450, Harpist - $480, Jazz Trio - $850, Fire Dancers - $850 I also requested price list for the DJ, photographer, outside photographers, optional services for the sapphire package, etc. If anyone needs this, I'd be happy to email it to you.

Thanks for this Alison and congrats. Your dress is stunning. I love the setup for your reception. I think I'm going with something very similar. Did you order the chairs through Deco or are they included as part of MP's setup? Odd question I know, but I've saw a price quote from Deco with chairs included.

I had a few friends panic about the violence. I tried to reassure that the majority of those problems exist along the border towns. Most of my guests are from the general Philadelphia area. When these comments started to annoy me, I gently reminded them how unsafe certain parts of our own city are and that they are under no obligation to come. If they don't feel safe, don't go. That easy! My TA recommended booking the night stay for the photographer as well. She said day passes are only good for a certain amount of hours.
