Bubba Kegs
kellygrrrl replied to hommer's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
hi ladies - I wanted to share what I did to personalize my bubba kegs. I ordered some vinyl letters from an Etsy seller, ACJInspirations (I customized the font and letter size to 3", but see her listing as an example: http://www.etsy.com/listing/54352456/four-1-12-inch-vinyl-initials). I used lowercase white letters for girls' mugs and uppercase black letters for the boys' mugs. the vinyl letters stick on and are weatherproof, but you can remove them with a hair dryer. please let me know if you have any questions! -

hey ladies - I saw the first bubba kegs of the season at Walmart last night. they were in the Spring section as well as on a housewares endcap. looks like they have a new green this year that's brighter than last year's. you can also get bubbas in solid colors red and black, and some of the larger black mugs had handles with light blue and true blue accents. prices ranged from $5.48 to $7.48. happy shopping! -

ok, wow. so when I first read this, I'm not gonna lie, I was like, "nothing but juice. for 30 days. NO dress is worth that!!" but then I was curious so I checked out the video 'Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead,' on Hulu for free, and it was an eye-opener. I've wanted to find a way to incorporate more vegetables into my diet, and I think this could be a good solution. not so much full-time but more as a supplement. is there a way to try juicing without the juicer? did you follow the recipes on jointhereboot.com? how is the taste, honestly (especially for those kale-laden drinks - that can't be good ; )? I think it makes sense and lots of people could use it. I'm going to try to find a local juice place to test out the concoctions. if all goes well, maybe I can pick up a used juicer on Craigslist. I would have never thought of this (and have never heard of it before). thanks for the idea! -

tropiclover and jamie - I am so sorry. : ( I wish we had a trainer in this forum so they could offer suggestions. based on your profile pics, you both look pretty thin as-is. is it possible that you don't have much fat to lose? I'm wondering if your bodies are in the dreaded 'starvation mode,' and that Insanity may be too extreme for you to do every single day. it's no question that Insanity is designed to burn fat ASAP. I wonder what would happen if you switched to some weight lifting workouts for the longer-term metabolism gains. you could use the free link posted earlier in this forum and try P90X arms and shoulders or legs and chest? when doing Insanity, I always feel like my hamstrings bulk up because of all the jumps and squats. tropiclover, I'm almost certain that's what's going on with you. your body is moving things around as you're building more muscle and losing fat. it's hard to imagine that half an inch is throwing everything so far off, but I'm sure it's possible. as long as you like what you're seeing in the mirror (and as impossible as this is NOT to do), I wouldn't worry about letting the dress out. you KNOW you're not sitting on the couch all day and night eating cookies and ice cream and wondering what happened. you're working SUPER hard, and you should feel proud of what you've accomplished. when in doubt, break out the camera. take some before and after shots in the same outfits (swimwear, workout wear and even street clothes) so you can see the difference. I think that even if you do it right now vs. two weeks from now, you'll see the difference. it may be subtle, but I think it will be there. tough as it may be now, hang in there ladies. keep going, keep eating well. if you're burnt out, take a day (or two) off. if you're tired of Insanity, do something else. if it's really not working for you (even in terms of making you feel better), then I think that's your cue that you need a different workout. you could even seek out an experienced personal trainer to help explain what's going on and guide you to what works. just keep going and keep experimenting until you figure it out. you can do it!! : ) -

haha, funny you shoudl say you're skipping the recovery week, because I've just finished month one, and despite my earlier claims, I think I'm keeping it! I'm pretty tired, and the short break will be nice before launching into month two. it's a good idea to do some different things. it breaks up the frenetic pace of Insanity, and honestly, I've had no difference in results from the first time I did it (all Insanity) to this time (Insanity/P90X combo) - except maybe now I have more muscle, thus enabling me to do more Insanity. I always figured that if I cut too many Insanity days, I could add them back in, but I haven't needed to. I measured on Saturday and am down an inch in all the major places. I'll have to post a pic soon (have I promised that already)? glad you're back on the Insanity plan, sxcT! a wedding, an AHR and a vacation in one year? lucky! ; ) -

I bought these for our upcoming wedding in May and recently found something I thought was a bit more 'me'.They were purchased brand new from Carolee, and they've never been worn. The crystal bows are absolutely perfect on the earlobes (even if your ears are pierced low like mine), and the pearl really sets them off. New cost was $45 + tax and shipping. Asking $35 OBO. Thanks!

hey ladies - believe it or not, I actually would up with TWO of the dress pictured below. it's a shelli segal laundry by design ruched white dress with lace and flower details (fabric is taffeta-like). I love the length and how the ruched fabric camouflages things. ; ) I plan to change into it at the very end of the dinner reception so I can wear it out drinking and dancing that night. I also want to get a short white veil to go along with it. the first dress I bought was a size 4 but it fit a little large on me. once I started Insanity, it became too big and I had to order the 2 (I typically wear a 4, so it runs a little large). if anyone is interested in the 4, please make me an offer. I've posted an ad for it in the For Sale forums. thanks!!

Show off your shoes....
kellygrrrl replied to twinkletoes's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
hey ladies - if anyone is struggling with having hemmed their dress to their heels and trying to decide what platform flip flops to wear, these colin stuart ones from Victoria's Secret are GREAT. they're $25 each (or 2 for $35), and although the canvas strap isn't dressy, they're like walking on soft little marshmallows. the base actually gives a bit - it's not just hard foam. I think they'll feel like paradise on the wedding day, and I'm even planning to wear them out later that night with my reception dress! -
