  1. That's what I originally thought too. I thought it might be rude to have just immediate family and the wedding party. At the same time, I don't want people to feel obligated to adhere to an agenda. Most of my guest are only going 4 nights. I was thinking I would have a welcome cocktail hour on Wednesday, the rehearsal on Thursday and the wedding is on Friday. So now I'm thinking that might be too much to expect everyone to go.
  2. Are you going to reserve the welcome party and rehearsal dinner or wait until you get there. I'm not sure what to do about that. I think I will qualify for the unlimited events, but I'm nervous I won't. I guess I should just wait to plan those.
  3. I got mine now as well. Her assistant replied. What are you doing for your rehearsal dinners? Are you inviting everyone or just the wedding party? Private event or one of the restaurants?
  4. Hi there. Don't feel bad. According to the list of people who say they are coming, I should have something like 60 guests. Yeah, only one of them have booked so far. Final payments are due March 1st. I'm sure the majority will wait until a week or two before then. I'm so excited to do my OOT bags don't want to start any of those projects until I have a better idea of who is really going to show up. I wish I could ship things. Palace resorts don't allow us to do so.
  5. Yeah, that is the impression I'm getting too. I knew it wouldn't be exact, but I was hoping to get a better idea of what to budget for. I guess I'll have to go with the more laid back approach and just save what I can and deal with it in May. I don't want to be bothered with Walmart trips in Cancun or lugging a bunch of extra suitcases. I think I'll take some things with me and skip on the things that are too expensive or hectic to transport.

  7. That's great!! Good for you!! I would love to see any of the general info she sends you, if you don't mind. I emailed my WC last week, but I don't know when I'll hear back from her.
  8. OMG, really?? So early! That's fantastic. I'm so scared I'm not going to hear from my WC until March or so.
  9. I did. Thanks so much for that. Terraza Mar.pdf
  10. I don't have a picture, but if you look at vgirls review she has a few pictures on there. It's beautiful. Do you have pictures of the Terraza Mar? If so would you mind posting or emailing them to me at [email protected]. Thanks. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/59658/vgirl-s-wedding-review-moon-palace-resort-cancun-mexico-april-24-2010
  11. She is just precious and what a pretty name!!! Congrats to you and your family.
  12. Welcome, Kristibear!! I can't say for sure about the waves, but everything I have read on this site has said that one of the only negatives for MP is the beach. People say there is a ton of seaweed and it's not the best beach to swim.
  13. I love that location, but I'm not sure how big of a group I will have. I'll wait until later to decide on that. I really love it though. I saw it someone's review on here and it is perfect! My email address is [email protected]. So what about getting all the equipment in. Will that be a problem? That makes me nervous.
  14. I completely agree. How are you getting around using an outside DJ though? Do you mind sending me the DJ info. Also, is there an additional setup fee for teh Carribean Terrace? I love it, but I was told it would be an extra $12 pp setup fee.
  15. Wow, you are way ahead of me on planning. I just booked Octavio last week. I read great reviews of him and his prices are fantastic! I will take a look at Maria Sanchez though. I sent out my std in March and just mailed my invitations a few weeks ago. My dress and bm dresses have been ordered and ard due in to us in January. That's about it. I have been looking at ideas for OOT bags, favors and flowers, but haven't decided on anything yet. What ceremony and reception locations did you choose? That's next on my list to decide. Are you using an outside DJ or does the resort have DJ's to choose from? I read that some girls hired outside DJ's, but I'm worried about doing that.
  16. This is very pretty. How do you plan to transport the vases? I would love to bring my own hurricane vases for candles, but I feel like they are going to be such a problem to pack and I'm scared they will get ruined on the way.
  17. Thank you for this. I'm really don't want to kill myself trying to carry everything down there with us. I'm thinking I'll probably bring out OOT bags, linens, petals, programs and place cards. Everything else I was hoping to pick up there. I want things to be as easy as possible, but at the same time I don't know how much I can afford to pay for at the resort.
  18. I completely agree with you on this. My fiance and I decided when we got engaged that we are not putting ourselves into debt over this wedding. We are paying for everything in cash and whatever we can't afford come May we will have to pass on.
  19. You're right.. If I should be stressing about anything it should be getting to the gym and making sure I can wear a bikini that week!
  20. Oh wow! I just talked to my TA a few mins ago and she was very vague about it. She said there is a room block of 20-25 rooms (haha..what does that even mean, shouldn't there be an exact number?). She said they will figure out exactly where once everyone is booked. I think that basically means my guests are just going to get whatever rooms are available. I don't know. I really like my travel agent though. She books weddings at MP all the time so I guess she knows what she's doing. I'm not going to stress about it.
  21. Haha!! My TA is the same way. She always says they she's done so many weddings there and she knew exactly how it works. I'll give her that, she has given me great advice. She's even recommended some outside vendors for me, etc. But for the things she doesn't know, like price lists and menus, etc. I just email Miami directly. It's never really been an issue b/c I didn't give her the option. I'm sure it will be fine if you do the same. I am usually such a procrastinator, but I really can't be with this. Budget wise, I really have to know the cost of most things before 70 days prior to the wedding. It's fine with me if I can't set the exact location and flower choices, etc, but I have to have a good idea of how much it's all going to cost me or I won't be able to force myself to save for it.
