  1. Congrats, Jess!! Planning is so fun and exciting! I'm pretty sure they do have weddings on Sundays b/c my wc suggested that I move mine to a Sunday. Get in touch with your Miami contact and request the information for your onsite planner or her assistant. If you have your heart set on a certain location for the ceremony or private events reserve them as early as possible. If they say you have to wait, insist that they allow you to do so. Good luck!
  2. Melissa, here is a thread about playlists. Hope this helps. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/42149/anyone-have-their-entire-playlist
  3. I still haven't heard back from anyone at the resort, but my travel agent was apparently able to get through to someone in the Cancun office today. They worked or are working something out to make sure I can have a beach ceremony, however they did mention something about being a small window of time before or after another wedding. My WC is supposed to be contacting me directly to explain. I've definitely learned my lesson about not being persistent enough. I've been very relaxed and patient with trying to reserves my locations over the last 2-3 months. I will be calling and emailing until I get every event and appointment booked! Thanks for all the support ladies!
  4. Sorry, I should have included that as well. Edith is great, but be patient. My experience has been that she will respond within a week or so.
  5. Still have received a response to my emails or calls. I know this will get resolved, I just think it's such a horrible way to treat your customers. To all other brides, I would definitely reserve your spaces as soon as possible and verify with the onsite corrdinator as early as possible to make sure you get what you want. I was told before I signed my contract that I would have my choice of the beach or gazebo once my onsite WC contacted me. That's obviously not the case.
  6. Wow, what a beautiful wedding and video. That just made me cry! I can't wait to get married!!!
  7. I really don't know. This morning I sent an email to Edith (WC's assistant), Kalena (WC), Lorena (Miami contact), Lisa (Miami supervisor) and my TA telling each of them how disappointed I am about this and my overall experience with MP so far. Not one of them responded to me. My travel agent reached out to her contact in Miami and she said she will speak to the Cancun office about it and see what can be done. However, they did bring up the fact that not many of my guest have booked yet anyway. Really??? Wow, that's because my booking deadline isn't until March and most people plan on getting the holidays over with first and I really don't think the size of my wedding should in any way impact the level of service they provide. It has taken me two months to finally get the contact info for my WC and then they had to nerve to question why I waited so long to confirm the location. Not to mention, I've been told serveral times that I have to wait until 90 days prior to the wedding to make these sort of plans. I truly wish I could have all of my money and guests money refunded and book somewhere else.
  8. I just read my post again and despite my spelling, I swear I'm not stupid! lol!!! I'm seriously just so upset. A huge part of that dream beach ceremony I have stuck in my head is the BEACH!!! I don't want to sound overly dramatic, but I'm not going to be happy about the wedding if it's not on the beach. But what am I supposed to do at this point if it does not work out the way I want it to. I have already paid off my stay, my guest have put down money and I have deposits on the wedding and a photographer. I really feel like my hands are tied at this point and I don't have a choice either way. I have to say, I'm not loving the experience I've had with MP up to this point!
  9. Hi, ladies. Just need to vent. I emailed my wc's assistant two weeks ago to make sure that a beach location was reserved for my wedding in May. She finally got back to me tonight saying that I will have to use the gazebo as the beach is already reserved for the time of my wedding and suggested that I change my wedding date to two days later. That's obviously not possible as I have already sent out STD and invitation and my family and friends are leaving that day. I've been trying to be very relaxed about this whole process, but I am honestly devasted right now. The whole reason why we wanted to have a destination wedding was to have a simply beach ceremony. I purposely reserved the wedding a year and a half in advance so that I could have the day and time that I wanted on the beach. I know I mentioned wanting a beach ceremony when I requested the ceremony. I don't know what to do now.
  10. Cgeris, I am going through an outside travel agent. Only one of my guests have put a deposit down and my TA already secured the group promotions for me. From what I understand, these promotion are available with any group contract whether that is directly through the resort or an outside travel agent. I would have him/her look into this sooner than later.
  11. I love these!! I'm actually going to steal this for an inspiration picture!
  12. I have similar concerns with budget. We are actually doing out entire wedding for $12,000. That includes everything wedding related from the save the dates all the way up to to travel and reception. A lot of the resorts have wedding packages and promotions that help you stay on budget. For example, at Palace Resorts if your guests book a total of 75 nights or more you get free unlimited events (welcome coctail, reception, rehearsal dinner, reception, etc) and your 7 nights stay gets refunded after your stay. It was definitely a big factor us picking Moon Palace for our wedding. Take your time and do some research on here. This site definitely helped me more than my travel agent. Good luck!
  13. Thanks. I'm so undecided. I originally requested the Tuscan Garden for the cocktail hour and the Tuscan Terrace for the reception, but I really love the Carribean Terrace. Problem is I still have no idea how many people are coming. I think I check to see if it's still available and make my decision from there.
  14. Wow!! Great job! Thanks so much!
  15. You're welcome. I actually found this site through her review on trip advisor. Lots of helpful info in there.
  16. Wow, I am super jealous of what a wonderful job you did with all this. I am definitely stealing a few of your ideas. Everything looks beautiful! Congrats and have a wonderful time.
  17. Here is the link to her review. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/59658/vgirl-s-wedding-review-moon-palace-resort-cancun-mexico-april-24-2010
  18. Kydall, they don't include these in the site information they send out. It is a roof top terrace. If you look for Vgril's moon palace review, she has a few really nice pictures of it. It is beautiful, but from what I understand, they charge an additional 12 pp fee for the roof top terraces.
  19. Do you mind telling me what costs you were quoted for the Carribbean Terrace. I love that location! Is that far from the Tuscan Gazebo?
