Hello fellow brides! I just returned home from Aruba after having my dream wedding last week on Palm Beach at the Occidental Grand. If I can help any of you out with information on either Aruba or the Occidental, please contact me. If you have chosen Aruba for your wedding - you've made the right choice. My wedding was PERFECT! Contact me if you want pictures or advice Jen.

Hey! I didn't have to convert to a PDF file...actually when you go on vistaprint to design your brochure it actually comes up with the brochure blank and you just fill it in right on line...choose some pictures and type your text. It gives you parameters so that you know how it will print...it wasn't hard at all...but definately time consuming. When I ordered them (about a month ago) they had a promotion on for 50 for free so it was perfect and when they arrived they looked EXACTLY like they did on the website

Aruba - Civil Wedding Ceremony in Aruba - or at home??
JENBRAND replied to JENBRAND's topic in The Islands Weddings
Hey! Yes - I got the official legal answers....if you want to message me with your e-mail address I will send over all the information I received from my Aruba wedding planner -
Hello All Aruba Brides! Okay to clear up some confusion for all of you (as I almost went insane trying to figure this out) .... If you want to have a beach wedding ceremony you can, however, it is not legal. They consider it a blessing. Your guests would never know the difference, which leaves you with 2 options. Option #1: You can get married in your home town (at city hall or something) and bring your wedding certificate with you to Aruba. The beach ceremony will still be EXACTLY the same, vows, ring exchange, tears, for better or worse...yada yada yada Option #2: You can get married at the Town Hall in Aruba PRIOR to your beach ceremony. You and your financee (and guests if you want) can all go to Aruba Town Hall - do the legal wedding - and then head to the beach ceremony. You can also get married at town hall the day before if you wish. All the wedding planners that I have talked to have strongly advised getting married in your home town first...and here's why. To get married in Aruba you need to provide (2 months prior) several documentations - stamped and specially sealed from your home town Government - you also need witness information, passport copies, letter stating you are both single and so-on-and-so-on. The biggest problem with getting married at Aruba Town Hall is as follows: If for any reason you end up divorced or widowed (knock on wood) - you need to go to Aruba with the paperwork. There have been several instances of certain states/provinces not allowing the Arubian Wedding Licence as a legal document for the name change. Obviously this decision is up to you - it took me about a month to figure it all out and understand it all!!! I hope it helps. We are getting married on February 8th 2012 and the Occidental Grand Aruba Palm Beach. I have not seen ANY posts on here about anyone who has been married or stayed at the Occidental so if people can post some feedback that would be greatly appreciated! Also - for you past Aruba brides - survey: Did you get married in your home state - or in Aruba Town Hall? Thanks everyone - happy planning and I hope this helps Jen.

Hello to all Future Aruba Brides! I need some help - and some information. My fiancee and I have finally decided on Aruba as our destination wedding location of choice. I just have a few questions regarding the legality of it all. Did you get married in the Aruba Town Hall before having your Beach Ceremony or did you get married in your home town and bring your wedding certificate to Aruba? We really want to have a Beach Wedding down by the water, but I know that Aruba only does this as a blessing - you must be "married" first. We were thinking of getting married at home first (Toronto, Ontario) and bringing our wedding certificate with us. If you get married at Town Hall in Aruba - did you go alone with your Fiancee and then do the Beach Ceremony without telling guests that it wasn't legal...or did you wear your wedding dress and bring all your guests to Town Hall with you? I hope this makes sense - I'm confused and undecided about the whole event. Please if anyone can help me with information that would be greatly appreciated Thanks Jen **Wedding Date: February 8th 2012**

Hey everyone So my financee and I have FINALLY decided on the Renaissance Aruba for our destination wedding location. After researching and researching and researching (I feel like I know everything possible about every resort in the Carribean) we felt that Aruba was the best choice. We have received pricing for flight and hotel and it's actually much more affordable than I thought it would be...only question to anyone who can help me out... We want to book our flight/hotel packages before pricing goes up, but I do not now how to book my wedding with the resort. I don't want to fly everyone out there to realize that there are no wedding dates left. I have contacted Juney (wedding planner for the resort) but he has not yet responded. Does anyone know the process of how I go about booking my actually "wedding" date with the resort?? I need to make sure this is done before we fly out there. Thanks everyone P.S. If anyone has any other info they can provide me, I would be forever grateful. You can never have too much information. [email protected] Thanks again
