  1. Thanks, ladies. The opinions of strangers is so much more reliable at times. I really appreciate the help.
  2. One of my all time favorites. My finance actually sang this to me at a bar one very very drunk night! Great choice!
  3. So I made the bad choice of trying on dresses after I already ordered one. Now I'm so confused b/c I really like all three. My wedding is in May so I really have to decide asap. I went by myself to try these on. I would love some opinions:
  4. Okay, so I made the mistake of trying on more dresses after buying one. Now I am three months away from my wedding and I don't know if I should wear. The first is the one I already bought:
  5. Galena or Kalena? I have Kalena and she is fantastic. Takes a while to get back to you sometimes, but she is super nice and very organized.
  6. Lorena was my contact as well. It took me 5 emails, 3 phone calls to her and 2 phone calls to her manager to get a response in a similar tone from her. MInd you that was over the course of about 2 months! After all that time, I found out that she completely ignored my requests and I was scheduled for the wrong things. I've also talked to brides that have had similar experiences with her. I would suggest callng her manager and asking to be reassigned.
  7. I'm so glad I found this thread. Reading all your stories has made me feel so much better about being in the same situation. I originally assumed that we would have a very small wedding. Much to my surprise, over 50 people responded that they were coming or told other friends that they were coming. Now, with 3 months to go, only 2 couples have actually booked. My booking close date is March 1st. I'm sure that some of these people will wind up coming, but it's looking like my number will be closer to 20-25. I'm completely fine with that and am extremely thankful that those people will be coming. At the same time, I feel a little disappointed because I've spent so much time planning things around a big group. I'm so confused what to do about my plans now. Do I still get a DJ and dance floor for 20 people? I feel like it will look silly. Can you still have a tradtional reception with that small of a group or is it just a private dinner? I'm honestly a little sad at this point. We're not having an AHR and I really want to have all those special moments...the first dance, cake cutting, etc. My bridal party is seriously going to be half of those attending! I'm so confused now.
  8. Octavio is the photographer at my wedding in May. I'm so excited to hear good things about him.
  9. I also really love this dress. Do you mind me asking who makes it?
  10. The Grand Terrace (by the pool) looks very private and has a bar. I'm having my cocktail hour and reception at that location. The Tuscon Terrace looks very pretty as well from the pictures I've seen. It looks more private than some of the other terrace and over looks the ocean. People can still be walking by though. Don't think there is a bar there.
  11. SChica, I would love to read your review. Please tell me where to find it. Thanks.
  12. Jess, I did the same thing. Yes, you can still change your package. Contact your rep in Miami and let her know that you want to change. My contact sent me out a new contract which noted the change. They would not refund the money, but they do note on your new contract that you have a credit in the amount of your deposit to be used toward optional wedding services.
  13. Angela, The room nights depend on how long you are all staying. If all 11 rooms are booked for 7 nights, that would equall 77 room nights and you would qualify for unlimited private events. Each private event includes open bar, a choice of menu and standard decor (tables, chairs, tableware and white linens). Hope this helps.
  14. I booked my photographer a night stay. I wasn't sure if his is on the approved list and didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of discussing this with my WC. Even with the night stay it still wound up being much cheaper and including a lot more than if I went with the resort photographer.
  15. That's exactly what I'm doing. I scheduled that for my welcome/rehearsal dinner at one of the restaurants. If I wind up booking 75 nights, I will change that to a private function as well. I intially thought the packages included much more as well. Once I realized how limited they are, I decided to switch to the complimentary package and add the things I wanted. It definitely saved me money.
  16. That's right. The package only includes a dinner reservation for 30 or 35 people. A cocktail hour and reception are considered private events and they are extra. I can post the price list if you need it.
  17. This is exactly the kind of motivation I need. I"m in.
  18. I'm having the same problem as well. My family and our guests will be leaving out of Philadelphia. I've been holding off hoping that prices will come down. I'm giving it until Feb and then I'll just suck it up and pay it. I can't believe how high the prices are now.
  19. Everything looks fantastic! I love you dress and the flower girl and ring boy outfits are too cute! Did you make your luggage tags yourself or did you order them? Love the the wife shirt as well.
  20. Alison, thank you so much for taking the time to answer all these questions. I'm having a horrible time getting my WC to respond and you are definitely calming my nerves a bit with these answers as well as the dj info you provided on the other thread.
  21. This is my concern too. I think the DJ prices are insane and would prefer to go with the ipod system, but I'm not sure that I want one of my guest to make introductions and annoucements.
