I second that - Jcrew is a great place for bridesmaid dresses and they are always having a sale. I'm buying my girls dresses as a thank you for coming so I chose dresses from Priscilla of Boston. If you keep an eye out PoB has sales throughout the year as well and that's another way to save.

Jenny - So sorry to hear about that! I have learned to not involve mine. As annoyed as I am by this - it's made my life easier. Try not to stress and hopefully others can help fill in for him. RunningBride and Smckinney22 - When you were at Maria Marie's for your rehearsal dinner were they able to put you in an area that was somewhat more private? I know it's mainly an open area but I was hoping they had an alcove or a section that was kinda away from the crowd? How was the food? Was it heavy? I just did our total budget and our grand total is 15k!! I was hoping to keep it around 12-13k but I wouldn't change my choices. So now I'm just trying to be more vigilant on our expenses. Is anyone doing a small outting or dinner for just family & bridal party?

Hey! If you're interested in a Houston photographer - I absolutely love mine!! His name is Steve Lee, www.steveleeweddings.com, you can even find him on FB. He just shot some fun engagement pics. His office is in the Heights. He has a destination package. You don't have to pay separately for his room and flight - it's all built into the package. His pricing is around the same level as Elizabeth Medina and possibly Ivan. The best part is - he has shot at The Royal before and knows the layout. He has alot of stuff built into the package - all I added to mine were bridal portraits and an engagement signing book. I included him as my guest and he's staying at The Royal - so no vendor fee! YAY!! I asked my WC if we can have everyone in my room 4hrs before wedding starts bc we plan on taking pictures before the ceremony starts and she said no problem. I have a few girlfriends that know someone or have used him and their photos are amazing. He's really easy going and loves the creative stuff. For our engagement session we're going to Forbidden Gardens in Katy wearing traditional asian dress and then going to chinatown off of Bellaire for fun shots in normal clothes. We're doing a theme, East meets West. I also know of another photograher, her name is Dianna, email: [email protected], www.karellephotography.com, office is in Spring area. She does alot of destinations and is very reasonably priced. Let me know if you want more info on either of them.

Both are absolutely gorgeous!! Great styles. I like the 2nd one for a romantic beach look. I love the first one for the regal look - either one you pick will look amazing on you!! I agree about the corset and lace-ups! Nothing wrong with a little extra help! =)

Gals that used Fernando for makeup and hair - did you have to pay a fee to the resort for when they came over to do a trial run before the wedding? We're scheduling a site visit early spring and I'm thinking about having him do a trial then but didn't know if The Royal had issues with that. It's taken my WC a while to get back to me at the moment so I thought I'd get a quicker response.

YES!!! It's hard to decide what to do. I like the half updo but then I don't know how humid it will be in June so maybe up? LOL..... have you found any looks that you like? It's hard finding something that's a little unique that no one has done yet.

LOL....We're going to sit 8 to a table so everyone can be comfortable, plus it helps to spread out the area so it doesn't seem too compact. We are bringing our own photographer from Houston down but we have him included as a guest to avoid the $350 vendor fee and he's also staying at The Royal. My own and several other WCs from previous brides have stated similar - so at least this seems consistent.
