lysie217 Congrats!!! I'm getting married at the Palace in 13 days and I've vacationed there in Feb 2009. For the most part you can't have outside venders come to the Riu Palace. FLOWERS: They have their own florist that they use, I've looked all over this site and haven't heard one bad thing about the flowers people had for their wedding/reception. DJ: You can use their DJ or you can create a playlist and have the DJ control the music for you. HAIR/MAKEUP: You are not allowed to bring outside people from salons in Cabo to do your hair, makeup, nails & toes but you could have one of your guest who’s good at hair/make up do it. The package (Caprice) also includes hair, nail & toes at the Renova Spa at the Palace but I've also heard great things about Suzanne Morel which is a 5 min taxi ride away. RECEPTION: You can go w/ what the package provides for decorations or you can go crazy and bring as much stuff as you want. One you get there you’ll meet w/ the wedding coordinator and explain where everything is supposed to go. I’m keeping it pretty simple and just bringing a few paper lanterns and paper fans in our wedding colors to place around but some brides bring DIY centerpieces, napkins... CHAIRS: I haven’t heard of any brides special ordering chairs at the Palace, the wedding chairs are white w/ your choice of bows and the reception chairs are nice looking chairs that match the decor in the restaurants. WC: From what I've heard once you get down ther the WC will never tell you know and try to make evrything you want happen! I agree If I had darker hair I'd go for the white so it will pop against your color, with blond hair the fuchsia so it won't blend in with the hair or wash you out.

No wedding party for me either! I've been a bridesmaid 6 times and I don't want my friends to have to pay for all the things bridemaid related and have to pay to go to the wedding, trust me they were all grateful!! The only email I've gotten from her was a question asking what time my wedding was at...um its in less than 3 weeks and you don't even know what time its at?? YIKES! I replied and asked a bunch of questions and she never responded...

So I don't know where the dance floor would be for either, but I can tell you the Steakhouse is a much bigger restaurant in general.

So when I first booked my wedding last January the WC was Danielle, and then it was Monse and now I just got an email from Paola Flores (I think she books all the Riu Mexican weddings) that the new WC is Kai Lara??? Has anyone met her??? I'm getting married in 25 days and getting kind of nervous!

I actually visited the Riu Place in February of 09 and we liked the food at the Steakhouse much better than the Mexican restaurant. It was lots of fried "American" Mexican food instead of anything authentic, it was actually our least favorite restaurant on the property taste wise. I also agree that the Steakhouse is a much bigger restaurant then the Mexican restaurant. The Mexican restaurant has an inside section and then an outside terrace and I think they stick most wedding parties on the outside terrace (view of the beach and ocean). The Steakhouse the whole restaurant if that "open air" feel with the same view of the beach and ocean.

Here's a breakdown of our day...any suggestions for when we should start taking pictures? We want to take all our couple/family photos before the ceremony. I'm actually just getting my hair done at the Renova Spa, I've heard GREAT things about Suzanne Morel but I'm trying to limit my "beauty budget" for the wedding:) 5:30-6:00 Ceremony on Beach 6:00-6:30 Free Cocktail hour at Bar 6:45-8:20 Dinner at the Steakhouse -Order Dinner -Dinner -Cut the cake -Thank everyone for coming and invite over to disco for toasts and dancing. 8:30-11:00 Pacha Disco (private) -Toasts -1st Dance -Father/daughter & son/mother dance -Dancing 11:00-2:00am Pacha Disco opens to all!!!

Good to know! I've tried to email the WC but haven't gotten a responce. My Fiance was saying the same thing that all ipods have the same output and his iphone should work and I have no clue about this type of stuff! Hopefully I'll hear back from Monse. Just wondering any tips for the wedding? I have 29 days to go!

Does anyone know if the Riu Palace places OOT gifts in the rooms of our guest or do we have to go around and deliver them?

I was just wondering if you ever ended up hearing from the WC?? I am too a Riu Palace Cabo bride getting married 11/9/10 and have been trying to get a hold of the WC for the last 10 days and have not had a response...I actually haven't had any communication w/ anyone at The Riu since March. I was waiting closer to the wedding date like they said to do and contact them about the smaller details, but now it's 5 weeks away and I haven't gotten ANY response and I have some questions and need to upgrade my package to Caprice? I'm actually not even sure who the WC is now, it was Daniella when I booked the place, but it sounds like that has changed? Anybody got a response lately? Is the email still [email protected] ?
